- Planning commissioners present here are in the council chambers, and I will go ahead and call this meeting of the planning commission to
- the planning Commission begins, um, if begins each public hearing. Furthermore, if you're signed up to speak, you'll receive
- dash 0 1 43 Deep Eddie Grocery slash Deep Eddie Cabaret is uh, offered for a post uh planning commission postponement to
- criteria that this planning commission, uh, has previously said we're for. And I think it's a, would be a win
- correct me is it essentially moves forward to council without a recommendation from the planning commission. Thank you
- . Chairman. Um, um, I agree with, with density and, um, it amazes me when this planning commission, um, isn't
- ? Yes. Um, okay, it's 7 43. Let's all plan to come here by 7 48. So we're planning commission is about to
- make sure that we're planning and passing regulations that are in compliance with our overall planning commission, with
- from Planning Commission on October 24th, 2023, um, that those recommendations regarding the telework policy at the city within the
- recommended by Planning Commission and to present them and take them, uh, for review through boards and commissions
- , uh, October of last year, your, uh, the Planning Commission recommendations were, um, created for these amendments. And
- , this is a screenshot out of the, the, uh, planning Commission recommendation. The additions, the amendments can be
- through the entire process, not gone through the Comprehensive Joint Planning Commission and all, all those various and
- know that wasn't something that was out of our scope as planning commission, so we didn't necessarily touch on
- to come before us for consideration as well before the planning commission? I'll go ahead and take that. Um
- . The, um, the codes of ordinances sets up the ex-officio positions, of which the Planning Commission has
- an ex-officio on the Planning Commission, the director of public works, as well as our staff liaison
- job for this planning commission. It's an interesting discussion about what our governing documents say and how we
- want the planning, how, how we as a body feel, the Planning Commission ought to be constructed and
- planning commission at some point this spring as part of a larger group of amendments. And one note
- of the planning commission at 9:44 PM Thank y'all very much. All up in the hot.
- I think that's certainly, I think it might not make sense for an agenda item for the planning
- commission, but certainly I think something the chair and I can follow up in our agenda meetings and

- on the draft plan before it went to planning commission. Um, which believe it or not, was actually at
- public and packaged it up for planning commission, um, review. And I believe some point in what either the public
- review draft or the, um, planning commission review draft in 2022 actually came before the Downtown Commission. And
- and an action. Um, at that point. We then presented to planning commission. We had a work very, um, lovely
- planning commission because of workload issues, um, had to postpone their deliberations, um, into 2023. And then we
- had some additional engagement that planning commission did in early 2023. Um, that took a while for various reasons
- , um, but were able to put together a planning commission recommendation, um, in mid late 2023, then moved on

- was previously recommended by the Planning Commission. And this is a, um, we're redoing the item based on some notice
- back on your agenda. On November 14th of last year, this case was approved unanimously by the Planning Commission and
- forwarded to council, and has been postponed at the council, uh, pending a recommendation from the planning commission. This is
- the planning commission. And if you could clarify that and perhaps add some detail, it would be appreciated. Thank
- Planning commission for a recommendation because it's a rezoning and the code requires a recommendation by the Planning
- . So it does require a recommendation from the Planning Commission And the difference between the two zonings, the
- that's in the works and will be coming to the Planning commission for a recommendation later this year. That
- that make the ultimate decisions, but it's gotta come through here first. And so involve this planning commission when
- to the Planning Commission and determine whether or not TOD gateway is more beneficial to Austin's density goals. That's
- planning commission, but not as a condition of the approval. That's correct. Purely advisory Vice Chair, chair. I, I
- of those were already dispensed by the Planning Commission and the council last year. The three pending of that
- , um, provided for planning commission recommendation. Are we able To, so, um, are We able to ask questions? Sorry
- and Planning Commission members. My name is Spencer Schumacher. Um, I'm the Urban Transportation Commission member who usually
- , thank you for taking the time to come and speak to us here at Planning Commission. And I think what
- hear from marginalized communities, communities that don't historically engage with the planning commission, and how we can
- planning commission. And I just would like to see as, because of the, some of the discussion that came
- that historically have not engaged with the planning commission. So that was the thought. Um, that was the
- , are coming up to the planning commission. Well, thank you for that description and because when you talk about
- that we Postpone the election for Parliamentarian position For the planning commission to our next meeting? I'll go
- district has already been approved by council that was approved last October with full support of the planning
- commission. This is now coming to rezone change the zoning from CMU to CMU midway. So we cannot do a
- confused about, if this has to be done by council action, what, why is it coming to the Planning
- Commission If I may? Madam Chair? Yes, Ms. Ruly, and please go ahead. Okay, thank you. This is coming to the
- Commission to the city council when rezoning any property within its jurisdiction. And, and we did this before
- , going over those changes just so it's clear on what was changed, um, and that's what, uh, the planning
- commission would be, uh, recommending tonight. I'm having a, a little bit of trouble hearing the, the sound here
