- you. And then mayor, you had the planning commission appointments as well on this, right? That's right. Thank you for that. Um
- complaints, as you will recall, um, on the planning commission, uh, item, uh, there was some question about whether or not there were
- broader, uh, in terms of, uh, how, how we employed, uh, planning commission members and how we give everyone equal access to
- planning commission, uh, appointments, um, uh, to make sure that we were all reconciled. We have people that have started to make
- planning commission appointments. We had a cast member pool last week. And as we talked about last week, uh, her appointment was
- to do a tiny introduction, which you've kind of handled, um, which really has to do with the, um, the planning commission requirements
- . The planning commission requirements are set up in the charter, and those are the ones that, uh, indicate that there are
- , um, we, this was kind of highlighted in 2018 because the city was sued or are individual members of the planning commission were
- planning commission alleging that they were, um, they shouldn't be on there because of this conflict with the charter on the number
- requirements of the charter. And, um, the people in the lawsuit changed over time because the members of the planning commission changed
- , there were a couple of changes that impacted the planning commission. One is, um, they said a term start date of July 1st
- , um, for planning commission members, but a March 1st for the other commission members. This was to give everyone a time to get
- that time, their membership was, uh, two years set term. Um, and so that left, um, going forward, the planning commission members
- members for the planning commission still have a two year term, you will need to reappoint or appoint a new member at
- of people who were related directly or indirectly to, to real estate. Um, we, we represented the individuals on the planning
- commission. Those members, uh, made arguments among, among them, uh, was that the council has deference to decide who meets the
- had a July 1st start date. Um, we corrected that, um, since then through a charter amendment, um, to set the planning
- commission, um, terms to up to two years, um, and eliminated the July 1st, um, start date for the terms. Um, so this will allow

- mixed use. It was recommended by the planning commission, but not by the staff. So when we post it for
- to go to the planning commission for approval. There would be a notice, uh, mailed out at a public hearing
- , held at the planning commission. Um, if the planning commission could decide to approve or disapprove the site
- of the planning commission, in which case the, um, the issue would be tossed to the city council for
- approved, whether it was approved by the council or by the planning commission, um, they would have to comply
- commission, the decision to approve or disapprove it's the planning commission, but that decision is appealable to the
