WE'RE THE PURPOSE OF THE ELECTION OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS WITH DISTRICT SIX AND DISTRICT COUNCIL, NUMBER FOUR, RATES THE MOTION AND COUNCIL GO FLAT AGAIN.

SECOND STEP DURING THE DISCUSSION.

JEANETTE CAN SPEAK FIRST.

OKAY.

UM, BEFORE WE TAKE THE VOTE, I WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE STILL CURRENTLY WORKING ON TRYING TO LOCK DOWN A COUPLE ADDITIONAL, UH, POLLING LOCATIONS.

UM, AND I HOPE TO HAVE A FINAL WORD TOMORROW, BUT I NEED TO START TO GET THE PUBLICATION READY FOR THE STATE'S MEN.

SO MY PLAN IS IF WE CAN GET THESE LOCATIONS LOCKED DOWN THIS WEEK, I WILL EMAIL EVERYBODY OUT THE ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS.

WE WILL PUBLISH THEM IN THE NEWSPAPER AND THEN COME BACK TO COUNCIL, UM, PROBABLY ON YOUR WORK SESSION TO HAVE YOU FORMALLY ADOPT AND APPROVE THE ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS.

UM, WE ARE STILL WORKING ON THEM.

YOU KNOW, WE'VE HAD THE DISCUSSIONS BEFORE ABOUT HOW DIFFICULT POLLING LOCATIONS FOR THE NOVEMBER OR THE DECEMBER RUNOFF ARE IN A GOOD YEAR AND THROW IN, UH, COVID AND RISING NUMBERS.

AND IT HAS BEEN EVEN MORE DIFFICULT THAN IN A NORMAL ELECTION YEAR.

UM, BUT WE ARE COMMITTED TO TRY TO GET AS MANY LOCATIONS IN OUR DISTRICTS AS WE CAN.

UH, THANK YOU FOR THAT.

AND I KNOW IT'S DIFFICULT AND AS SOON AS YOU CAN, UH, IT LOOKS LIKE, UH, THE LION'S LOCATION THAT TAKEN OFF THE LIST, UM, IN DISTRICT 10.

WHY, WHY DID THAT HAPPEN? UM, THEY WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR, UH, EARLY VOTING.

WE HAVE THEM A, AN ELECTION DAY SITE, AND THAT WAS THE WORD THAT I GOT FROM THE FACILITY.

SO THANK YOU.

UM, I GUESS I WOULD ASK THAT IF YOU COULD CONTINUE TO IDENTIFY, UM, AN ALTERNATIVE, UM, I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION UNTIL FIVE MINUTES BEFORE THIS MEETING, THAT LYONS WAS ON THE LIST.

UM, THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF MY DISTRICT THAT, UM, IS, UM, NORTH OF THE RIVER IS NOT COVERED BY ANY POLLING LOCATION.

UM, I KNOW THAT YOU'RE WORKING ON THE NORTHERN SECTION OF THE DISTRICT AND WHERE THAT OVERLAPS WITH DISTRICT SIX.

UM, BUT THERE'S HUGE SWATHS THAT ARE NOT COVERED BY THE LOCATIONS.

AND I UNDERSTAND, UM, THE CHALLENGES YOU'RE HAVING.

UM, BUT IT JUST TO, TO LEARN FIVE MINUTES BEFORE THAT IT WAS TAKEN OFF, UM, DOESN'T PROVIDE A LOT OF OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO HELP YOU IDENTIFY ADDITIONAL SITES.

AND I, AND I RECOGNIZE THAT IT'S CHALLENGING UNDER COVID.

[00:10:01]

UM, BUT I LIKE TO, I GUESS, PROVIDE DIRECTION TO CONTINUE TO IDENTIFY, UM, THOSE SITES AND IF THEY NEED TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO US ON TUESDAY, UM, THEN TO DO THAT AND I CAN REACH OUT TO LYONS AGAIN AND SEE IF WE CAN CONVINCE THEM TO BE AN EARLY VOTING SITE.

UM, BUT WE DO HAVE THEM FOR ELECTION DAY AND THAT'S GOOD TO SEE IT BE GOOD IF YOU COULD ALSO CHECK BACK WITH THEM TO SEE IF THEY CAN, BECAUSE IT'S IS A WIDE GEOGRAPHIC AREA.

AND IF THERE'S AN ALTERNATE SITE OR EDGE OF DIVISIONAL SITES BY THE SIDE EFFECTS, UM, YEAH, AGAIN, I, I WANT TO JUST BE CLEAR THAT I WASN'T TALKING ABOUT, YOU KNOW, IT HAS TO BE THAT SPECIFIC SITE, BUT WE, WE DO NEED SOME SITES IN THE, IN THE AREA, UM, TO, TO COVER POETS PEOPLE IF WE DON'T WANT EVERYONE COMING ON ELECTION DAY TO VOTE WITH THE PANDEMIC.

OKAY.

THANKS MARIN.

AND THANKS JANETTE FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND YOUR CONTINUED HARD WORK ON THIS, JUST FOR MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA OR OTHERS THAT MAY BE REPORTING ON THESE LOCATIONS.

I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO BE CONFUSED THAT THE REVISED EXHIBIT A IS JUST THE DOCUMENT FROM TRAVIS COUNTY.

THERE'S NO PLACE HOLDER WHERE PEOPLE FROM THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY LOCATIONS AND VOTERS STILL HAVE TO VOTE IN THE COUNTY OF THEIR RESIDENTS.

I KNOW YOU'RE WORKING ON THOSE WILCO LOCATIONS.

THERE WILL BE WILL WILLIAMS COUNTY LOCATIONS.

AND JUST BECAUSE YOU LIVE IN WILLIAMSON COUNTY, DOESN'T MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE TO VOTE IN THE RUNOFF.

RUNOFF APPLIES TO YOU TOO.

AND THE CURRENT WILLIAMSON COUNTY LOCATIONS ARE IN THE ORIGINAL EXHIBIT.

THEY MAY NOT BE IN THE UPDATED ONE BECAUSE WE JUST GOT THAT FROM TRAVIS COUNTY A FEW MINUTES AGO, THIS IS A COMPLETE MOVING TARGET.

UM, THAT GIVES ME HEARTBURN AND INDIGESTION.

UM, AND I WILL ADMIT IS THE WORST TWO WEEKS OF THE YEAR, UM, FOR ME.

SO, UM, I APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE.

UM, AND I WOULD ENCOURAGE YOU WITH DEVELOPMENT TO CONSIDER POLLING LOCATIONS AS A COMMUNITY BENEFIT, BECAUSE IT IS SO DIFFICULT WHEN WE GET INTO THESE OUTER AREAS WHERE THE CITY DOESN'T HAVE A LOT OF, UM, REC CENTERS AND LIBRARIES AND, AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

SO I THINK THE MAYOR WENT OFF SCREEN.

UH, SO, UH, JUST SHOT ME A TEXT COUNCILOR FLANNIGAN.

YOU WANT TO GO NEXT? YEAH.

I JUST WANTED TO BE CLEAR BECAUSE THE, THE AGENDA NOTES, THE LAKE BACKUP AS A REVISED EXHIBIT A WHICH IN NORMAL TIMES MEANS IT REPLACES THE ORIGINAL EXHIBIT EIGHT, BUT WHAT I'M HEARING YOU SAY, JEANETTE, IS THAT IT DOESN'T REPLACE EXHIBIT EIGHT.

IT IS IN ADDITION TO YOUR ORIGINAL EXHIBIT.

YEAH.

WELL, WE'LL GET THAT UPDATED.

IT'S JUST, WE LITERALLY GOT IT LIKE FIVE MINUTES AGO, UM, BEFORE WE WERE LOGGING IN FOR THE MEETING.

AND SO I THINK WE JUST DIDN'T QUITE CATCH THAT.

IT WASN'T A COMPLETE REVISED EXHIBIT.

THANK YOU, COUNCIL MEMBER ALTAR.

THANK YOU.

UM, JEANETTE, I JUST WANT TO CONVEY THAT I REALLY APPRECIATE THE DIFFICULTY OF THE TASK, UM, IN FRONT OF YOU.

UM, AND, UM, WE'LL MAKE A, YOU KNOW, JUST TO ECHO WHAT JIMMY JUST SAID TO, TO MAKE A SORT OF, UH, A FRIENDLY AMENDMENT TO THE MOTION THAT'S ON THE TABLE TO, UM, I BELIEVE WE HAVE A MOTION ON THE TABLE, UM, TO DO THE COMBINED BACKUP FOR, FOR EXHIBIT A, UM, AND THEN, YOU KNOW, IF LIONS IS NOT GOING TO WORK FOR AN EARLY VOTING, WE HAVE ANOTHER SITE NEARBY.

THAT IS THE HOUSE IN LIBRARY THAT HAS BEEN USED IN THE PAST, UM, WHICH WHILE IT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BE USED AS AN EARLY VOTING LOCATION OR VOTING LOCATION, UM, WHEN YOU HAD THE WHOLE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, PERHAPS IT COULD SERVE, UM, IN THIS CAPACITY, IT'S NOT THAT MUCH, UM, SMALLER, SMALLER THAN LIONS, AND THAT MIGHT BE AN ALTERNATIVE TO, TO CONSIDER.

UM, SO I APPRECIATE YOU CONTINUING TO LOOK FOR THESE LOCATIONS AND UNDERSTAND THE PRESSURE THAT YOU HAVE TO GET THINGS PUBLISHED.

UM, BUT I THINK WE WANT TO MAKE THIS AS EASY AS POSSIBLE.

UM, SO WE'RE NOT CROWDING UP ON ELECTION DAY.

THANK YOU,

[00:15:01]

BARRY.

YOU BACK LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE STILL OFF ANY FURTHER DISCUSSION ON THE ITEM.

I THINK THERE WAS A MOTION AND A SECOND, UH, I DON'T THINK YOU NEED TO WAIT ON THE MAYOR TO PASS.

IT SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING PRETTY UNIVERSALLY AGREED UPON.

SO, UH, ALL IN FAVOR.

SO YOU, STEVE, THAT IS ME.

YOU STILL CAN'T SEE ME THOUGH, BUT I WROTE EYES TOGETHER WITH THE OTHERS.

THAT SOUNDS GOOD.

IT LOOKS LIKE IT PASSES UNANIMOUSLY, UM, WITH, UM, MAYOR PRO TEM GARZA OFF THE DIOCESE.

AND I DON'T SEE ANYONE ELSE OFF THE DYES.

SO IT PASSES UNANIMOUSLY, UH, WITH 10 VOTES ON AND, AND THE MAYOR PRO TEM OFF.

I THINK THAT'S ALL THE BUSINESS THAT WE HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF AT THIS MEETING.

SO UNLESS THAT DAS SEND ME ELSE, UH, WE'LL STAY ON THE, UH, ADJOURN, UH, HERE AT, UH, 1219, MAYBE HE'S ADJOURN.

THANK YOU.

BIG BANG, BANG, BANG.
