[C.1. REPORTS BY COMMISSION SUBCOMMITTEES]
MOVE TOOL ITEM.SHE ONE UPDATE FROM JOANNE SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE MEETING.
WE SHOULD A WHOLE, YEAH, SO I'LL KEEP IT SHORT.
IF A KID IN THE BACKGROUND THERE, UM, WE GET A PRETTY GOOD UPDATE FROM THE, UH, GOVERNMENT RELATIONS, UH, BASICALLY TRACK ALL OF THE LEGISLATURE AS YOU KNOW, WE HEADING INTO A SESSION.
UM, SO A LOT OF, UH, THINGS TO KEEP UP WITH AND I IMAGINE SOME OF THEM WILL BE, UH, RELATED TO, UH, OUR WATER AND WASTE WASTEWATER BUSINESS AS WELL.
UH, BUT SO FAR THERE HADN'T BEEN ANY MAJOR CHECKUP.
UM, AND EVEN WITH, UM, UH, IN PARTICULAR, UH, GREEN ENERGY, UH, THERE HADN'T BEEN A WHOLE LOT OF, UM, THINGS TO, TO QUITE YET SHAKE UP YET.
UH, AND THEN WE ALSO HEARD FROM, UH, UT AUSTIN WHERE THEY PRESENT THE PLANET, TEXAS 2050 INITIATIVES, UH, QUITE INFORMATIVE, UM, LOTS OF, UH, COMMUNITY EDUCATION, UH, UH, COMPONENT.
AND I SUGGEST FOLKS CHECK OUT IF THEY CAN, UH, IT'S PLANET, TEXAS 2050 INITIATIVES.
UH, OTHER THAN THAT, UM, UH, THE ONLY THING TO KEEP UP WITH IS, UH, IN FEBRUARY, MY TERM WILL BE UP.
SO I IMAGINE ONE OF THE KIND, THE COMMISSIONER WHO STAY ON NEW COMMISSIONER WILL BE MY REPLACEMENT AND REPRESENTATIVE ON THAT COMMITTEE.
JEMAN WE SHOULD NOT AT ANY QUESTIONS FOR COMMISSIONER HO IF NOT, WE WILL MOVE
[D.1. STAFF BRIEFINGS, PRESENTATIONS, AND OR REPORTS]
ON TO AT AND T ONE COVID-19 HOSPITAL, WATER, OPERATIONS STOP, AND A FINANCIAL IMPACT UPDATE CHAIRMAN LEE, UH, BEFORE WE START THE UPDATE, I WANT TO, UM, MENTION TO THE COMMISSIONERS, SOME CHANGES WITH AUSTIN WATER.SO ALL OF, YOU KNOW, DAVID ANDREWS AND DAVID STILL WITH US, BUT HE HAS ANNOUNCED THAT HE WILL BE RETIRING IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF, UH, OF THE, OF THE 21 CALENDAR YEAR.
AND, UH, IN ORDER TO SEE THAT WE A SMOOTH TRANSITION, WE HAVE A RECRUITED AND HIRED A NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, AND I'M PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT TO JOSEPH GONZALEZ IS REJOINING AUSTIN WATER.
UH, YOU ALL WILL REMEMBER JOSEPH FROM A FEW YEARS AGO, UH, A FINANCIAL MANAGER FOR US.
HE HAD GONE OVER TO AUSTIN ENERGY, UH, THROUGH A PROMOTION, BUT IS NOW COME BACK TO AUSTIN WATER AS OUR NEW ASSISTANT DIRECTOR AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER.
AND HE'LL BE WORKING CLOSELY WITH DAVID OVER THE NEXT A FEW MONTHS TO TRANSITION SUCCESSFULLY INTO THAT NEW ROLE WITH THAT WITH DAVID'S RETIREMENT.
SO WE'RE VERY PLEASED TO HAVE JOSEPH AS A PART OF OUR TEAM MENDEZ AND HAVE A NICE, SMOOTH TRANSITION, AND YOU'LL SEE ALL DAVID AGAIN, BUT, BUT, UH, BUT, UH, NOT TOO MANY MORE TIMES, JUST A FEW MORE TIMES BEFORE HE RETIRES.
UH, ONE OTHER NOTE I WOULD ADD FOR YOU IS WE'VE ALSO HAD ANOTHER EXECUTIVE CHANGE AT AUSTIN WATER.
UM, MANY OF YOU WILL REMEMBER A NO ANA BRIAN BOARD HAS BEEN RECENTLY PROMOTED TO EXECUTIVE LEVEL WITH AUSTIN WATER, AND SHE'LL
[00:10:01]
BE LEADING ALL OF OUR BUSINESS SERVICES, WHICH INCLUDES, UM, ALL OF OUR COMMISSION RELATIONS AND TRANSACTIONS AT COUNCIL LEGISLATIVE, UH, ALL OF OUR BUSINESS STRATEGY PLANNING, ALL OF OUR AUDITING, AS WELL AS, UH, LEADING EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS, UH, FACILITY MAINTENANCE AND SECURITY SERVICES AND A HOST OF OTHER ITEMS. UH, FIRST OF ALL, LET ME SAY THAT I'M EXCITED AND HONORED TO HAVE BEEN SELECTED AS THE NEXT ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL SERVICES.
AND I LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH THE COMMISSION AGAIN.
NOW, TODAY I'LL BE PROVIDING A BRIEF UPDATE ON OUR CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE, NO RELIEF PROGRAM, AS WELL AS AN OVERALL COVID-19 FINANCIAL UPDATE.
UM, NOW I'LL START WITH THE CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE BILL RELIEF PROGRAM IN NOVEMBER, THE PLUS ONE PROGRAM PROVIDED A 1.1 MILLION IN BILL RELIEF TO, UH, 2,930 CUSTOMERS.
AND SINCE APRIL THE PLUS ONE PROGRAM HAS PROVIDED, UH, OVER 8.8 BILLION IN BILL RELIEF TO, UH, 24,934 CUSTOMERS, AS FAR AS THE OVERALL FINANCIAL IMPACT OF COVID-19 TO, TO AUSTIN WATER.
UM, I'LL START WITH WATER DEMAND FOR WATER DEMAND, UH, IN NOVEMBER DEMAND TRACKS ABOUT 15% HIGHER THAN EXPECTED LEVELS.
UH, YOU KNOW, IT'S THE AROUND 551 BILLION GALLONS MORE THAN BUDGETED.
UM, AND THIS IS AN INDICATION THAT DECEMBER REVENUES SHOULD BE HIGHER THAN, THAN BUDGETED LEVELS.
UM, YOU KNOW, AND IN TERMS OF, OF, YOU KNOW, REVENUES FOR, FOR NOVEMBER, NOVEMBER WATER AND REVENUES WERE, UH, 4 MILLION ABOVE EXPECTED LEVELS FOR, UH, RESIDENTIAL MULTIFAMILY AND COMMERCIAL CLASSES.
UM, YOU KNOW, WITH THE BREAKDOWN BEING 2.4 MILLION FOR RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS, UH, 1.1 MILLION FOR MULTI-FAMILY CUSTOMERS AND ANOTHER HALF MILLION, UH, FOR, UH, COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS.
UM, AND WE, WE FEEL LIKE, UH, YOU KNOW, THE, THE, UH, INCREASE AS COMPARED TO EXPECTED BUDGET IS, UH, PRIMARILY RELATED TO, TO WEATHER, UH, WHICH WAS, UM, A LITTLE BIT HOTTER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR.
UH, SO FOR FISCAL YEAR AND DAY THROUGH NOVEMBER REVENUES WERE ABOUT 6.2 MILLION ABOVE BUDGETED LEVELS.
AND, UM, AND THEN WITH REGARD TO EXPENSES, UM, YOU KNOW, SPECIFIC COVID 19 EXPENSES, UH, THROUGH DECEMBER ARE 3.9 MILLION.
UH, THOSE EXPENSES INCLUDE PERSONNEL, UM, PRIMARILY TEMPERATURE MONITORING, BUT ALSO PPE SUPPLIES.
AND I'D BE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS.
HOW ABOUT, YOU KNOW, COMMISSION HAS GOT ANY QUESTIONS FOR ME ON THAT 30 MORE SECONDS.
THIS IS AN, I JUST WANT TO WELCOME BACK JOSEPH.
THANK YOU FOR THE SHOP PRESENTATION OR MOVING TO

UM, MAYBE HELPFUL HAVE AN UPDATE OF THAT IN THE CONTEXT OF PROJECT CONNECTORS, AS WELL AS THE OTHER MAJOR CORRIDOR.
MS. BROWN, MS. BRANCA, YOU GOT IT.
COMMISSIONER, W W WE'LL TAKE CARE OF THAT.
AND WE'LL SEE, WE STILL HAVE THE, UH, CO UH, 14, UH, IMPACT TO THE, UH, TREATMENT FACILITIES, UH, IN NIGHT, SOMETIMES DOWN THE ROAD.
