SENATE BILL 7, 1 3, UH, MOVES UP THE PUC SUNSET REVIEW TO THE NEXT LEGISLATIVE SESSION. IN 2023 PREVIOUSLY, IT HAD BEEN SCHEDULED FOR 2025 AND SENATE BILL 1281 ESTABLISHES A CONSUMER IMPACT TEST FOR CERTAIN TRANSMISSION PROJECTS, X SLIDE. ADDITIONALLY, THERE ARE SOME OTHER BILLS OF INTEREST THAT ARE SPECIFIC EITHER TO AUSTIN ENERGY OR MUNICIPALLY-OWNED UTILITIES. FIRST IS HOUSE BILL 36 15. UH, THIS BILL WILL REQUIRE, UH, AUSTIN ENERGY AND OTHER IMPACTED, UH, MUNICIPALLY-OWNED UTILITIES TO DISCLOSE INFORMATION RELATED TO DISTRICT COOLING OPERATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT. AND CURRENTLY, AS YOU MAY RECALL, AUSTIN ENERGY'S DISTRICT COOLING PROGRAM OR NOT, THAT'S NOT A PART OF OUR ELECTRIC RATES, AND IT IS NOT REGULATED BY THE PUC HOUSE. BILL 1900 CONTAINS A PROVISION THAT LIMITS MUNICIPALLY-OWNED UTILITY FROM RAISING RATES OR FEES. IF ITS CITY IS DETERMINED TO HAVE REDUCED THE POLICE BUDGET SENATE BILL 3 98, CLARIFIES HOW GROCERY STORES AND FOOD RELATED FACILITIES AND MOU AND CO-OP AREAS AND INSTALL EMERGENCY BACKUP GENERATION, AND THEN PARTICIPATE IN THE WHOLESALE MARKET HOUSE. BILL 8 72 ESTABLISHES THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF WATER UTILITY CUSTOMER INFORMATION, SIMILAR TO THAT, WHICH IS ALREADY IN EFFECT FOR ELECTRIC UTILITY CUSTOMERS. AND FINALLY HOUSE BILL 33 19 ESTABLISHES A PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN FOR WORKERS SAFETY, UTILITY WORKER SAFETY. UH, THERE WAS LEGISLATION PASSED LAST SESSION THAT APPLIED THE MOVE OVER OR SLOW DOWN REQUIREMENT TO INCLUDE UTILITY VEHICLES. AND NOW THERE WILL BE AN EDUCATIONAL AND PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN FOR THAT LAW AND SLIDE. UH, BEFORE YOU GO ON THERE, COULD YOU DESCRIBE THE SB 3 98 A LITTLE BIT MORE SO TO WHAT DEGREE DOES THIS AFFECT AUSTIN ENERGY? YOU KNOW, I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE SOME, SOME COMPANIES THAT CONTRACT THIS OUT FOR CERTAIN GROCERY STORES IN THE COMPETITIVE SPACE, DOES THAT MAP OVER SO THAT THE SAME EXACT TYPE OF ARRANGEMENT CAN BE DONE AND MUNIES AND CO-OPS, OR WHAT CAN YOU DESCRIBE ON, UM, AT DG INTERCONNECTION FOR FOOD STORES AND BACKUP GENERATORS? WELL, I WOULD SAY THAT THAT IN GENERAL, IT'S THE SAME CONCEPT, BUT THIS BILL HAS SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS TO KIND OF RECOGNIZE, UM, YOU KNOW, SOME OF THE UNIQUE OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE AND THE CO-OPS SPECIFICALLY AS BEING NON OPT-IN ENTITIES. WE TYPICALLY CAN'T HAVE ANOTHER ENTITY BE PROVIDING RETAIL ELECTRIC SERVICE TO ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS. AND SO THIS THERE'S SPECIFIC LANGUAGE IN THERE, YOU KNOW, RELATING, UM, AND, AND TO THAT AND PROVIDING SOME SPECIFIC LIMITATIONS. IT ALSO HAS A CAP ON YOU, THE AMOUNT OF DG THAT CAN BE INSTALLED UNDER THIS BILL, AND IT'S SPECIFICALLY LIMITED TO THE SPECIFIC TYPE OF FOOD STORES AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES. SO IT'S, IT'S, AGAIN, IT'S THE SAME PROGRAM PERHAPS IN CONCEPT, BUT THERE'S A LOT OF DETAILS IN HERE THAT WE WORKED VERY CAREFULLY WITH, UM, THE, THE INTERESTED PARTY, UM, YOU KNOW, THAT THERE WAS, WAS TRYING TO GET THIS BILL PASSED TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE WERE CERTAIN PROTECTIONS FOR ALL OF THE EMOJIS.
