UM, I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE WERE TWO SEPARATE LINE ITEMS FOR THE $500,000 FOR MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE. AND THEN THE LAST THING I HAD A CONCERN ABOUT IS THAT WHEN I LOOKED AT THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, IT APPEARED THAT THE CITY OF AUSTIN WAS THE ONLY PROVIDER THAT WOULD BE GIVING THIS RESOURCE TO, UM, THE PEOPLE WHO NEED ASSISTANCE IN THE TRAVIS COUNTY AREA. AND SO IF STAFF COULD JUST EXPLAIN TO THE COMMUNITY HOW THAT PROCESS WILL WORK AND APPROXIMATELY HOW MANY PEOPLE THEY THINK THEY MAY BE ABLE TO SERVE, I DON'T HAVE ANY OPPOSITION OBVIOUSLY TO RECEIVING THE FUNDING. THE SECOND AND THIRD ITEMS ARE RELATED TO TWO ITEMS THAT ALREADY PASSED ON THE CITY CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS, 4,647. THOSE ARE ITEMS TWO AND THREE ITEMS. TWO, UH, IS AMENDING, UH, AHF C'S OPERATING BUDGET. AND ITEM THREE IS, UH, UM, AN AMENDMENT TO THE SERVICE AGREEMENT BETWEEN HFC AND THE CITY OF AUSTIN. UM, AND THOSE ARE TO ACCEPT AND DEPLOY THE $500,000 IN EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE TEXAS TEAM MAT PROGRAM. I OFFER THESE ITEMS ON CONSENT. I'M HAPPY TO TAKE ANY QUESTIONS. THANK YOU. UM, SO THE QUESTION I WOULD LOVE TO DAYLIGHT TODAY IS WHEN WILL THE FUNDS BE AVAILABLE AND WHAT WILL THE PROCESS BE LIKE? SO THAT EAGER HOMEOWNERS KNOW, UM, EITHER WHAT WEBSITE TO GO TO OR WHAT TYPE OF, UH, KICKOFF DATE THAT YOU ARE EXPECTING FOR THESE SURE. UH, ASSUMING THAT THESE ITEMS ON TODAY'S AGENDA, WE WILL OPEN UP THE APPLICATION PROCESS ON MONDAY, AUGUST 2ND, 2021. SO THIS COMING MONDAY, UM, THERE WILL BE AN ONLINE, UM, APPLICATION IS THROUGH AUSTIN, TEXAS.GOV/EIGHTEEN X AND A THAT'S AUSTIN, TEXAS MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE. UH, YOU CAN ALSO GET THERE THROUGH OUR WEBSITE, UH, WHICH IS AUSTIN, TEXAS.CO/HOUSING. YOU CAN ALSO CALL OUR MAIN NUMBER, WHICH IS 5 1 2 9 7 400 3100. WE WILL BE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS ON A FIRST-COME FIRST-SERVE BASIS FOR COMPLETED APPLICATIONS. I WILL NOTE, HOWEVER, THAT REALLY LIMITED FUNDING AVAILABLE THROUGH THIS PROGRAM. CURRENTLY, WE DO ONLY HAVE $500,000. UH, WE ANTICIPATE THAT WE'LL BE ABLE TO SERVE SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 50 AND 65 [00:05:01] INCOME ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS AND THOSE ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS ARE HOUSEHOLDS AT OR BELOW 80% OF THE MEDIAN FAMILY INCOME, UM, WHO WERE FINANCIALLY IMPACTED BY COVID NIGHT. THAT'S REALLY HELPFUL. AND DID YOU SAY FIRST COME FIRST SERVE OR WOULD IT BE A LOTTERY ASSESSMENT? IT WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE OR, UM, ELIGIBLE HOUSEHOLDS. WE ALREADY HAVE DONE A LITTLE BIT OF OUTREACH WITH SOME OF OUR EXISTING, UM, HOMEOWNERS WHO WE HAVE WORKED THROUGH THROUGH, UH, SOME HOME REPAIR PROGRAMS, UH, AS WELL AS, UM, THROUGH OUR DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. UM, SO YES, IT WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST, SIR, WE ARE HOPEFUL THAT THERE WILL BE SOME ADDITIONAL FEDERAL FUNDS AVAILABLE IN THE FUTURE, BUT THAT IS NOT GUARANTEED. IDEALLY WE WILL LAUNCH THIS PROGRAM AND PERHAPS, PERHAPS AS FUNDS BECOME AVAILABLE THROUGH, UM, THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN OR FUTURE FEDERAL FUNDING, UH, WE WILL THANK YOU.
