[00:00:02]
I DON'T KNOW, DOING IT ON ZOOM.
[CALL TO ORDER]
FIVE O'CLOCK.AND WE HAVE, WE HAVE A QUORUM.
IT IS FIVE O'CLOCK ON OCTOBER THE FIFTH.
SO WE'RE GOING TO CALL TO ORDER THE URBAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION MEETING FOR OCTOBER THE FIFTH.
UH, IS THERE ANYONE SIGNED UP TO SPEAK ON THINGS? I DON'T SEE ANYBODY HERE, BUT OKAY.
SO OUR FIRST ITEM ON THE AGENDA IS ASSISTANCE COMMUNICATION.
SEEING NOBODY WILL CHECK THAT ONE OFF.
[1. APPROVAL OF September 7th, 2021 MINUTES]
ON THE AGENDA IS THE APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM SEPTEMBER THE SEVENTH.YOU SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED THE MINUTES IN A PACKET.
IT REFERENCES THE RECOMMENDATION.
WE PASSED THE OTHER ONE FOR TAXI FRANCHISES AND TALKS ABOUT CYPRESS CREEK.
IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION ON THE MINUTES IF I COULD MAKE I'M SORRY.
THAT'S I'M SORRY, JUST PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO CHECK OVER, UM, THE VOTES.
I BELIEVE I HAVE THE VOTES FIVE, BUT I WANT TO MAKE SURE I HAVE, SORRY.
I WANT TO MAKE SURE I HAVE, UM, THE RIGHT PEOPLE THAT VOTED NAY AND YES, FOR THOSE VOTES.
SO PLEASE JUST TAKE A MOMENT TO LOOK OVER THAT.
I JUST DON'T WANT TO BE WRONG ON THAT.
AND ALSO WHILE YOU'RE DOING THAT, I WILL PASS AROUND THE ATTENDANCE SHEET.
PLEASE JUST SIGN YOUR NAME AND WE'LL KEEP GOING FROM THERE.
AND MAYBE CHRISTOPHER HAS A NOTE FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS. UM, MAYBE WE SHOULD SPEND AT SOME POINT A COUPLE OF MINUTES ON HOW WE ACTUALLY DO RECOMMENDATIONS.
CAUSE I CAME UP FIRST SINCE WE HAVE SO MANY NEW PEOPLE.
I DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S, THIS IS AN OPEN FUTURE SINCE YOU JUST SURE.
IS THERE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FOR SEPTEMBER THE SEVENTH? IS THERE A SECOND? I'LL SECOND.
ALL OPPOSED ANY ABSTENTIONS? I GUESS JAMES, WE CAN'T SEE YOU, BUT UM, DO YOU WANT TO SPEAK UP? JAMES WAS YOU'RE AN AN I OR AN A, THERE WAS AN I.
MOVING ON TO THE SECOND ITEM ON THE AGENDA.
[2A. Project Connect Red Line Design Update]
BE A, A RECORD QUICK MEETING, A NEW BUSINESS PROJECT CONNECT, A RED LINE DESIGN UPDATE.UH, I THINK JACKIE IS ONLINE AND WE HAVE AN ADDITIONAL SPEAKER IN PERSON.
I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT, UM, UM, AND, AND KEN CARTWRIGHT ARE THERE.
YES, JACKIE, KEN COURAGEOUS HERE.
WE ARE READY WHENEVER Y'ALL ARE.
UM, ON BEHALF OF THE AGENCY, THANK YOU, UH, COMMISSION MEMBERS FOR INVITING US TO PRESENT OUR REDLINE IMPROVEMENTS, UPDATE TO YOU.
UH, THIS AFTERNOON, UH, YOU SAW JACKIE NURENBERG THERE, WHO IS LEADING MUCH OF THE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, OR I SHOULD SAY ALL OF THE COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH PROJECT CONNECT PROJECTS AND I'M KEN CARBIDE.
I'M VICE PRESIDENT OF CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES AT CAPITAL METRO.
SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TENDENCY OR INVITATION THIS AFTERNOON.
SO A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE RED LINE IMPROVEMENTS.
MOST OF YOU ARE LIKELY FAMILIAR WITH THE CAPITAL METRO RAIL RED LINE, OUR REGIONAL RAIL SYSTEM.
AND IT WENT INTO SERVICE IN ABOUT 2010 AND IT INCLUDED 32 MILES OF RED LINE TRACK AND NINE STATIONS.
AND MUCH OF THAT TRACK IS SINGLE TRACK ON LAY, NOT VERY MANY SECTIONS OF DOUBLE TRACK.
SO WITH THE PASSAGE OF PROPOSITION A, WHICH INCLUDED SOME OF THE RED LINE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS, WE EMBARKED ON A, UH, A RAIL OPTIMIZATION STUDY.
AND THAT WAS TO DETERMINE HOW WE CAN MAXIMIZE THE UTILIZATION, THE CAPACITY AND THE FREQUENCY OF OUR RED LINE SYSTEM.
AND SO THAT STUDY IS ONGOING, BUT WE'VE IDENTIFIED A NUMBER OF PROJECTS THAT WE HAVE ALREADY BEGUN.
THE ONES THAT WE'LL DISCUSS HERE THIS EVENING.
SO YOU CAN SEE IN OUR LIST HERE, IT BEGINS WITH THE LAKELINE TILL LEANDER DOUBLE TRACK PROJECT.
AND I'LL GO INTO DETAIL ON EACH ONE OF THESE, AND THEN THE BROADMORE METRO RAIL STATION, WHICH IS UP IN THE VICINITY OF THE DOMAIN AND THE MCCALLA MLS SOCCER STADIUM, METRO RAIL STATION, WHICH I'M SURE YOU'RE ALL FAMILIAR WITH THE STADIUM, OBVIOUSLY.
AND THEN SOME QUIET ZONES THAT WE ARE PLANNING TO IMPLEMENT AS WELL AS PART OF THE SYSTEM.
AND PLEASE INTERRUPT ME AT ANY POINT WITH ANY QUESTIONS THAT ANYONE HAS.
[00:05:03]
SO THE FIRST ONE IS THE LAKELINE TEAL ANDER DOUBLETRACK PROJECT.THIS IS ACTUALLY ABOUT A 3,350 LINEAL FOOT SECTION OF DOUBLE TRACKING JUST NORTH OF THE LAKE LINES, A STATION IN CEDAR PARK, SPECIFICALLY BETWEEN, UM, THE, UH, PARK STREET AND DISCOVERY BOULEVARD AND CEDAR PARK.
AND THIS SECTION BETWEEN LAKELINE AND LEANDER STATIONS IS ABOUT 10 MILES.
AND IT'S THE LONGEST SECTION OF SINGLE TRACK THAT WE HAVE IN OUR ENTIRE SYSTEM.
SO THERE'S VERY LITTLE FLEXIBILITY.
AND IN ORDER TO PROVIDE AREAS FOR OUR TRAINS TO PASS EACH OTHER, AND THAT LIMITS OUR ABILITY TO, UH, RUN MORE FREQUENTLY AND RUN A GREATER NUMBER OF TRAINS AND EVERYTHING.
SO THIS WAS ONE OF THE FIRST SECTIONS THAT WAS IDENTIFIED TO PROVIDE, UH, PROVIDE THAT OPPORTUNITY FOR INCREASED FLEXIBILITY ON THE SYSTEM IN ORDER TO CREATE CAPACITY AND FREQUENCY IMPROVEMENTS.
SO THIS SECTION OF RAIL, WE WILL ADD A SECOND TRACK TO THIS AREA.
THERE'S A BRIDGE TO BE REPLACED.
THERE'S SOME RETAINING WALLS, SOME MINOR UTILITY WORK, THE CAPITAL METRO BOARD JUST AWARDED THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THIS.
SO WE WILL BE, UH, BEGIN THE CONSTRUCTION ON THIS THIS MONTH AND IT WILL BE COMPLETED AND FALL OF NEXT YEAR.
SO, SO THAT'S OUR FIRST PROJECT.
THE NEXT PROJECT IS THE BROADMORE RAIL STATION.
THERE'S A LITTLE MAP HERE PROVIDING YOU WITH SOME ORIENTATION HERE.
SO THIS IS IN THE VICINITY OF THE DOE DOMAIN.
YOU CAN SEE THE BROADMORE STATION, THEY'RE KIND OF THE CENTER RIGHT OF THIS MAP TO THE SOUTH IS OUR CURRENT KRAMER STATION ABOUT A HALF MILE TO THE SOUTH.
THE BROADMORE STATION ITSELF IS JUST EAST OF BURNET ROAD AND EAST OF THE DOMAIN AREA, JUST SOUTH OF GRACIE FARMS ROAD.
AND IT'S ABOUT A MILE FROM THE Q2 STADIUM MILE NORTH OF THE Q2 STADIUM.
AND IT WILL POINT OUT THAT IT'S, IT WILL BE ONCE COMPLETE SERVED BY OUR METRO RAPID 8 0 3 ROUTE AS WELL AS OUR FIXED ROUTE AROUND 4 66.
SO HERE HERE'S AN AERIAL PHOTOGRAPH SHOWING THE SPECIFIC AREA.
AGAIN, I'LL GIVE, PROVIDE YOU WITH SOME ORIENTATION.
THE STATION AREA, THERE IS A THEY RED OVAL IMMEDIATE TO IMMEDIATELY TO THE RIGHT IS THE CHARLES SCHWAB CAMPUS.
AND IMMEDIATELY TO THE LEFT IS THE IBM CAMPUS.
AND THEN FURTHER TO THE LEFT THERE TO THE WEST, YOU SEE JUST A CORNER OF BURNET ROAD THERE.
AND AGAIN, THIS AREA IS JUST SOUTH OF GRACIE FARMS ROAD AND ABOUT A HALF MILE NORTH OF THE EXISTING KRAMER STATION.
YOU CAN SEE IN THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER, THAT'S TOP GOLF.
IF YOU'RE FAMILIAR WITH THAT AREA THERE.
AND HERE'S A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE STATION ITSELF, HERE'S AN ARTIST'S RENDERING OF WHAT THE STATION WOULD, WOULD LOOK LIKE AT NIGHT.
THIS IS PART OF A MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT.
IT'S A PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN BRANDYWINE DEVELOPERS AND CAPITAL METRO, AND IT WILL FEATURE, UH, DOUBLE LENGTH PLATFORMS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE TRACKS THERE.
SO WE CAN FIT TWO TRAINS NORTHBOUND AND TWO SOUTHBOUND, AND IT WILL INCLUDE ABOUT A HALF A MILE OF DOUBLE TRACKS, OR IT WILL CONNECT, UH, THE DOUBLE TRACK ALL THE WAY DOWN TO OUR KRAMER STATION AREA.
IT'LL BE, IT'LL HAVE, UH, 400 PARKING SPACES AVAILABLE AS PART OF THE DEVELOPMENT FOR TRANSIT USERS SPECIFICALLY.
AND WE'RE IN THE PROCESS OF WORKING WITH THEM TO INCORPORATE A PEDESTRIAN BIKE-FRIENDLY PATHWAYS, WHICH WAS AN IMPORTANT CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS PARTICULAR, UH, DEVELOPMENT.
AND, UH, AS WITH ALL OF OUR STATIONS, A NUMBER OF SAFETY AND SECURITY ENHANCEMENTS, UM, SOME OF THE BENEFITS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS STATION.
SO WITH THE, UH, DOMAIN BEING NEARBY AND OUR BUS CONNECTIVITY TO THE DOMAIN, AS WELL AS THE COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL AREAS THAT ARE POPPING UP IN AROUND THIS AREA, WE BELIEVE IT WILL BE A HIGH RIDERSHIP DESTINATION, ALSO A GREAT PARK AND RIDE DESTINATION FOR PEOPLE WHO WISH TO GO IN EITHER DIRECTION.
FROM THIS POINT WITH A NUMBER OF PARKING SPACES AVAILABLE THERE, IT WILL BE PART OF THIS MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT, AND WE'LL LEVERAGE BOTH PRIVATE, PRIVATE AND PUBLIC FUNDS IN ORDER TO DEVELOP THE STATION.
AND THIS IS IN SUPPORT OF THIS PROJECT IS IN SUPPORT OF THE IMAGINED AUSTIN VISION THAT YOU'RE ALL VERY FAMILIAR WITH.
DOES IT HAVE DIRECT ACCESS TO THE, EITHER THE CHARLES SCHWAB CAMPUS WITH IBM CAMPUS AS DIRECT ACCESS TO THE CHARLES SCHWAB CAMPUS ON THE IBM CAMPUS? I BELIEVE YOU HAVE TO TAKE A SIDEWALK AROUND TO GET TO THAT PARTICULAR CAMPUS.
I ACTUALLY HAVE SOME QUESTIONS.
DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS STATION NOW? OR DO YOU WANT TO GET THROUGH THE PRESENTATION AND COME BACK? SURE.
I HAVE A COUPLE OF ONE OR TWO MORE SLIDES ON THIS STATION.
AND THEN DO YOU WANT ME TO PAUSE AND YOU CAN ASK ME QUESTIONS.
[00:10:02]
OKAY.SO GO AHEAD AND PLEASE ASK ME, UM, SO I HAPPEN TO KNOW THIS AREA PRETTY WELL.
I LIVE IN THE APARTMENT COMPLEX THAT IS ADJACENT TO THIS SITE.
SO MY, ONE OF MY QUESTIONS IS WHEN PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE RA MODEL OF THE STATION, THERE'S A LOT OF DISCUSSION OF, YOU KNOW, SCHWAB IBM AND THE DOMAIN.
AND THERE'S A TON THERE'S LITERALLY HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE JUST NORTH OF THIS AT THE RADIUS APARTMENTS, THE APARTMENTS ON GRACIE FARMS, AND THEN EVEN A LITTLE BIT FARTHER, UM, EAST ON THE APARTMENTS ALONG METRIC.
AND SO I LIKE ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I'VE BEEN KIND OF, I KNOW THIS WHOLE AREA IS ABOUT TO GET TORN UP AS A CONSTRUCTION, LIKE ONE OF THE WHOLE PARKING LOTS THAT YOU SEE IN THE, IN THE FIRST IMAGE THAT YOU SHOWED THE TOP LEFT CORNER, THAT'S ALL JUST BEEN TORN UP AND IT STARTING, THEY'RE STARTING TO BUILD BUILDINGS THERE.
SO IT'S ALL GOING TO BE CHANGING A LOT.
WHAT HAVE Y'ALL TALKED ABOUT AS FAR AS LIKE PEDESTRIAN ACCESS FROM PEOPLE COMING FROM THE NORTH, FROM THOSE NEIGHBORHOODS AND GRACIE FARMS AND HOBBY HORSE, AND OVER FROM METRIC.
AND PARTICULARLY, I WILL SAY WITH CHARLOTTE SWAB BECAUSE THE IBM CAMPUS IS REALLY POOREST.
LIKE THERE'S TONS OF PEOPLE FROM MY APARTMENT COMPLEX, LITERALLY JUST DOING EXERCISE IN THE PARKING LOT SINCE THE PANDEMIC HAPPENED, IT'S LIKE A COMMUNITY EXERCISE AREA.
THE CHARLES SCHWAB CAMPUS IS KIND OF MORE FORTRESS.
THEY HAVE REALLY HIGH FENCES, EVERYTHING'S LOCKED DOWN AND YOU CAN'T, UM, THEY HAVE TRAILS AND WALKING TRAILS AND ALL THIS STUFF, BUT IF YOU'RE NOT AFFILIATED WITH SCHWAB, YOU CAN'T GET IN.
SO HOW ARE YOU THINKING THROUGH SORT OF LIKE THE PERCOLATION OF PEDESTRIANS, NOT JUST FROM THE DOMAIN AND THE BROADMORE SITE, BUT ALSO FROM THE NORTH AND FROM THE EAST.
THAT'S A VERY GOOD POINT, AS YOU MENTIONED.
I MEAN, THIS AREA IS REALLY GROWING, UH, IN THE SPECIFIC AREA OF THE SITE.
SO WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH THE DEVELOPER ON PEDESTRIAN AND BIKE WAYS THROUGH THIS PARTICULAR SIDE NORTH TO SOUTH THERE.
AND SO THEY HAVE, THEY ARE INCLUDING THOSE IN SOME OF THEIR FINAL DESIGNS TO JUST MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE ACCESS NORTH TO SOUTH.
I I'LL HAVE TO VERIFY IF IT GOES ALL THE WAY TO METRIC OR NOT THOUGH.
SO LET ME LOOK INTO THAT AND I CAN FOLLOW UP WITH CHRISTOPHER AND PROVIDE THAT INFORMATION TO YOU, BUT, UM, I CAN SHARE THAT WITH YOU AS WELL.
I MIGHT SEND SHE'S WALKING IN.
SHE IS OUR EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF STRATEGIC PLANNING, AND SHE MIGHT ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO ASSIST WITH THIS PARTICULAR ANSWER.
THE QUESTION WAS RELATED TO PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLE CONNECTIVITY, NORTH AND SOUTH THROUGH THE SITE, AS YOU KNOW, UP NORTH THROUGH METRIC AND THE APARTMENT COMPLEXES, AND THEN SOUTH TOWARD THE BREAKER LANE AREA, REALLY SORRY TO BE LATE, UH, JUST WENT TO THE WRONG ENTRANCE AND JUST TOOK A LITTLE BIT LONGER APOLOGIZE FOR THAT.
SO FOR BROADMORE, IT'S A MUCH LARGER, UH, MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT, AS YOU KNOW, THAT STATION IS BEING A PART OF THAT.
SO THERE, THERE ARE DISTINCT PEDESTRIAN PATHWAYS ON BOTH SIDES.
WE ARE W THERE'S ALSO A SHARED USE PATH THAT GOES BEHIND THE DEVELOPMENT, AND THEN THERE'S A CONTINUE CONTINUOUS ARBONNE TRAIL.
UM, THAT WOULD BE, UM, NEXT TO THE STATION.
SO THERE ARE MULTIPLE WAYS AND THEY'RE CONNECTED THROUGH THE COMMON SPACE AND GOING KIND OF AROUND THE DEVELOPMENT AS WELL AS CONTINUOUS TO THE, UH, NEXT TO THE STATION PLATFORM.
SO THERE ARE TWO, TWO SHARED PATH SHARED USE PATH.
ALIGNMENTS ONE IS A MUCH LONGER WIDER BEHIND THE DEVELOPMENT AND IS MORE, ONE IS MORE CONTINUOUS NEXT TO THE STATION.
SO ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT LIKE THE RED LINE TRAIL THERE? SO THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT RED LINE TRIM ALIGNMENTS.
IN ADDITION TO THAT, THE, THE CENTER FROM THE CENTER PLATFORM TO THE EDGE OF THE STATION, UM, FROM THERE CONNECTING, UM, THE, FROM THAT POINT, CONNECTING TO THE DEVELOPING, THERE ARE THREE DIFFERENT PEDESTRIAN ACCESS PATHS BASED ON THE LAST MASTER PLAN THAT WE HAVE SEEN.
SO PART OF THE QUESTION I HAD TOO, WAS NOT JUST, I'M VERY CONFIDENT THAT THIS SITE IS TAKING INTO ACCOUNT PEDESTRIANS AND BICYCLISTS FROM THE DOMAIN AND FROM THE BROADMORE REDEVELOPMENT, WHAT I'M REALLY CONCERNED.
I LIVE AT THIS, I LIVE AT THE APARTMENT COMPLEX JUST TO THE NORTH.
SO WHAT I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT IS THERE'S A LOT OF MIDDLE AND LOW INCOME PEOPLE, FRANKLY, THAT LIVE AT THOSE APARTMENTS TO THE, TO THE NORTH ON GRACIE FARMS AND HOBBY HORSE, AND THEN TO THE EAST ON METRIC.
AND SO I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE, LIKE WHAT TYPES OF CONNECTIVITY WAYFINDING ARE BEING DONE FOR THE PEOPLE THAT ARE ALREADY LIVING THERE NOW, NOT IN THE DOMAIN, BUT LIKE IN THE AREAS THAT ARE RIGHT THERE.
UM, I THINK, UH, SUSAN, WHAT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE THAT, UM, I WOULD GO BACK TO THE BROADMORE CONSULTANT AND THE TEAM ON OUR CAP, METRO DESIGN TEAM TO GET MORE SPECIFIC ANSWERS FOR YOU IN PROBLEM.
AND EITHER 10 OR I WILL CIRCLE BACK ON THE CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN THE APARTMENT TO THIS TRAIN STATION.
[00:15:01]
A VERY VALID POINT.I DON'T HAVE AN EXACT ANSWER, BUT WE DO HAVE MANY DIAGRAMS THAT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO, LIKE WHEN I GO BACK AND VERIFY AND BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU A BETTER ANSWER.
AND I'M SORRY, JUST A QUICK, SO IF INDEED, THERE, THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE CONNECTIVITY FOR EQUITY.
IS THIS PROJECT SO FAR ALONG THAT THAT IS, I MEAN, THERE COMES A POINT WHEN YOU CAN'T JUST KEEP CHANGING THE PROJECT.
AND SO I'M JUST CURIOUS WHERE THIS ONE WOULD STAND.
IF THERE DID NEED TO BE MORE CONNECTED, THE TWO PEOPLE WHO WERE, YOU KNOW, LIVING NEARBY, BUT WANTED TO BE ABLE TO TAKE THE RAPID TRANSIT.
UM, SO THE PROJECT HAS BEEN BUILT IN THREE PHASES.
FIRST ONE IS THE STATION IN THE INITIAL, UM, UH, AREA AROUND IT.
IT'S A LITTLE BIT, I DON'T HAVE THE EXACT, UM, PERMITTING APPLICATION AND THE COMPONENTS THAT GO INTO THE PROGRAM, BUT I'D BE HAPPY, HAPPY TO SHARE THAT BLOCK L WHICH IS THE SECOND PART INCLUDES THE OTHER LARGER, WIDER SHARED USE PATH THAT I TALKED ABOUT.
AND THEN THERE'S A THIRD PHASE THAT IS SEPARATED IN TIME TO SHORT ANSWER TO THAT.
WITHIN REASON IT CAN BE ACCOMMODATED.
UM, I THINK KEN MAY HAVE ALREADY MENTIONED THAT IT'S A PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP.
WE'RE WORKING WITH BRANDYWINE REAL ESTATE, BUT WE HAVE BEEN VERY, UM, REALTY AND TRUST RATHER.
AND WE'VE BEEN LIKE, WE'VE BEEN COORDINATING REALLY WELL, SO WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO PASS ON THOSE COMMENTS AND ADDRESS THEM AS, AS THE DESIGN PROGRESSES FOR THOSE.
AND I SHOULD JUST SAY TOO, I THINK FOR ME THAT LIKE MY GREATEST FEAR IS LIKE THE STATION OPENS AND THEN THEY PUT UP LIKE A BIG CONSTRUCTION FENCE BETWEEN MY APARTMENT AND THE STATION.
SO LIKE, LET'S JUST REMEMBER THAT LIKE, CAUSE WE IN PLANNING SOMETIMES WE THINK ABOUT LIKE, YOU KNOW, THE, THE DISCRETE SITES, BUT THERE'S A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT WOULD WANT TO USE THAT SITE AND ARE, ARE KIND OF USING THAT SITE ALREADY AS, ALMOST LIKE A RECREATIONAL FACILITY OVER THERE AT WHERE PEOPLE WALK THEIR DOGS AND EVERYTHING FROM MY APARTMENT COMPLEX.
SO I JUST THINK IT'S WORTH CONSIDERING, AND I'M SURE WE CAN FIGURE IT OUT.
SO YEAH, ACTUALLY KEN AND I HEARD THE SAME COMMENT, UH, UH, BETWEEN, UH, FOR THE SEGMENT BETWEEN KRAMER AND BROADMORE, UH, CREAMER STATION.
WE, WE HEARD THAT SO MANY, UM, UH, JUST NOT JUST PASSERS BY TO RETAIL, BUT THERE ARE ACTUALLY AREAS GROWING.
THERE ARE A LOT OF NEED FOR CONNECTIVITY AND THAT, THAT, THAT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT FOR CONSTRUCTION PHASING.
I APPRECIATE YOU BRINGING THAT UP CAUSE THAT'S CERTAINLY A PRIORITY.
WE WANT TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE CONNECTIVITY ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE SITE AND EVERYTHING.
SO THANK YOU FOR YOUR QUESTIONS.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER BROADMORE QUESTIONS WE CAN MOVE ON TO THE MCKELLA STATION? THAT'S OKAY.
AND THEN WE CAN ALWAYS COME BACK.
SO, UM, I'M SO SORRY TO INTERRUPT.
WE ACTUALLY HAVE KATIE WEBTECH, UM, WHO, WHO CAN SPEAK MORE ON, UM, UH, A LITTLE BIT OF THIS.
SO JUST GIVE US, GIVE ME A FEW MOMENTS.
SO KATIE'S OUR PARTNER IN URBAN TRAIL AND THANK YOU FOR JUMPING IN.
YOU BARELY HAD TIME TO GET YOUR BAG OFF AND YOU HAD A QUESTION FAIRLY IMPRESSIVE.
KATIE, WE LOST YOU THERE FOR A MOMENT.
AND NOW WE CAN HEAR YOU, KATIE.
WE LOST YOU THERE FOR A MOMENT.
WELL, UM, OKAY, KATIE, IT MIGHT BE BETTER TO SHUT DOWN ALL OTHER APPLICATIONS YOU'RE USING.
MAYBE LOG OUT AND LOG BACK IN AND WE'LL LET YOU BACK IN.
[00:20:01]
IN THE MEANTIME, IT MIGHT BE BEST TO PROCEED.AND THEN WE CAN COME BACK TO THE REDLINE PARKWAY QUESTIONS AS THEY COME UP.
MOVING ON TO THE MCCALLA MLS METRO RAIL STATION.
SO, UH, ANOTHER MAP HERE, I'LL PROVIDE YOU WITH A LITTLE BIT OF ORIENTATION.
SO THIS IS SOUTH OF THE BROADMORE STATION THAT WE MENTIONED.
IT'S ALSO JUST SOUTH OF OUR KRAMER STATION, WHICH WOULD BE AT THE TOP OF THIS PICTURE.
THERE, YOU CAN SEE THE MLS STADIUM THERE ON THE TOP, LEFT THE TRIANGULAR SITE THERE.
AND THE LITTLE YELLOW RECTANGLE INDICATES THE LOCATION OF THE STATION AND REASON WE'VE SHOWN A GREATER, UM, AREA AROUND THE STATION HERE IS THAT JUST SOUTH OF THIS AREA, WE HAVE OUR NORTH OPPOSITES IN A WAY AND OPS ON THE MAP.
IT'S OUR NORTH OPERATIONS FACILITY AND THAT'S WHERE OUR RAIL SERVICE, OUR RED LINE SERVICE IS HEADQUARTERED.
SO WE OPERATE OUT OF THAT FACILITY, WHICH ACTUALLY LENDS ITSELF REALLY WELL TO THE OPERATIONS RELATED TO THIS PARTICULAR STATION.
SO IT IS A STATION PROJECT AS WELL.
UH, BUT IN ADDITION TO THAT, WE HAVE A SEPARATE BUT RELATED DOUBLE TRACKING PROJECT SO THAT WE'RE DOUBLE TRACKING FROM OUR NORTH OPS FACILITY ALL THE WAY TO CONNECTING WITH THE BROADMORE DOUBLE TRACKING THERE AT OUR CURRENT KRAMER STATION.
AND THE CONCEPT THAT IS THAT ONCE THE MCCALLA STATION AND THE BROADMORE STATION ARE IN SERVICE, THERE'LL BE ABOUT A MILE APART.
SO WE WILL NO LONGER NEED THE KRAMER STATION.
SO WE WOULD CLOSE THAT ONE AT THAT POINT IN TIME, BUT ONLY WHEN THE OTHER TWO ARE IN OPERATION, BUT THIS PARTICULAR ONE NEW, UH, PASSENGER RAIL STATION, UH, WE, UH, WOULD HAVE PROVIDE, UH, THE RAIL PLATFORM ITSELF.
IT'S IMMEDIATELY OUTSIDE THE BACK FENCE OF THE Q2 STADIUM.
SO IT'S RIGHT THERE AT THE BACK OF THE STADIUM.
UH, WE ARE WORKING WITH, UM, THE, THE MLS TEAM ON CROWD CONTROL AND CROWD STAGING RELATED TO THEIR EVENTS.
AND WE'RE ALSO MAKING SURE THAT THIS STATION IS A GOOD STATION FOR NORMAL EVERYDAY AND WEEKEND SERVICE OUTSIDE OF THE, UM, THE SOCCER MATCHES THAT TAKE PLACE AT THE STADIUM.
SO THERE'LL BE A LOT OF CROWD CONTROL RELATED TO THIS.
OBVIOUSLY WE WOULD BE DOING OUR, UH, SIGNALING AND RAIL CONTROL SYSTEMS. WE'LL HAVE SOME DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS TO WORK ON SOME GRADE CROSSINGS.
THE DOUBLE TRACKING CROSSES SEVERAL INTERSECTIONS.
SO WE'LL BE WORKING ON THOSE AND THEN WE'LL HAVE A SIDEWALK CONNECTIVITY FROM THE STATION UP TO A BREAKER LANE JUST TO PROVIDE THAT ACCESS POINT THERE AS WELL AS WE INCORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY FEATURES AND SEEK SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATION ON ALL OF OUR PROJECTS, IT DOESN'T SEEM TO WANT TO ADVANCE.
SO THIS IS AN AERIAL PHOTOGRAPH, THE EXISTING, UM, OR A RECENT AERIAL PHOTOGRAPH IN THE, UH, FOREGROUND.
THERE IS A DELTA DRIVE, AND THEN YOU CAN SEE THE RED OVAL THERE WHERE IT'S A, THAT WILL BE THE ACTUAL STATION AREA.
AGAIN, IT'S IMMEDIATELY AT THE BACK FENCE OF THE STADIUM THERE.
YOU CAN SEE THEIR AMPHITHEATER AND THEIR SORT OF PUBLIC GATHERING SPACE THERE AT THE REAR OF THE STADIUM.
THIS IS AN ARTIST RENDERING OF WHAT THAT MIGHT LOOK LIKE.
WE'RE AT A ABOUT 30% DESIGN NOW.
SO WE'RE WORKING ON THESE CONCEPTS.
WHAT WE DO KNOW IS THAT WE WILL HAVE, UM, TWO PLATFORMS, UH, ONE IN EACH DIRECTION, THAT'LL EACH HOLD, TWO TRAINS.
AND THEN WE'RE ALSO JUST SOUTH OF THOSE TWO PLATFORMS. WE'RE GOING TO BUILD A SPECIAL EVENT PLATFORM, WHICH CAN HOLD TWO MORE TRAINS.
SO WE WILL USE THAT DURING SOCCER MATCHES OR OTHER CONCERTS, ESPECIALLY FOR SPECIAL EVENTS DURING NORMAL WEEKDAY AND WEEKEND SERVICE, WE'LL USE THE TWO PLATFORMS WHERE WE CAN DOUBLE STRAP STACK TRAINS, BUT THEN SPECIAL EVENTS WE'LL ADD THE SPECIAL EVENT PLATFORM.
SO, UH, WHICH WILL BE, UH, UH, KEY AFTER THE EVENTS.
PEOPLE TEND TO TRICKLE INTO THE MATCHES AND THEN THEY ALL LEAVE AT THE SAME TIME AFTERWARDS.
SO WE'LL BE ABLE TO STAGE UP TO SIX TRAINS TO GO BOTH NORTH AND SOUTH IN THOSE PLATFORMS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THAT.
AND THEN WITH, UH, THE FORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCE OF HAVING OUR NORTH OPS FACILITY NEARBY, WE'LL HAVE OTHER TRAIN STAGE.
SO AS SOON AS THEY, THOSE DEPARTMENT WILL BRING NUTRIENTS TO THE STATION AND THEN DISPERSE AGAIN.
SO WE'LL DO THAT THROUGHOUT THE MAY IN ORDER TO DISPERSE THE CROWD.
AND I'LL PAUSE THERE TO SEE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE WE MOVE ON, UH, REGARDING THE MCCALLA
[00:25:01]
STATION.ALL RIGHT, THEN THE, UH, THE LAST CURRENT PROJECT, AND WE HAVE MORE PROJECTS IN THE WORKS, BUT, UH, IN TERMS OF TODAY'S UPDATE, WE'LL HAVE ADDITIONAL QUIET ZONES THAT WE'RE WORKING ON.
SO THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE 32 MILE CORRIDOR, WE'VE BEEN WORKING TO ESTABLISH QUIET ZONES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SYSTEM.
AND WE'RE ACTUALLY DOWN TO THE POINT WHERE WE HAVE ABOUT THESE LAST FOUR AREAS, WHICH DO NOT HAVE QUIET ZONES.
AND THE QUIET ZONE ALLOWS FOR THE TRAIN TO PASS THROUGH WITHOUT BLOWING THE HORN, WHICH WE, UH, GET A LOT OF FEEDBACK, ESPECIALLY IN NEIGHBORHOODS ABOUT THAT, WHERE IN THE, YOU KNOW, LATE IN THE EVENING, WE HAVE TO BLOW THE HORN.
IF THE CARS IN THE INTERSECTION OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, BY ESTABLISHING A QUIET, A QUIET ZONE, WE INSTALL QUAD GATES.
THEY COMPLETELY BLOCK OFF THE INTERSECTION TO PROVIDE PREVENT CARS FROM TRAVELING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION WHEN THE TRAIN IS PASSING.
AND SO WE'RE INITIATING THESE LAST FOUR QUIET ZONES.
WE'RE ACTUALLY IN THE DESIGN PHASE OF THOSE NOW AND SHOULD HAVE THESE IN PLACE IN ABOUT THE NEXT YEAR AND A HALF.
SO YOU CAN SEE IT'S AT RUNDBERG, RUTLAND BREAKER AND KRAMER LANE.
AND WITH THAT, THAT'S JUST A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF OUR RED LINE IMPROVEMENTS THAT WE CURRENTLY HAVE.
AS I MENTIONED, WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF CONDUCTING A RAIL OPTIMIZATION STUDY, WHICH WILL IDENTIFY ADDITIONAL SECTIONS OF DOUBLE TRACKING TO IMPLEMENT, TO FURTHER IMPROVE OUR SERVICE AND IMPROVE THE FREQUENCY AND THE CAPACITY, BUT LIKE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE AT THIS POINT.
YES, RIGHT NOW THE RED LINE RUNS ABOUT TWICE AN HOUR.
AND DURING CONGESTION PERIODS, PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THAT AREA WOULD BE BETTER OFF TO THE EIGHT OR THREE BUS AS THEY'RE SPOT ON TIME COMING INTO THE STATION.
AND I WOULD PRESUME THAT THE DOUBLE TRACKING WILL ENABLE RUNNING A MORE FREQUENT SCHEDULE.
AND THAT'S THE GOAL WITH ALL OF THE DOUBLE TRACKING PROJECTS IS AS WE IMPLEMENT EACH NEW SECTION OF THE DOUBLE TRACKING, WE DETERMINE HOW MUCH WE CAN IMPROVE IN TERMS OF FREQUENCY AND CAPACITY AT THAT POINT.
WHAT'S YOUR, WHAT'S YOUR ULTIMATE? DO YOU HAVE AN ULTIMATE FORECAST YET WHERE YOU DONE DOUBLE TRACKING ALL THOSE ACTIONS? SURE.
UM, SO THE RED LINE OPTIMIZATION IS LOOKING AT, UM, INCREASING FREQUENCY THAT'S AND, AND MAKE IT AS RELIABLE AS POSSIBLE.
SO WITH THAT AND SPECIAL EVENT REQUIREMENTS AND WITH OSTEON FC COMING, UM, I MEAN, IT'S ALREADY IN PLACE WITH A NEW STATION COMING, UM, ADDING TO EXISTING REDLINE.
I THINK OUR IT'S DEFINITELY, WE'RE TRYING TO STRIKE A BALANCE BETWEEN, UH, WHAT'S OUR UP KIND OF OPTIMAL FREQUENCY ON A WEEKDAY AND WEEKEND.
SO WE, WE DO NOT HAVE A TARGET.
WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO DO IS SEE HOW FAR, HOW MUCH FURTHER CAN IT BE IMPROVED? WE'RE LOOKING AT BETWEEN, LIKE, WE EVEN LOOKED AT 15 TO 20 MINUTES FREQUENCIES, BUT THE SENIOR OPERATIONAL SCENARIOS ARE BEING VETTED RIGHT NOW.
SO, UH, EACH SCENARIO WOULD COME ITS OWN DOUBLE TRACKING REQUIREMENTS, OWN STORAGE TRACK IN ADDITIONAL, UH, BRIDGES AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS THAT NEED TO TAKE PLACE.
SO WE HAVEN'T RECEIVED THAT FINAL REPORT YET.
WE'RE IN THE PROCESS OF RUNNING THOSE OPERATIONAL SCENARIOS.
NOW, RIDERSHIP IS THE AESTHETIC TO SAY A KIND WORD.
UH, IT'S ACTUALLY KIND, IT'S ABOUT 2000 PEOPLE A DAY, THE 8 0 3 BUS, WHICH JUST MEANT BY THERE IS REACHING 8,000 A DAY BEFORE PRE COVID AND THE COST OF THE TIME I TALK ABOUT COST MUCH.
UM, SO IT'S REALLY, REALLY IMPORTANT THAT THE CAPACITY OF THAT LINE BE IMPROVED.
NOW, DID YOU KNOW THAT CTRM IS BUILDING YOU A WHOLE NEW BUS, RAPID TRANSIT ROUTE IN ABOUT FOUR YEARS, THEY WILL OPEN UP TWO MORE LANES IN EACH DIRECTION.
TWO MORE MANAGED LANES, TOTAL TOLD, MANAGED LANES HOW THEY GOT AWAY WITH THAT.
I DON'T KNOW, IN EACH DIRECTION.
AND NOT ONLY IS THAT GOING TO MAKE THE BUSES, BUSES ARE NOW WITHIN FOUR OR FIVE MINUTES OF THE TRAIN, I'M NOT SURE WHICH IS FASTER.
AS A MATTER OF FACT, THAT WAS TOLD LANES ARE GOING TO LET BUSES AT 9 85 SERVICE KIND OF GOES IN A STRANGE ROUTE.
IT GOES ON 45 TO GET OVER TO MOPAC AND DOWNLOAD PACK ON THE TOLL WAY.
SO THAT TAKES IT FAR OUT OF ITS WAY TO USE THAT LITTLE BIT OF TOLL LANE, EVEN.
SO THE RESULTS HAVE BEEN SPECTACULAR IN TERMS OF RIDERSHIP.
AND IN ABOUT FOUR YEARS, CTR MAY WILL COMPLETE THE TWO NEW, UH, TOLL LANES IN EACH DIRECTION.
[00:30:01]
AND I WOULD GUESS THAT A BUS USING THOSE LANES WOULD BE SIGNIFICANTLY FASTER THAN THE TRAIN.I THINK AS MORE PEOPLE MOVE TO AUSTIN, WE NEED MORE AND MORE MASS TRANSIT.
SO BETWEEN THE BUS AND THE TRAIN, WE HAVE LOTS OF OPTIONS.
THEY WOULDN'T BE MOVING TO AUSTIN.
THAT'S WHAT YOU OKAY, THEN THAT'S FINE.
BUT FEWER PEOPLE HAVE TO TAKE A CAR.
WELL, IT'S STILL GOING TO BE THE TRAIN TRAINS.
AND IF PEOPLE ARE GOING TO PREFER THE BUS OVER THE TRAIN AND YOU HAVE TO ASK, IS THAT WHERE THE MONEY SHOULD GO? SHOULDN'T SOME PEOPLE PREFER TRAINS OVER BUSES.
I WOULD RATHER GO A LITTLE BIT LONGER AND RIDE A TRAIN.
IT'S ACTUALLY BUILT INTO THE RIDERSHIP ESTIMATION MODELS, BUT STILL WHEN IT'S 10 OR 15 MINUTES SLOWER TO TAKE THE TRAIN AND YOU GOT TO GET TO WORK, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? UM, SO JUST ON OUR END, I THINK OUR PERSPECTIVE HERE IS THAT WE REALIZED THAT, UH, PRE COVID, UH, IN FEBRUARY OF 2019, WE WERE EXPERIENCING CONSISTENT OVERCROWDING ON WEEKDAY RIDERSHIP ON REDLINE AND ACROSS THE NATION, ACROSS OUR INDUSTRY, UH, ALL COMMUTER LINE, INCLUDING BUS AND RAIL HAVE EXPERIENCED STEADY DECLINE, INVITER SHIP, ACTUALLY SHARP DECLINE IN RIDERSHIP WHEN COVID HEAD.
SO WE ARE VERY CONSISTENT WITH THAT PATTERN.
SO WHAT'S HAPPENING IN COVID IS NECESSARILY NOT WHAT WE'RE GOING TO BE USING AS BASELINE TO MOVE FORWARD.
AND, UM, WE'RE SEEING THIS AS A, ANOTHER TOOL IN OUR TOOLBOX, IMPROVED FREQUENCY ON RED LINE, MAKE IT AS RELIABLE AS POSSIBLE ARE IN FOUR YEARS, WE ALSO WOULD HAVE EXPLOITED PLEASANT VALLEY, THE TWO NEW METRO RAPID LINES, UM, AND SOUTH LAMAR AS WELL AS GOLD LINES.
SO WE WOULD HAVE ADDITIONAL TOOLS IN OUR TOOLBOX.
SO YES, NO BIAS BETWEEN BUS AND RAIL.
SO I'LL KIND OF FOLLOW UP TO RUBEN'S QUESTION IN A DIFFERENT WAY.
UM, SO AT ONE TIME SORT OF EARLY ON IN THE PROJECT CONNECT PROCESS, PRETTY EARLY ON LIKE MAYBE 2015 OR 2016, SOMEWHERE IN THERE, 20 EARLY IN THE PROJECT CONNECT PROCESS.
AND THERE WERE A LOT OF CHANGES IN TURNS DURING THAT, THAT PROCESS, RIGHT? THERE WAS A LOT OF TALK OF FULLY DOUBLE TRACKING.
AND I THINK THAT SOME FOLKS THOUGHT IS THAT THE BEST USE OF OUR SCARCE DOLLARS, BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE FROM WHAT I'M HEARING YOU SAY ABOUT, THERE'S AN OPERATIONAL STUDY GOING ON RIGHT NOW, YOU'RE TRYING TO REALLY ASSESS YOU.
TELL ME IF I'M SUMMING THIS UP, RIGHT.
YOU'RE TRYING TO ASSESS WHAT IS THE BEST COST BENEFIT OF LIKE, SHOULD WE CONTINUE WITH THE GOAL OF DOUBLE TRACKING THE WHOLE THING, OR JUST SORT OF TARGET SPECIFIC AREAS SO WE CAN OPTIMIZE OUR SERVICE WHILE, YOU KNOW, NOT NECESSARILY BLOWING THE BANK TO DOUBLE TRACK THE WHOLE THING, BUT FINDING WAYS THAT WE CAN MAKE SURE TO LIKE RELIEVE SOME OF THE CROWDING FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE WRITING THAT, THAT SERVICE, IS THAT AN ACCURATE WAY TO PUT IT? I THINK THAT ACCURATELY CAPTURES IT.
WE ARE ESSENTIALLY BALANCING OPERATIONAL IMPROVEMENT WITH RETURN ON INVESTMENT.
SO THAT IS ENTIRELY THIS OPTIMIZATION STUDY THAT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW.
AND WE BELIEVE THAT WE'RE, WE'RE BALANCING THE TWO NEEDS VERY CLOSELY, ALMOST SEGMENT BY SEGMENT BASIS AND COMPARING IT WITH OUR PRE COVID RIDERSHIP.
SO WE HAVE A BETTER BASIS TO WORK OFF OF.
I WANT TO JUMP INTO JUST A MOMENT.
I SEE THE KT IS BACK ON THE LINE.
IS IT STILL IS SHE'S READY TO GO IF WE, AND EVERYONE, UM, HOPEFULLY YOU CAN HEAR ME THIS TIME.
SO JUST JUMPING BACK TO THE CONVERSATION ABOUT THE CONNECTION NORTH FROM BROADMORE, UM, WHAT URBAN TRAILS HAS BEEN WORKING ON.
THERE'S ULTIMATELY A VISION FOR A RED LINE TRAIL THAT RUNS FROM DOWNTOWN AUSTIN TO DOWNTOWN LEANDER AND PORTIONS OF THIS HAVE ALREADY BEEN CONSTRUCTED.
AND THE PORTION WE'RE WORKING ON NOW AND WORKING VERY CLOSELY WITH CAPITAL METRO IS, UM, A SEGMENT FROM RAKER NORTH TO NORTHERN WALNUT CREEK TRAIL.
SO THIS WOULD PROVIDE THAT CONNECTION THAT YOU'RE ASKING FOR FROM THE NEW BROAD BOMBER STATION NORTH TO GRACIE FARMS AND PROVIDE MORE CONNECTION TO THE DIFFERENT APARTMENT COMPLEXES UP THERE TO THE OTHER USES THAT ARE UP THERE AND TO NORTHERN WALNUT CREEK TRAIL, WHICH PROVIDES AN EAST-WEST CONNECTION FOR LEARN NORMS. IS THAT, IS THAT GOING TO BE ON THE, OR DO YOU KNOW WHAT, WHAT SIDE OF THE RAIL IS THAT GOING TO BE ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE WEST SIDE OF THE RAIL LINE, WE'RE CURRENTLY STILL WORKING TO FIGURE OUT THE EXACT ALIGNMENT OR WORKING REALLY CLOSELY WITH ALL OF THE PROPERTY OWNERS IN THE AREA.
AND WE HOPE TO BE ABLE TO ANSWER THAT IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS, WE HAVE A FEW SCENARIOS THAT WE'RE JUST RUNNING
[00:35:01]
BY EVERYONE BEFORE WE KIND OF START GOING PUBLIC WITH AN ALIGNMENT.WELL, IF YOU NEED ANYBODY TO BUG THEIR APARTMENT COMPLEX, JUST GIVE ME A CALL.
ARE THERE MORE QUESTIONS? COMMENTS.
WELL, THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
AND WE'LL LOOK FORWARD TO VISITING WITH YOU AGAIN WHEN WE HAVE MORE UPDATES TO REVIVE.
[2B. Selection of Representative for the Downtown Austin Plan Working Group]
ONTO THE NEXT ITEM UNDER NEW BUSINESS AND THE FINAL ITEM FOR TODAY, A SELECTION OF REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE DOWNTOWN AUSTIN PLAN WORKING GROUP THOUGH.MAYBE THAT'S NOT THE EXACT RIGHT TITLE.
YEAH, I, UH, YOU KNOW, I COULD HAVE BEEN CONFUSED WHEN WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THIS LAST MONTH, BUT I, I THOUGHT I PASSED ALONG THAT WE CANNOT AS A BODY APPOINT SOMEONE TO A DOWNTOWN COMMISSION WORKING GROUP, UNLESS THEY'RE A MEMBER OF THAT COMMISSION.
SO IT'S NOT APPOINTING SOMEONE TO REPRESENT OUR GROUP.
AND THE POINT IS I'D BE HAPPY TO RESIGN IF SOMEONE ELSE IS INTERESTED IN TAKING THAT POSITION, OTHERWISE I WILL VOLUNTEER TO BE ACTIVE IN THE WORKING GROUP, BUT, UH, BUT I WOULD CERTAINLY, YOU KNOW, I KNOW THE PREVIOUS PERSON REPRESENTING UTC, WASN'T ABLE TO MAKE MEETINGS.
I'VE BEEN ABLE TO, I'M VERY INVOLVED IN ATTENDING AND PARTICIPATING, BUT IF SOMEONE ELSE AT THIS POINT, WE'VE HAD A LOT OF NEW MEMBERS AND I WANT TO GIVE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO PARTICIPATE IF THEY DESIRE TO.
OKAY, WELL, LET'S OPEN THE FLOOR FOR DISCUSSION.
UM, I SEE SOME PEOPLE ONLINE, UH, NATHAN AND JAMES AND ANYONE IN THIS ROOM.
DOES ANYONE WANT TO RAISE THEIR HAND OR HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT WHAT THIS WOULD ENTAIL? THIS IS A COMMISSIONER RYAN, AND I JUST WANT TO SAY, I WISH I COULD BE THERE WITH ALL Y'ALL TODAY, BUT I'M A SINGLE DOG DAD THIS WEEK AND TAKE CARE OF THE DOGS.
UM, BUT, UM, I THINK I REITERATED THIS LAST TIME.
UH, BUT I THINK I HAVE A FEW, TWO COMMITMENTS AT THIS POINT.
AND SO, UH, I'M GOING TO WITHDRAW MY MYSELF FROM THAT.
IS THERE ANYONE ELSE WHO IS NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE BOOKED ON VARIOUS CONDITIONS AND IS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER FLAT? WELL THEN COMMISSIONER WHERE THE VA I THINK, UH, IT REMAINS WITH YOU IF YOU WERE OKAY WITH THAT.
BE GLAD AS I SAID TO PARTICIPATE, BUT AT ANY TIME, IF ANYBODY DECIDES THEY WANT TO CHANGE THEIR MIND, THAT WOULD BE FUN TOO.
IT IS, IT IS AN INTERESTING COMMISSION TO ATTEND AND BE INVOLVED WITH BECAUSE YOU KNOW, THERE'S A LOT GOING ON DOWNTOWN.
WELL, LET'S CHECK IN, IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND SEE, OKAY, THANK YOU.
SO THAT BRINGS US TO THE END OF NEW BUSINESS.
[3. STAFF BRIEFINGS]
THROUGH SOME STAFF BRIEFINGS, UH, DOWNTOWN COMMISSION.WELL, I HAVE TO REPORT THAT I WAS UNABLE TO ATTEND THE LAST COMMISSION MEETING BECAUSE I WAS OUT IN THE WILDERNESS SELF EXILED WILDERNESS.
UH, BUT, UH, THERE'S NOT A TAPE OF A VIDEO OF THE PROGRAM, BUT I'D KNOW THAT THEY DID GO OVER ALL OF THE CONVENTION CENTER INFORMATION AND OUR S UH, SUPPORT STAFF HERE WAS ABLE TO ACQUIRE ALL OF THAT.
AND I BELIEVE EVERY ONE OF YOU HAVE A COPY OF THAT AS WELL.
I'LL ADMIT THAT I HAVE NOT READ EVERY SINGLE PAGE OF IT, BUT, UH, IT'S GOING TO BE A LONG PERIOD AND I'LL BRING NOTES ON, UH, WHAT'S GOING ON.
IS WE RECEIVED? THOSE SOUNDS GOOD JOINT, SUSTAINABILITY AND COMMISSION DID NOT.
THE JSC WAS NOT ABLE TO MEET LAST MONTH.
THEY WERE NOT LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET ONE OF THE LIMITED SPOTS HERE IN THIS BUILDING.
SO WE WERE GOING TO MEET AT AUSTIN ENERGY, BUT IF YOU'RE NOT IN THIS BUILDING, UM, I THINK THE, UH, THE HEAD AND THE PRESIDENT, THE CHAIR AND THE VICE CHAIR HAVE TO BE PRESENT MAYBE HERE TOO ANYWAY, FOR WHATEVER REASON, CABLE WHITE COULDN'T ATTEND IN PERSON.
AND SO WE ENDED UP NOT BEING ABLE TO MEET AND AUSTIN ENERGY.
AND I THINK EVEN GOING FORWARD, THE MEETING SPOT WILL BE AUSTIN ENERGY AND NOT HERE.
SO THEY DON'T ALLOW ANYBODY TO JOIN VIA WEBEX.
IT ALL HAS TO BE IN PERSON IF IT'S NOT IN THIS BUILDING IS MY UNDERSTANDING.
SO WE, WE HOPE WE WILL MEET NEXT MONTH.
UM, AND WE CAN ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT THAT POSSIBLY HASN'T, EXCUSE ME, I'M SORRY.
[00:40:01]
AN, UH, AS AN AGENDA ITEM, ONCE WE GET THROUGH THE BRIEFINGS, I'D VERY MUCH LIKE TO DISCUSS WITH YOU ALL, UM, SCHEDULING FOR NEXT YEAR, BECAUSE AS YOU MAY OR MAY NOT KNOW, COUNCIL WILL BE SELECTING THEIR DATES FOR, UH, 20, 22.AND, UM, THE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS WILL HAVE TO SELECT THE DATES AFTER THEM.
AND, UH, WE CAN TALK ABOUT THAT AFTER ALL THE BRIEFINGS ARE DONE, BUT DIANA, YOU ARE CORRECT IN ALL OF WHAT YOU JUST SAID.
A BICYCLE ADVISORY COMMISSION.
UM, THEY DISCUSSED THE BLANTON MUSEUM REDESIGNED.
THEY'RE GOING TO CREATE A TREE-LIKE STRUCTURES FOR SHADE BETWEEN THE THREE BLANTON STRUCTURES.
THEY'RE LOOKING INTO A BIKE PATH THAT IS SUPPOSED TO GO AROUND, I THINK, AROUND THE MUSEUM GIFT SHOP LIKE AROUND THE BACK.
IT'S GOING TO GO AROUND LIKE DOWN SPEEDWAY AROUND THE PARKING LOT, AND THEN BACK TO MLK, WHICH IS NOT THE PATH THAT ANY BICYCLIST IS EVER GOING TO TAKE.
UM, BLANTON COULD DISCUSS DOING A BIKE PATH THAT GOES AROUND THE OPPOSITE SIDE, LIKE THROUGH THE ALLEYWAY, BUT, UM, THAT HASN'T BEEN CONFIRMED.
UM, LET'S SEE, WHAT ELSE, UH, THEY'RE DISCUSSING THE RED RIVER REALIGNMENT WITH THE SEPARATED BIKE AND PEDESTRIAN PATH THAT IS KIND OF BETWEEN THE LBJ LIBRARY AND THE FOOTBALL STADIUM, UM, UP TO DEAN KEATON.
AND THEY'RE HOPING TO COMPLETE IT DOWN TO MLK IN 2023.
UH, WE HAD THE RED LINE DESIGN INPUT THAT I, WE JUST REDID TODAY AND, UM, ALSO THE CYPRESS INITIAL CREEK PRESENTATION THAT WE HAD LAST MONTH.
SO YOU'RE GETTING A DOUBLE HELPINGS OF EVERYTHING.
UH, PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COUNCIL.
SO PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COUNCIL ALSO GOT THE SAME, UH, CYPRESS SHOAL CREEK PRESENTATION.
UM, THEY ALSO GOT A PRESENTATION FROM ATX WALK, BIKE ROLL.
UM, I WISH I REMEMBERED MORE ON THE SURVEY.
UM, IT WAS, AND ALSO JUST LIKE SOME GENERAL UPDATES AND HAPPY TO SHARE THAT SLIDE DECK.
UM, IT, UM, AND THEN I MISSED THE ONE THEY HAD LAST NIGHT.
UM, SO I DON'T KNOW IF CHRIS, YOU WANT TO PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL COLOR THERE.
THE MOST EXCITING THING IS, UH, THAT WE'VE SELECTED, UM, FIVE NEW FULL MEMBERS AND FIVE NEW ALTERNATE MEMBERS ON, WE HAVE A NEW CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR OF THE PAC, AND I BELIEVE ALL MEMBERS ARE VERY EXCITED TO CONTINUE THE WORK THAT, UH, THE PAC HAS BEEN DOING.
UM, THE FOLLOW-UP WITH THENA, UM, I THINK THAT'S UPDATE, UH, THE BAC WILL HAVE THEIR MEETING, UM, ON OCTOBER 19TH AND THEY WILL ALSO BE HOSTING ELECTIONS.
SO I KNOW THE THERE'LL BE A NEW CHAIR AND VICE-CHAIR SELECTED FOR THAT AS WELL.
AND AGAIN, THEY'RE ALSO, UH, EAGER TO CONTINUE THE WORK THAT DAC HAS DONE AS WELL, SO.
UM, MOBILITY COMMITTEE THAT'S ME.
UH, THERE WAS A LOT OF RECAP THAT WAS SORT OF FISCAL YEAR RECAP ELEMENTS, UH, WAY MORE THAN I CAN REMEMBER IF YOU WERE INTERESTED IN THE KIND OF NITTY-GRITTY DETAILS OF HOW MUCH HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED, WHICH IS ACTUALLY QUITE A LOT.
UM, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO LOOK AT THAT, UM, UM, THOUGH, ANY OFF THE CUFF DETAILS, BUT, UM, THINGS ARE MOVING ALONG.
I MEAN, MY GENERAL IMPRESSION IT WAS THERE, I BELIEVE.
YEAH, IT WAS THAT A LOT HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED IN A WAY THAT I WILL ADMIT FIVE YEARS AGO I WOULD HAVE BEEN SKEPTICAL, HONESTLY.
UM, WE TALKED ABOUT, I GAVE A REPORT ABOUT UTC, UM, UH, REDFERN, I FORGET HIS FIRST NAME PROMISE TO FOLLOW UP ON THE TAXI CAB FRANCHISE AND THE TIRE TAG, UM, RESOLUTIONS, WHICH WE HAD PASSED.
AND, UM, THE DISCUSSION OF
UM, SO NOTHING NEW, EXCITING THERE.
UM, I THINK THAT WAS IT DUE TO MY FORGETTING ANYTHING EXCITING.
AND THEN, UH, COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR THE ATP.
UM, SO, UH, WE MET OUR SEPTEMBER MEETING WAS CANCELED DUE TO A TOMA MEETING POSTING ISSUE.
UM, SO I THINK SOMETHING LIKE THAT, WE WERE, IT WAS GOING TO BE OUR FIRST MEETING IN PERSON, AND THEN WE FORGOT TO PUT THE PHYSICAL LOCATION OR SOME SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES.
SO WE'RE ACTUALLY MEETING ON THURSDAY, SO I'LL HAVE AN UPDATE.
AND I THINK I SAID THE MEETING BEFORE THAT, I THINK I GAVE THAT REPORT LAST TIME.
BUT THE MEETING BEFORE THAT, WE SAW A PRESENTATION ABOUT THE EQUITY TOOL, WHICH IS, UM, THE TOOL TO RESTATE THE TOOL THAT THEY'RE GOING TO USE TO SORT OF EVALUATE HOUSING, AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROPOSALS, OR AT LEAST SOME OF THE
[00:45:01]
AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROPOSALS.THE, THE WORDING OF THE BOND IS PRETTY COMPLICATED, BUT SOME OF THE 40 HOUSING PROPOSALS WILL BE EVALUATED WITH THE EQUITY TOOL, WHICH SORT OF SAYS, HERE'S HOW WE'RE GOING TO LOOK AT HOW WE'RE GOING TO MAKE THE CHOICES, THE DIFFICULT CHOICES WE'RE GOING TO HAVE INTO FUND HOUSING.
AND SO THERE'S A LOT OF VERY VIGOROUS DISCUSSION ABOUT THAT.
IS VIGOROUS CODE FOR FISTFIGHTS IT'S UM, THERE'S SOME, SOME VERY SPIRITED, SO THERE'S SOME, SOME DIFFERENCE OF OPINION.
I THINK IT'S FAIR TO SAY OVER SOME ASPECTS OF THE EQUITY TOOL.
SO, UM, UM, I'LL JUST LEAVE IT THERE AND WE'LL PUT YOU ON THE SPOT.
UM, THAT'S THE END OF THE STAFF BRIEFINGS, UH, ONTO
[4. Future Agenda Items]
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS. SO THERE WAS ONE ITEM THAT GOT CANCELED FOR TODAY, WHICH I THINK WE WOULD PROBABLY APPRECIATE IT THAT WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT, MADE IT ONTO THE LIST.THAT ACTUALLY WAS THE RACIAL EQUITY LINE.
UM, I'M SORRY, RACIAL EQUITY TOOL AND, UM, UH, STAFF DID WANT ME TO BELAY, UH, THERE, UH, REGRETTED, NOT BEING ABLE TO PRESENT THAT TO YOU TODAY.
UM, THEY JUST NEED FROM MY UNDERSTANDING MORE TIME TO WORK ON IT.
SO THEY, UH, AS SOON AS THEY LET ME KNOW THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO PRESENT, UM, I WILL, UH, PUT THAT ON THE AGENDA.
UM, UM, I AM OPTIMISTIC THAT WE CAN HOPEFULLY HAVE IT IN NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER, BUT I WILL AWAIT THEIR WORD ON THAT.
AND WE'LL MOVE FORWARD FROM THERE.
I THINK IF YOU WATCH THE COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMISSION OR COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING, I THINK IT WAS LIKE AUGUST 26TH OR 25TH SOMEWHERE JUST RIGHT AT THE END OF AUGUST.
DID HE REALLY WANT TO LEARN MORE? I THINK THE DISCUSSION THERE WOULD BE PRETTY HELPFUL.
I THINK THERE'S A RECORDING OF THAT YOU COULD WATCH.
SO EXCEPT FOR THAT ONE ITEM, WE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ON THE NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER IN THE MINUTES ON THE LAST PAGE, THERE'S THREE ITEMS THAT WERE LISTED FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING THAT Y'ALL HAD DISCUSSED POSSIBLE FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS. AND ONE OF THEM IS THE ANTI-DISPLACEMENT TOOL.
AND THEN, UH, COMMISSIONER BROOKS, UH, YOU HAD SENT SOME EMAILS THAT SOME THINGS THAT PERHAPS YOU WANTED TO DISCUSS OR THOSE ITEMS YOU STILL THINK ARE WORTH DISCUSSING.
SO WHEN I'M, I'M CERTAINLY LACKING IN INFORMATION ABOUT HOW HIGHWAY PROJECTS ARE PLANNED AND FUNDED IN AUSTIN OR IN THE STATE OF TEXAS OR WHATEVER.
AND I PRESUME THERE IS SOMEBODY IN THE ATD WHO KNOWS EVERY SINGLE FEDERAL REGULATION, EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM, WHICH YOU'RE, YOU'RE, YOU'RE TILTING YOUR HEAD UP.
YOU TELL THEM YOUR HEAD UP AS IF YOU WERE SAYING YES, THAT THERE WAS SOMEBODY THAT WE WE'D PROBABLY TRY TO GET TEXT OUT IN HERE TO, TO PRESENT THAT THAT'S GOING TO BE THE BEST SOURCE.
THEY'RE THE AUTHORITY ON THAT.
AND, UM, BUT WE CAN, WE, WE DEFINITELY HAVE FOLKS WHO CAN SUPPORT THAT.
IS YOUR QUESTION MORE ALONG THE LINES OF HOW DOES AUSTIN MUNICIPALLY DEAL WITH THE STATE AGENCIES AND FEDERAL AGENCIES VERSUS, WELL, OBVIOUSLY THE FOCUS IS GOING TO BE ON AUSTIN, NOT INTERESTED IN HOW THEY DO IT IN HOUSTON, HOW OUR HIGHWAY PROJECTS, I MEAN, ALL OF A SUDDEN TECH STAT SHOWS UP WITH THIS
IT WENT THROUGH A WHOLE BUNCH OF STATE LEGISLATURE, PRESUMABLY THROUGH WHAT POINT AT WHAT POINT, I DON'T KNOW, THE TEXAS TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION THEY'RE APPLYING FOR FEDERAL MONEY TO A PARTICULAR FEDERAL PROGRAM.
IT WOULD BE VERY NICE TO HAVE SOMEBODY SPEND AN HOUR ANYWHERE FROM FIVE MINUTES TO AN HOUR.
I DON'T THINK I HAVE A PLACE AND ANYWHERE FROM FIVE MINUTES ON UP EXPLAINING HOW HIGHWAYS IN THE AUSTIN AREA ARE FUNDED, IF THAT TURNS OUT TO BE A TEXTILE PERSON, THAT'S WHOEVER HAD WHOEVER CAN HELP US UNDERSTAND.
AND SO ANOTHER AGENDA ITEM SORT OF AS A, SORT OF A PROCESS, BECAUSE THERE WERE A LOT OF NEW PEOPLE ON THE BOARD, HOW DO WE DO RECOMMENDATIONS? WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR AMENDING THEM OR ALTERING THEM? CAN YOU JUST CREATE THEM ON THE FLY? LIKE, YOU KNOW, IF YOU'VE BEEN ON HERE FOR A FEW YEARS, YOU SORT OF GLEANED THAT KNOWLEDGE, BUT IF NOT, THEN YOU WOULDN'T KNOW.
SO, AND I KNOW IT'S BEEN SO MANY YEARS SINCE I DID THE CLERK'S TRAINING.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS COVERED IN IT NOWADAYS LAST TIME I DID, IT WAS LIKE SIX YEARS AGO.
I THINK THEY COVER SOME OF THAT CONCEPTUALLY, BUT LIKE THE, THE, THE WHEELS TO THE, OR TO THE ROAD, TO THE TRACK ASPECT OF IT IS NOT AS, UH, RICH MAYBE.
I DON'T KNOW WHO WOULD BE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THAT.
AND MAYBE IT'S THE CITY CLERK OFFICE.
[00:50:01]
IT'S MAYBE IT'S YOU, CHRISTOPHER.I WILL FIND OUT IF IT'S,
UM, I'M CURIOUS ABOUT QUIET ZONES IN DOWNTOWN AUSTIN AND HOW WE GET INFORMATION ON WHERE THEY'RE LOCATED, UM, AND WHO HAVE IT GET IMPLEMENTED? WE DO HAVE STAFF FOR THAT.
THERE WAS SOME RECENT DISCUSSION ON, UH, SOCIAL MEDIA ABOUT POSSIBLE CHANGES TO THE TRANSPORTATION DEMAND MANAGEMENT PROGRAM WITHIN ATD.
AND LIKE, I'M NOT, I'M NOT EVEN SURE WHAT THOSE CHANGES ARE.
I JUST SORT OF PEOPLE ALLUDING TO, OH, A BUNCH HAS CHANGED.
AND YOU KNOW, THIS IS A REALLY KEY COMPONENT OF THE, UH, AUSTIN'S STRATEGIC MOBILITY PLAN.
SO I THINK THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE, IF THAT'S THE CASE, THAT THERE HAS BEEN A BUNCH OF CHANGES TO THAT, THE WAY THAT PROGRAM IS BEING RUN.
I THINK THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL TO THIS BODY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THAT.
JUST MORE GENERALLY WHAT THERE WAS AN ANNUAL, A PERIODIC REVIEW OF THE STRATEGIC MOBILITY PLAN IN APRIL.
DID THIS COMMISSION EVER GET A PRESENTATION ON IT OR I DON'T RECALL AN ASAP BRIEFING OF LATE.
WE MIGHT WELL CONSIDER ASKING FOR A WHILE.
THEY'RE PROBABLY GLAD TO HAVE SOMEBODY TO TALK TO ABOUT, I THINK APRIL WAS BEFORE I WAS HIRED.
UM, I WOULDN'T, I DON'T KNOW, BUT I CAN DEFINITELY, I'LL TAKE A LOOK INTO THAT.
I BELIEVE RIGHT NOW WE IS JUST OUT FOR PUBLIC COMMENT.
UM, SO WE CAN PROVIDE A W I'LL GET WITH CHRIS AND WE CAN DISTRIBUTE THE LINK TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK COMMENTS ON THAT.
YEAH, I THINK WE ALL PROBABLY, I KNOW I DID JUST RECEIVE AN EMAIL WITH LINKS TO THAT AS PART OF THE REGULAR MOBILITY UPDATE, BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE BENEFICIAL TO KNOW WHAT THE HIGH POINTS ARE.
I MEAN, IT'S A VERY DETAILED DOCUMENT.
AND JUST KNOWING THAT THE BIGGEST CHANGES THAT TOOK PLACE MAYBE WOULD BE HITTING THE HIGH POINTS WOULD BE HELPFUL.
THERE'S A PRETTY GOOD LIST TO HERE TO LOOK THROUGH.
UM, WE CAN TRADE EMAILS, UH, IF THINGS ARE POSSIBLE OR NEED TO BE MOVED OR OTHER MONTHS JUST KEEP IT UP.
UM, THERE WAS ONE MORE THING I'D LIKE FOR YOU ALL TO CONSIDER AS A FUTURE AGENDA ITEM.
UM, I MENTIONED IT BEFORE WE WON'T BE ABLE TO VOTE ON IT OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT TODAY, BECAUSE IT'S NOT ON THE AGENDA.
UM, BUT YOU WILL, YOU ALL WILL HAVE TO SELECT YOUR DATES, UM, FOR MEETING, UM, IF NOT IN NOVEMBER, DEFINITELY DECEMBER IN EITHER CASE WILL HAVE TO BE AFTER THE COUNCIL SELECTS THEIR DATES, UM, BECAUSE AFTER THEY SELECT THEIR DATES, THEN THE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS CAN DO SO.
UM, SO I'D LIKE TO BRIEFLY JUST GIVE YOU, UM, UH, I MEAN, THERE, THERE'S A LOT OF OPTIONS IN TERMS OF SELECTING YOUR DATES, BUT TYPICALLY, UM, I BELIEVE THE BOARDS OF COMMISSIONS STAY ON TRACK WITH WHATEVER DAYS THEY'VE HAD IN THE PAST, IN THE PAST.
WE'VE HAD THE SECOND TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH.
AND, UH, AS OF NOW, WE'RE IN THE FIRST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH.
AND, UH, IF POSSIBLE, I'D LIKE FOR YOU ALL TO CONSIDER THE BENEFITS MEETING EVERY FIRST TUESDAY VERSUS EVERY SECOND TUESDAY, UM, I WILL UNASHAMEDLY SAY THAT I THINK IT IS MORE LIKELY FOR US TO MEET IN CITY HALL IF YOU ARE ABLE TO REMAIN, UH, UH, IF YOU'RE ABLE TO MEET THE FIRST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH VERSUS THE SECOND.
BECAUSE AS WE KNOW WITH SCHEDULING THE SECOND TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH HAS ALWAYS BEEN CRAZY AND WE'VE HAD TO MOVE IT BACK AND FORTH.
AND IT'S BEEN A TRIAL, UM, ALSO IN TERMS OF HOLIDAYS ON A LOT OF HOLIDAYS THAT MEET ON THE FIRST WEEK.
SO THAT'S SOMETHING TO ALSO CONSIDER.
UM, BUT I THINK THE BIGGEST THING WOULD BE THAT WE'RE ABLE TO BE IN CITY HALL.
I BELIEVE, I BELIEVE IT'S EASIER FOR EVERYONE TO GET HERE.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW, BUT JUST FOR YOU ALL TO CONSIDER THOSE THINGS, I'M NOT TRYING TO PERSUADE YOU IN ANY WAY AT ALL.
UM, AND PERHAPS WE CAN ADD THAT AS A FUTURE AGENDA ITEM FOR EITHER NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER, DEPENDING ON WHEN COUNCIL SELECTED SELECT THE DATES.
THAT MAKES A LOT OF SENSE TO ME.
I DON'T SEE ANY OBJECTIONS TO SEE A LOT OF SHAKING HEADS.
ANY OTHER DISCUSSION BEFORE WE MOVE TO THE VERY FINAL ITEM? ALL RIGHT.
I THINK WE CAN ADJOURN BY CONSENSUS ANY OBJECTIONS.
