LET'S GO AHEAD AND CONVENE THE MEETING.

THERE IS THE NECESSARY QUORUM OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN CITY COUNCIL, WHICH I THINK IS TWO PEOPLE FOR THIS PURPOSE OF CANVASSING.

AND I'M GOING TO GO AHEAD AND CALL THIS MEETING TO ORDER, AND WE HAVE 50% MORE THAN THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT WE NEED.

IF WE HAVE SEVERAL TIMES THE NUMBER WE NEED.

SO WITH MORE THAN THE NECESSARY QUORUM, I CALL THIS MEETING TO ORDER.

IT IS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH, 2021, 2:00 PM.

WE ARE MEETING VIRTUALLY DUE TO THE ONGOING COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND IS ALLOWED BY THE GOVERNOR'S EMERGENCY DECLARATION AND RELATED SUSPENSION OF CERTAIN OPEN MEETING STATUTES.

THAT'S STILL IN PLACE.

WE'RE FINE.

AND IF NOT, WE'RE FINE.

AS YOU KNOW, UNDER STATE LAW, ONLY TWO COUNCIL MEMBERS ARE NECESSARY FOR A QUORUM TO CANVAS AND ELECTION.

SO WE'RE NOW GOING

[1. Approve a resolution canvassing the results of the November 2, 2021 special municipal elections.]

TO TAKE UP AN ITEM.

NUMBER ONE, TO APPROVE A RESOLUTION, CANVASSING THE RESULTS OF THE NOVEMBER 2ND SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS IN THE NOVEMBER 2ND ELECTION, THE RETURNS OF THE ELECTIONS SHOW 49,644 VOTES FOR AND 106,413 VOTES AGAINST PROPOSITION.

A ALSO ON PROPOSITION B THE VOTE WAS 110,995 VOTES FOR AND 40,481 VOTES AGAINST THAT PROPOSITION B, BEFORE WE TAKE A MOTION, I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYONE HERE REGISTERED TO SPEAK ON THIS ITEM.

A CLERK TELLS ME NO, AND THERE BEING NONE, THEN I WOULD ENTERTAIN A MOTION TO APPROVE THE RESOLUTION CANVASSING AND ACCEPTING THE RETURNS FOR THE NOVEMBER.

SECOND SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS, UH, DECLARING THAT PROPOSITION B IS ADOPTED AND PROPOSITION A IS NOT ADOPTED.

COUNCIL MEMBER POOL MAKES THAT MOTION SECONDED BY COUNCIL MEMBER ELLIS.

UH, IS THERE ANY DISCUSSION ON THE S SAYING NO DISCUSSION? LET'S GO AHEAD AND TAKE A VOTE.

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, PLEASE SAY AYE.

OKAY.

IS THERE ANY NAYS? SO LET THE RECORD REFLECT THAT COUNCIL MEMBERS TOBO ELLA'S POOL AND I VOTED AYE, AND ALSO WE HAVE COUNCIL MEMBER, RENTER, RENTERIA, AND COUNCIL MEMBER ALTAR WITH US ALSO VOTING, UH, I, UM, THE RECORD REFLECT THAT THE VOTE IS, UH, UH, ADOPTED IT PASSES, UH, ON THAT VOTE.
