Approval of the minutes from the Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities April 14, 2023, regular meeting.] THE NEXT ITEM OF THE AGENDA IS APPROVAL OF LAST MONTH'S MEETING. UNDERSTANDABLY. UM, WE DO HAVE AT LEAST ONE COMMISSIONER WHO'S RECUSING THEMSELVES FROM VOTING SINCE THEY ARE NEW. UM, BUT THE MINUTES WERE POSTED, UM, ON THE CITY WEBSITE AS WELL AS YOUR CITY EMAIL EARLIER THIS WEEK. UM, ARE THERE ANY CORRECTIONS? IF NOT, I WILL ACCEPT A MOTION TO APPROVE AND THE MINUTES, AND THEN ASK FOR A SECOND. THIS IS JENNIFER POWELL. I MOVE THAT WE APPROVE THE MINUTES. OKAY. DOES ANYONE SECOND? SECOND. AYE. HAS THE MOVEMENT SECONDED? ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, PLEASE SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE. AYE. AYE. OPPOSED? HEARING NONE, UH, MINUTES HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. ALL RIGHT. IT, [4. Discussion and possible action regarding the progress of the COTA Accessibility Task Force and the coordination with other City of Austin Commissions to take steps for accessibility in event venues. (Oren Rosenthal, Music Commission)] UM, ITEM FOUR, THE AGENDA HAS BEEN REQUESTED TO BE MOVED UP. UM, IT FOR, UM, ONE PERSON WAS TO SPEAK ON THAT TOPIC. UM, AS PART OF THAT PRESENTATION, ARE THERE ANY OBJECTIONS TO BE MOVING ITEM FOUR TO THE NEXT, TO THE FIRST ITEM ON THE AGENDA? NO OBJECTION. NONE. NONE. ALL RIGHT. HEARING NONE, I'D LIKE TO INTRODUCE, UM, OTHAL, UM, I FORGOT YOUR LAST NAME. I DO APOLOGIZE, , BUT WE HAVE SPOKEN OVER THE PHONE A FEW TIMES, SO, UM, I BELIEVE OTHAL AND FORMER COMMISSIONER DIANE'S CURRENT OAL MAY BE SPEAKING ON THIS TOPIC. THE FLOOR IS YOURS. OKAY. AND ALSO, UM, IF YOU COULD SPEAK INTO THE MIC, PLEASE. YES. AND I ALSO HAVE WITH ME, UM, TRAVIS COUNTY VOTER REGISTRAR AND TAX ASSESSOR, BRUCE ELANT. WELCOME. UH, HAS, UH, DIANE BEEN ABLE TO JOIN REMOTELY? NO. OKAY. WELL, THANK, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR MAKING THE, UH, UH, MAKE, MAKING THIS TIME AVAILABLE TO, TO US. OF COURSE. UH, I'M ORRIN ROSENTHAL, MUSIC COMMISSIONER FOR DISTRICT 10, AND I'VE BEEN PARTICIPATING IN A TASK FORCE THAT IS BEING RUN BY THE CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS ON ACCESS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, AND IT'S BEEN A TREMENDOUS TASK FORCE. THE REASON I WANTED TO SPEAK TO THIS COMMITTEE IS BECAUSE WE WOULD LIKE, UH, REPRESENTATION AND PARTNERSHIP WITH THIS GROUP. AND, UH, AND, UH, CHAIR FRANKS, I REALIZE YOU HAVE, YOU HAVE BEEN INVITED TO THIS GROUP, UH, ALTHOUGH I KNOW YOU HAVE MANY RESPONSIBILITIES, , UH, IF, IF YOU WOULD BE A, UH, I, SO THE OUTCOME OF THIS I WOULD LOVE IS IF ONE OF THE MEMBERS OF THIS, UH, COMMITTEE WOULD BE WILLING TO JOIN [00:05:01] ME FROM THE MUSIC COMMISSION AS SERVING ON THIS TASK FORCE. IT'S AN EXTERNAL TASK FORCE, UH, AND THAT'S WHY I'M HERE. BUT, UH, WHY DON'T I TELL YOU A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE TASK FORCE SO YOU'LL KNOW WHAT YOU'RE, WHAT YOU'RE SIGNING UP FOR. IS THAT ALL RIGHT? YEAH, THAT'S FINE. IT, IT IS LABELED UNDER OUR AGENDA AS A, AS AN ACTION ITEM. SO IF WE DO CHOOSE TO VOTE, UH, REPRESENTATIVE TONIGHT, WE CAN DO THAT. GREAT. SO, UM, FIRST OFF, I WANT TO TELL ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF THIS TASK FORCE, AND FOR THAT NO ONE TELLS THE STORY BETTER THAN, UH, , THAN BRUCE. GREAT. GOOD EVENING. IT'S GREAT TO BE BACK WITH Y'ALL. I'M BRUCE ELANT, AND, UM, WHEN WE HAD OUR FIRST TASK FORCE MEETING, I SAID, I GUESS Y'ALL ARE, I, I'M THE REASON Y'ALL ARE ALL HERE. AND SOMEBODY POINTED OUT IT WAS ACTUALLY MY DOG, ASTRO . UM, I WAS TAKING HIM OUT TO GO TO THE RESTROOM AND HE, UM, SAW SQUIRREL AND YANKED ME OFF THE BACK DECK. I FRACTURED MY ANKLE AND WE HAD TICKETS TO THE ROLLING STONES CONCERT. AND, UH, THAT WAS A PRETTY MUCH OF A NIGHTMARE, UH, BEING ON CRUTCHES. IT WAS A VERY DIFFICULT SITUATION FOR, UH, FOR ME AND FOR OTHER PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THAT, THAT WE INTERACTED WITH. AND, UH, I SENT A LETTER TO CODA SAYING, YOU KNOW, THIS IS, YOU KNOW, THIS IS BENEATH Y'ALL. Y'ALL ARE A WORLD CUSS, UM, OUTFIT. AND, UH, Y'ALL SHOULD, UH, PUT TOGETHER A, UH, TASK FORCE, UH, ACCESS TASK FORCE. AND THEY DID THAT. AND, UH, THEY REALLY LEANED INTO IT. THEY OWNED IT. AND, UM, THEY'VE DONE A LOT TO, UM, IMPROVE ACCESS AT COTA. AND, UH, WE REALLY WANT THEM TO BE A, A, UH, BEST PRACTICES FOR VENUES OF THAT TYPE. AND FROM THAT, UM, WORKING WITH THE MUSIC COMMISSION, UH, WE THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A GOOD TIME TO, UM, LOOK AT OTHER, UM, ENTERTAINMENT VENUES IN TRAVIS COUNTY AND SEE HOW THEY'RE DOING AND SEE HOW WE CAN HELP THEM. THANK, THANK YOU. THANK YOU, BRUCE. SO, I'LL TELL YOU A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE TASK FORCE AND ITS MAKEUP. UH, AS BRUCE TELLS THE STORY, HE DID NOT REALIZE THE NEED FOR ACCESS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES UNTIL HE HIMSELF WAS FACED WITH DISABILITY. MM-HMM. . UH, WHAT WHAT IS VERY VALUABLE THAT WE HAVE ON THIS GROUP, AND WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE EVEN STRENGTHENED, IS PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES SERVING ON THIS TASK FORCE. THE CURRENT TASK FORCE CONSISTS OF, IN ADDITION TO, UM, UH, UH, UH, TRAVIS COUNTY TAX ASSESSOR AND REGISTRAR ELANT, AND, UH, MYSELF IS DENNIS BOLE, THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE COALITION OF TEXANS WITH DISABILITIES. WE ALSO HAVE CHASE BEARDON, WHO IS THE DEPUTY EXEC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AND BRYSON SMITH, WHO I BELIEVE IS JUST A MEMBER OF THE, OF THE, OF THE COALITION. UM, WE HAVE NORMAN, UH, KAKI, KIKI. KIKI, UH, HE IS THE PROGRAM SPECIALIST OF THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING AND REGISTRATION. UH, RON LUCY REPRESENTING THE STATE OF TEXAS IN THE PERSON OF THE, UH, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE TEXAS GOVERNOR'S COMMITTEE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. JONATHAN, UH, UH, CHAIRMAN FRANKS, YOU, YOURSELF, WERE, UH, ON, ON THE COMMISSION, UH, ON, ON THIS TASK FORCE. UM, WILLIAM MANO THE, UH, CORPORATE SPECIAL EVENTS PROGRAM MANAGER FOR THE CITY, SARAH MILLS OF TREATY OAK STRATEGIES, WAYNE YANG OF THE TEXAS LEGAL SERVICES CENTER, AND ABOUT 15 PEOPLE FROM THE CIR OF THE AMERICAS AS AN EVIDENCE OF THEIR COMMITMENT TO IMPROVING ACCESS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. EVERYBODY SHOWS UP TO THESE MEETINGS, INCLUDING FACILITIES, SAFETY AND SECURITY, MARKETING, TICKETING, TRANSPORTATION, PARKING, MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT, AND GUEST SERVICES. AT THE LAST MEETING WE DISCUSSED, UH, WELL, THEY, THEY WERE QUITE HAPPY TO PRESENT MANY SIGNIFICANT CHANGES THEY HAD MADE TO PROMOTE ACCESS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. THESE INCLUDE, UH, THEIR WEBSITE, WHICH THEY HAVE REBUILT FROM SCRATCH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH USER WAY, UH, TICKETING. THEY HAVE PARTNERED WITH TICKETMASTER TO ACCOMMODATE A FLEXIBLE NUMBER OF ADA GUESTS, UH, PARKING. THEY HAVE, UM, ACTUALLY, I, I HAD A CHANCE TO CHECK OUT A LOT OF THEIR, THEIR PARKING FACILITIES MYSELF WHEN I WENT TO, UM, A RECENT ZIZI TOP CONCERT. UM, THEY HAVE, UH, THEY HAVE HANDICAPPED, UH, UH, THEY, THEY HAVE, UH, SPECIAL ADA DESIGNATED SPOTS IN THE LOTS AND GREAT SH GREAT SHUTTLE SERVICE. UH, THEY HAVE QUADRUPLED THEIR ADA OFFSITE TRANSPORT FOR PEOPLE ATTENDING THE [00:10:01] RACES. THEY HAVE A DEDICATED TEAM MEMBER FOR ALL ADA EMAIL AND REQUESTS. THEY'RE GETTING UP TO 40 INQUIRIES A DAY FOR THE RECENT RACE SEASON. BUT JUST HAVING ONE DEDICATED PERSON WHO KNOWS THE, UM, WHO, WHO KNOWS WHAT ACCOMMODATIONS CAN BE MADE AND WHAT'S AVAILABLE MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE. UM, THEY REDESIGNED THEIR, UM, THEIR ADA SECTIONS AT THE CONCERTS. MM-HMM. , THEY ARE HAVING A SENSORY ROOM. THEY'RE GONNA BE PARTNERING WITH SETON HEALTH. UM, AND, UH, ALSO, UH, THEY'RE PLANNING ON PUTTING IN ADULT CHANGING TABLES. SO THEY ARE REALLY COMMITTED. UH, ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO ADD, BRUCE? NO, WE'RE, WE'RE REALLY PROUD OF, OF THE, UH, THE WORK THAT WE'VE DONE TOGETHER AND REALLY GRATEFUL FOR CODA'S, UM, WILLINGNESS TO SIT DOWN WITH US. UH, WHEN WE HAD OUR FINAL MEETING, UM, BOBBY EPSTEIN WAS ACTUALLY THERE, AND, UH, HE CAME OVER AND POINTED AT ME AND HE SAID, I REALLY HATED YOUR LETTER. UM, BUT WE REALIZED THAT WE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THIS AND WE NEEDED TO, TO LEAN INTO IT AND UNDERSTAND IT AND ACT ON IT. AND, AND WE'RE REALLY GRATEFUL THAT THEY'VE BEEN WILLING TO DO THAT. SO THAT'S WHERE WE ARE NOW. MM-HMM. , WHAT I'D LIKE TO DISCUSS BEFORE THIS COMMITTEE IS WHERE WE CAN GO WITH THIS. UH, CODA IS A WORLD-CLASS FACILITY. THE US GRAND PRIX IS RUN THERE. THEY HAVE A WHOLE SERIES OF CONCERTS AT THEIR GRAM, ROMANIA, UH, AMPHITHEATER, WHICH THAT GETS MY INTEREST, UH, ON THE MUSIC COMMISSION. AND WE THINK A GREAT NEXT STEP FOR THE CITY OF AUSTIN AND TRAVIS COUNTY AND THE STATE OF TEXAS WOULD BE TO BRING IN OTHER VENUES TO THIS SAME FORMAT. IT COULD BE IN THE EXACT SAME TASK FORCE, UH, OR IT COULD BE SEPARATE TASK FORCES MODELED ON THIS, THAT THAT CAN ALL BE WORKED OUT. BUT WE WOULD LIKE TO MAKE EVERYONE AWARE TO RAISE THIS AWARENESS THAT AUSTIN IS A WORLD-CLASS DESTINATION FOR EVERYBODY. AND MY BIG ASK IS IF SOMEONE ON THIS COMMITTEE WOULD BE WILLING TO PARTNER WITH ME ON THE MUSIC COMMISSION REPRESENTING THE CITY OF AUSTIN, WE CAN THEN STRATEGIZE, UH, WITH, UH, WITH OTHER PEOPLE, INCLUDING EVERYONE WHO I, WHO I LISTED BEFORE TO BRING IN OTHER WORLD CLASS VENUES. AND THAT'S OUR ASK. OKAY. THANK YOU SO MUCH. UH, THREE THINGS BEFORE I OPEN THE FLOOR TO THE REST OF THE COMMISSION. UM, ONE, YOU DID MENTION THAT I WAS ON THE TASK FORCE. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY COMMUNIQUE IN THAT FOR QUITE A WHILE, SO MAYBE THAT'S PROBABLY WHY THERE WAS A DROP OFF . UM, TWO DISABILITY RIGHTS. SPEAKING OF OTHER VENUES, DISABILITY RIGHTS, TEXAS AND COALITION OF TEXAN DISABILITIES HAS BEEN CIRCULATING THE SURVEY, UH, REGARDING, UH, THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE MOODY CENTER. AND THEY ARE ASKING ABOUT ACCESSIBILITY, UH, PEOPLE'S GENERAL, OVERALL, UM, HOW ACCESSIBLE THE VENUE HAS BEEN. UM, AND THREE, YOU DID MENTION OFFSITE, UM, I GUESS YOU WOULD SAY TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO LIKE, UH, THE GERMANIA AMPHITHEATER. UM, I WOULD PERSONALLY LOVE TO GET METRO ACCESS TO THE TABLE BECAUSE THEY, AS A METRO ACCESS WRITER MYSELF, THEY DO NOT HAVE A WAY TO GET THERE. I, THIS EX, I HAD TO AT THE, MY WIFE AND I LOVED TO FREQUENT CONCERTS DOWN IN THAT AREA. AND WE HAVE TO SPEND NEARLY 50, $60 JUST TO TAKE RIDE SHARE DOWN THERE. AND, UM, THERE'S NOT A LOT OF, UM, AVAILABLE RESEARCH OF OTHER, UH, TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS TO GET DOWN THERE THAT ARE MAYBE MORE COST EFFECTIVE. UM, SO COULD YOU SPEAK A LITTLE BIT MORE ON WHAT YOU DID MENTION ABOUT OFFSITE TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS? UH, WELL, I'LL TELL YOU WHAT I HEARD AT THE LAST MEETING WE HAD, WHICH IS FEBRUARY. SO IF YOU HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM SINCE FEBRUARY, THAT WOULD BE, THAT WOULD BE WHY THEY HAVEN'T HAD ANY, UH, ANY MEETINGS SINCE THEN. MM-HMM. , UM, THEIR, THEIR RACES ARE WHEN OCTOBER, IS THAT WHEN THEY'RE YES, THAT'S, THEY'RE, THEY GEAR UP FOR THAT. THAT'S THEIR BIGGEST EVENT. ALTHOUGH THEY, THEY'VE GOT A LOT OF BIG PLANS. SO WHAT THEY SAID IS THEY HAD QUADRUPLED ADA OFFSITE TRANSPORT, AND I BELIEVE THERE, THERE WERE CERTAIN SPOTS, UH, ACCESSIBLE, WELL ACCESSIBLE BY, UM, [00:15:01] BY METRO ACCESS FROM WHICH THEY WERE SENDING, UH, I BELIEVE BUSES ADA, UH, A ADA COMPLIANT BUSES OR VANS TO THE RACES. NOW, FRANKLY SPEAKING, GETTING AROUND THOSE RACES IS A HUGE LOGISTICAL CHALLENGE, AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THEY STILL COULD DO MORE, BUT THEY JUST, THEY SAID THEY HAD QUADRUPLED THE NUMBER OF THOSE, UH, OF THOSE BUSES. I CAN'T SPEAK TO WHAT, UH, SUPPORT THEY PROVIDE TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHO TAKE THOSE BUSES. MM-HMM. , THAT WOULD BE A GREAT TOPIC TO BRING UP IN THIS TASK FORCE. SO WAS THAT REGARDING ONLY THE RACETRACK OR THE AMPHITHEATER AS WELL? BECAUSE THAT, THAT WAS MY QUESTION WAS REGARDING THE AMPHITHEATER SPECIFICALLY, BUT IT'S GOOD TO KNOW ABOUT THE, THE OPTIONS FOR, UM, CODA ONLY, ONLY THE RACES, ONLY THE CODA RACES IS WHAT THEY HAD THIS FOR. UH, I LOVE THE IDEA OF HAVING CAP METRO GO OUT TO, UH, GO, GO OUT TO DAKOTA. IT'S FAR, YEAH. , BUT IT'S, UNFORTUNATELY IT'S NOT ALWAYS UP TO CAPITAL METRO. IT'S UP TO THE VOTERS OF THE AREA. UM, I WILL NOW OPEN UP THE FLOOR TO ANY OTHER COMMISSIONER WHO HAS ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS. I HAVE A QUESTION. UH, STATE YOUR NAME AND YES. YEAH. COMMISSIONER PIZZA. GO FOR IT. YOU, YOU SAID THAT THEY MADE IMPROVEMENTS FROM YOUR INITIAL MEETING. IS THERE A LIST OR SOME KIND OF TRACKING SYSTEM OF WHAT THEY ACTUALLY IMPLEMENTED? I KNOW YOU SAID THEY COULD QUADRUPLED THEIR, UH, DISABILITY PARKING, BUT HAS ANYBODY KEPT TRACK OF THIS IS WHAT IT WAS BEFORE THESE WERE THE IMPROVEMENTS WE MADE? BECAUSE WHEN YOU TAKE THIS TO OTHER VENUES, WE NEED TO ESTABLISH WHAT BEST PRACTICES ARE AND WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. UH, UH, E EXCELLENT POINT. I'M JUST, I, I'M JUST RECAPPING WHAT THEY SELF-REPORTED AT THIS MEETING. NOW I, I TRUST THEM. UH, I REALLY DO TRUST THEM BECAUSE THEY HAVE SHOWN SUCH COMMITMENT. I WAS IMPRESSED THAT, UH, BOBBY EPSTEIN, THE CHAIR ACTUALLY CAME TO, CAME TO THIS MEETING BECAUSE, UH, BECAUSE HE SPECIFICALLY SA STATED THIS WAS SO IMPORTANT TO HIM. SO I TRUST THAT THEY HAVE DONE WHAT THEY SAID THEY'VE DONE. THIS IS JUST FROM MY NOTES. I CAN ASK FOR A FULL REPORT AND, UH, AND WE CAN SHARE THAT INFORMATION, UH, WITH, UH, BOTH THIS COMMITTEE AS WELL AS THE MUSIC COMMISSION. AND I, I LIKE THAT STRATEGY OF GETTING BEST PRACTICES DOWN AND, YOU KNOW, PUTTING SOME PEER PRESSURE, UH, SOME POSITIVE PEER PRESSURE. MM-HMM. ON ALL THE VENUES TO UP THEIR GAME HERE IN AUSTIN. THERE, THERE ARE A COUPLE OF PEOPLE ON THE, UM, ON OUR TASK FORCE THAT ARE RACE, RACE ENTHUSIASTS AND THEY WILL BE OUT THERE REGULARLY AND REPORTING BACK. BUT I BET CODA WOULD BE HAPPY TO GIVE A, UH, AN UPDATE, UM, AFTER THE RACE SEASON ABOUT HOW MANY PEOPLE THEY WERE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE IN THE DIFFERENT WAYS. YEAH, IF YOU COULD COME BACK, UH, REPORT BACK TO THE COMMISSION THEN, AND ALSO I WOULD BE MORE, MORE THAN INTERESTED TO HELP OUT WITH THIS PROCESS IF THAT'S SOMETHING WE CHOOSE TO MOVE FORWARD WITH AS WELL. YEAH. UM, AFTER READING THE LANGUAGE OF THE AGENDA, WE WOULD HAVE TO, I BELIEVE, PUT THAT AS AN AGENDA TO ITEM TO APPROVE A MEMBER TO SERVE ON THIS TASK FORCE. BUT THAT'S SOMETHING WE COULD PUT AS, UH, A FUTURE AGENDA ITEM AND THEN, UM, PROCEED FORWARD FROM THERE. IF COMMISSIONER SALOR SOMETHING YOU WANT TO DO, WE COULD CIRCLE BACK TO THAT DURING FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS AS SOMETHING WE PUT ON TO NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA. UM, I JUST HAD, WE HAVE TO DO IT BY, UM, IT HAS TO, WE HAVE TO HAVE CERTAIN LANGUAGE AMONGST OUR AGENDA TO APPROVE SOMEONE AS A, LIKE A LIAISON. BUT IF YOU ARE WILLING TO DO THAT, WE CAN PUT THAT UNDER FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ALSO. OR, UM, IS THERE A WAY FROM THE INFORMATION YOU HAVE GATHERED, YOU COULD SEND TO OUR LIAISON AND THAT INFORMATION CAN BE CIRCULATED AMONGST RECOGNITION SO THAT EVERYONE ON OUR COMMISSION HAS A CHANCE TO LOOK OVER IT AND CUZ WE MAY HAVE MORE THAN ONE PERSON WHO WANTS TO SERVE ON THE COMMISSION. AND SO WE WANNA GIVE EVERYONE A FAIR CHANCE TO LOOK OVER THAT INFORMATION. YES. WHAT I WILL ASK, I WILL ASK BAILEY HANSEN, WHO IS THE, UM, I THINK SHE'S, I THINK SHE'S IN CHARGE OF PUBLICITY. MM-HMM. FOR, UH, CODA. I WILL ASK HER TO GATHER ALL OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT I JUST LISTED. IT WAS, THERE WAS A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION THAT THAT HAD IT ALL. IT WAS JUST, I WAS JUST TAKEN, I'M SURE THEY CAN PROVIDE THAT. YEAH. THEY, THEY WOULD BE HAPPY TO PROVIDE THAT, WHICH I WILL THEN, UH, SHARE WITH, UH, UH, JACQUELINE MM-HMM. , UH, [00:20:01] WHAT, AS SOON AS I GET IT, WHICH CAN THEN BE DISTRIBUTED TO THIS, UH, UH, COMMITTEE MM-HMM. . AND THEN BY ALL MEANS, PLEASE PUT US ON THE AGENDA FOR, UH, NEXT MONTH, UH, SO WE CAN, UH, PRESENT THOSE THINGS AND HOPEFULLY HAVE, UH, HAVE THE APPOINTMENT OF ONE OR MORE MEMBERS TO HELP COORDINATE. OKAY. UH, KEEP THE FLOOR OPEN. WE DO HAVE A LITTLE MORE TIME IF ANY OTHER COMMISSIONER HAS A QUESTION AND A COMMENT. UM, YES. I JUST HAVE A QUESTION. SORRY, WHO IS SPEAKING? UM, THIS IS ELIZABETH MEYER. HEY, WELCOME. HI. SORRY I DIDN'T MAKE IT DOWNTOWN. NO WORRIES. LET THE, UH, LET THE MINUTES REFLECT THAT LIZ, UH, VICE CHAIR ELIZABETH MYER IS PRESENT AND GO FOR IT. UM, SO I JUST HAD A QUESTION. I, FIRST OF ALL, I WANNA SAY THAT I APPRECIATE ALL THE THINGS THAT YOU HAVE DONE AND I REALLY LOVE THE IDEA OF HAVING ONE, UM, ADA POINT PERSON AND AS WELL AS THE, UM, THE ADULT CHANGING FACILITIES. I LOVE THAT. BUT MY QUESTION IS, HOW ARE YOU LETTING THE POP GENERAL POPULATION KNOW THAT THESE ACCOMMODATIONS ARE AVAILABLE OR LIKE WHO THAT ADA PERSON IS TO CONTACT? THEY PARTNERED WITH TICKETMASTER AND THEY, UH, I DON'T KNOW THE DETAILS OF THE ARRANGEMENT AND MIND YOU, I DON'T REPRESENT CODA. I'M JUST MM-HMM. SHARING WHAT I HEARD FROM THEM. BUT THEY PARTNERED WITH TICKETMASTER AND OFFERED SPECIFIC ADA COMPLIANT TICKETS AND THERE WAS SPECIAL COMMUNICATION PROBABLY THROUGH EMAIL I WOULD EXPECT, OR, OR TEXT OR HOWEVER, UH, HOWEVER THE TICKETMASTER INTERFACE WAS DESIGNED. SO THEY DID COMMUNICATE THAT. THEY ALSO MENTIONED THERE WAS A WHOLE LOT OF SITUATIONS OF PEOPLE WHO ACCIDENTALLY BOUGHT ADA TICKETS AND THEY NEEDED TO EX EXCHANGE, UH, EXCHANGE ALL OF THAT. UM, THEY, UM, THEY, I KNOW THEY HAVE REDESIGNED THEIR, THEIR WEBSITE, SO I ASSUME THERE SHOULD BE A VERY HEALTHY ADA SECTION ON THERE. AND IMPORTANTLY IT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN ALL WITH ALL WEB ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES. THEY ARE VERY COMMITTED TO THAT. THEY, THEY SAID THEY REDESIGNED THEIR WEBSITE FROM THE GROUND UP. THAT'S WONDERFUL. YEAH, IT IS. CUZ I, I HAD A LITTLE TROUBLE, UH, LAST YEAR WITH ACCESSIBILITY, UH, WITH, UH, SCREEN READING TECHNOLOGY, BUT THAT IS GREAT TO HEAR THAT THEY'VE BEEN WORKING ON ACCESSIBILITY. I APPRECIATE THAT. THANK YOU SO MUCH. MM-HMM. , I'LL LEAVE TIME FOR ONE MORE QUESTION OR COMMENT. I, I, I DO HAVE A COMMENT OR, OR A QUESTION. UM, NOW ARE THEY ONLY WORKING FOR, UM, FOR THE RACES OR ARE THEY WORKING FOR ALL OF THE, THE EVENTS THAT THEY HAVE? I KNOW THAT, UM, I, I PROMINENTLY, UM, HELP OUT WITH KIDS, KIDS WITH DISABILITIES AND I KNOW LIKE PEPPERMINT PATTY PARKWAY WOULD BE, I I WENT THROUGH THAT. THERE'S A WHOLE LOT OF WORK THAT WOULD NEED TO BE DONE THERE IN MY OPINION. UM, DO YOU KNOW HOW THEY'RE, HOW THEY'RE GOING ABOUT OTHER OF, OF THE, THE VENUES AND THINGS THAT THEY'RE DOING? OR IS IT JUST SPECIFICALLY WHAT THEY'RE INCREASING FOR THE RACES? WELL, I, THEY ARE PAYING VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE MUSIC EVENTS AT GERMANIA AMPHITHEATER. MM-HMM. , THEY DID NOT MENTION, UH, THE PEPPERMINT PATTY AND I KNOW THEY'VE GOT GO-KARTING AND, UH, I, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THEY, THEY'VE GOT BIG PLANS. THEY'RE PLANNING ON BUILDING A WHOLE AMUSEMENT PARK OUT THERE. AND THEY WERE, UM, AND UH, RON LUCY WAS REFERRING THEM TO, UM, WONDERLAND. IT'S A, IT'S A BOY'S NAME. WONDERLAND, MORGAN MORGAN'S WONDERLAND WONDERLAND. MM-HMM. . HE WAS, YEAH. SO HE WAS, HE WAS MAKING THE CONNECTIONS TO HELP THEM COORDINATE WITH MORGAN'S MORGAN'S WONDERLAND. UH, THAT'S WHY IT'S A WONDERFUL THING. WE'VE GOT THE STATE AND THE, UH, AND THE COUNTY AND THE CITY ALTOGETHER. HE WAS ALSO RECOMMENDING THAT, UM, BECAUSE OF THE CHALLENGES OF GETTING ACROSS SUCH STEEP, STEEP TERRAIN, HE WAS, UH, CONNECTING THEM WITH TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE MM-HMM. , UH, BECAUSE THEY'RE, UH, THEY HAVE A LOT OF EXPERTISE IN MAKING, UH, MAKING, UH, WILDER OR BIGGER TERRAIN ACCESSIBLE. SO, [00:25:01] UH, I I DIDN'T HEAR THE PEPPERMINT PATTY MENTIONED. DID, DID YOU BRUCE? NOT SPECI, NOT SPECIFICALLY, BUT THEY'VE MADE IT CLEAR THAT THEY WANT ALL THEIR, ALL THEIR PLATFORMS TO BE, UM, ACCESSIBLE AND UH, YOU KNOW, ANYTIME ANYBODY HAS A, UH, CONCERN OR A AN OBSERVATION, UH, THEY CAN UM, FORWARD IT THROUGH OUR TASK FORCE OR DIRECTLY TO KODA AND WE FOUND THEM TO BE, UH, VERY RESPONSIVE. GREAT. ANOTHER VENUE, UM, THAT IT HAS LACK OF LIMITATION TO, IN REGARDS TO TRANSPORTATION, I WOULD SAY, I'M NOT SURE THE EXACT NAME OF THE CENTER NOW, WHETHER IT'S THE CEDAR PARK CENTER, HGB CENTER, WHATEVER VENUE NAME IT IS IN CEDAR PARK IS NOT ACCESSIBLE TO METRO ACCESS EITHER. AND THERE'S A LOT OF, UM, EVENTS, MUSIC EVENTS, STUFF LIKE THAT IS HELD THERE. AND THAT GIVES PEOPLE DISABILITIES WHO UTILIZE METRO ACCESS ANOTHER LIMITATION IN ORDER TO TRAVEL THERE AS WELL. CUZ THERE'S ONLY CERTAIN POCKETS OF CEDAR PARK THAT METRO WILL COVER, WHICH IS BASICALLY LAKELINE MALL AND A FEW OTHER AREAS. SO, CHAIR, CHAIR, IF WE MAY, GO AHEAD MM-HMM. , IS IT POSSIBLE IF WE CAN SET UP A WORK GROUP OR JUST A GROUP TO DISCUSS THESE THINGS TO DO LIKE, UH, NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND ALL THAT? CAUSE I KNOW WE'RE SPEAKING ON CODA MM-HMM. , BUT THIS IS A GOOD, UH, LOCKING POINT TO JUMP OFF ON AND SEE WHAT THAT LOOKS LIKE ON THE SURROUNDING VENUES OF NOT ONLY IN AUSTIN, BUT THE AUSTIN AREA AND WHO WE WOULD NEED TO TALK TO TO KIND OF GET THAT BALL ROLLING. WE CAN, WE'LL HAVE TO VOTE ON THAT ON A FUTURE AGENDA ITEM TO SET UP WHO'S GONNA BE ON IT, MAKE SURE WE'RE NOT GOING OVER, UM, THE RULES, LIMITATIONS OF A WORK GROUP. BUT THAT'S SOMETHING WE CAN DO ON OUR NEXT AGENDA IN JUNE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO, UM, ONCE WE GET TO FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS, WE COULD ASK TO PUT THAT, TO BE PUT ON THE NEXT AGENDA. OKAY. THANKS SO MUCH. YOU'RE VERY WELCOME. ALL RIGHT. WE'RE ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD ON TIME. UM, SO IF THERE'S ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS, THIS IS JENNIFER POWELL. I JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PRESENTATION. YES, THANK Y'ALL SO MUCH. AND, UM, WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING MORE OF THE INFORMATION AND, UM, LOOK MORE FORWARD, UH, WORK COLLABORATING WITH Y'ALL. I THINK WE HAVE A, A GOOD AMOUNT OF MEMBERS ON OUR COMMISSION WHO ARE DEFINITELY INTERESTED IN THIS, SO DEFINITELY, UM, LOOK FORWARD TO CONTINUED PARTICIPATION AND COLLABORATION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. GREAT. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. THANK YOU. YOU'RE VERY WELCOME. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. MM-HMM. . OKAY. SO NEXT ITEM IS [3. Discussion and possible action on appointing an alternative representative to the Joint Inclusion Committee (JIC).] REGARDING, UM, HANG ON ONE SECOND. APPOINTING AN ALTERNATIVE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE JOINT INCLUSION COMMITTEE. UM, JEREMY COULD NOT MAKE IT TONIGHT AND SO, UM, I BELIEVE JACQUELINE REACHED OUT TO YOU, COMMISSIONER POWELL TO SPEAK ON THAT. JUST KIND OF AN UPDATE OF WHAT THE JOINT INCLUSION COMMITTEE IS DOING. AND THEN IF, UM, WE CHOOSE, SOMEONE WANTS TO CERT, UM, VOTE AND SERVE AS AN ALTERNATE JUST IN CASE. UM, SO WE DO HAVE NEW MEMBERS IF YOU WANT TO JUST KIND OF EXPLAIN WHAT THEY DO, WHAT THEY'VE BEEN WORKING ON, AND THEN WE CAN PROCEED FROM THERE. I DON'T HAVE ANY SPECIFIC UPDATES. OUR LAST MEETING, UM, WAS ABOUT SPECIFICALLY PROJECT CONNECT AND I THINK WE JUST WENT OVER, UH, OVER THE DEADLINE FOR A SURVEY. BUT THERE IS MORE TO DO AT PROJECT CONNECT SLASH GET INVOLVED. THERE'S ALWAYS MORE TO DO AND, UM, I DO THINK THAT SOMEBODY FROM OUR COMMITTEE KIND OF NEEDS TO HAVE A FOCUS ON WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH PROJECT CONNECT. SO FAR WE DON'T REALLY HAVE A LE LIAISON WITH THEM OR, UM, EVEN AS FAR AS I KNOW, EVEN A CONTACT PERSON THAT I'VE BEEN MADE AWARE OF, UM, IT WOULD BE COMMISSIONER BROADWATER, BUT, UM, WE'RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HER, UM, ELIGIBILITY TO STAY ON THIS COMMISSION. RIGHT. AND SO I THOUGHT COMMISSIONER BROADWATER WAS WHO WAS GONNA BE THE ALTERNATE, UH, MEMBER FOR J I C AND I UNDERSTAND THAT SHE'S NOT, UM, SHE'S, IS SHE TERMED OUT OR IT LOOKS AS IF SHE IS, WE'RE TRYING TO REACH OUT TO HER CUZ SHE DOES HAVE ELIGIBILITY TO SERVE ANOTHER FOUR YEAR TERM. AND SO WE'RE TRYING TO GET IN CONTACT WITH HER TO FIGURE THAT ALL OUT. I SPOKE WITH JA JACQUELINE, [00:30:01] IF YOU WANNA SPEAK, IF YOU'RE STILL ON THE CALL, IF YOU WANNA SPEAK MORE ON THAT. I KNOW SHE HAS A LOT GOING ON WITH HER MOTHER AND HER FAMILY RIGHT NOW, SO, UM, I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE HER STILL AS THE ALTERNATE AND THAT I'D LOVE TO HAVE HER STILL ON. UM, THE, JUST THE, UH, JOINT INCLUSION COMMITTEE. IT'S A FUND COMMITTEE COMPRISED OF A LOT OF OTHER CITY COMMITTEES. IF ANYBODY ELSE IS INTERESTED, IF, UH, CATHERINE BROADWATER IS NOT ELIGIBLE. I DID SPEAK WITH, UM, BROADWATER AND SHE DID NOT REAPPLY FOR TO BE ON THE COMMITTEE. I DON'T THINK THAT SHE REALIZED THAT THE TERM WAS COMING UP, ENDING SO QUICKLY, BUT, UM, SHE IS NO LONGER ON THE COMMISSION. HER HOLDOVER PERIOD ENDED AT THE END OF APRIL. OKAY. SO THEN WE WOULD NEED ANOTHER, AN ALTERNATE. UM, DOES ANYONE FROM WHAT COMMISSIONER POWELL HAS SAID, HAVE ANY INTEREST IN SERVING AS AN ALTERNATE? UM, ONE THING YOU COULD ALSO SAY, COMMISSIONER POWELL IS WHEN Y'ALL MEET, UM, WHAT, YOU KNOW, WHAT TIME OF THE MONTH AND EVERYTHING LIKE THAT. WE MEET, WE MEET THE THIRD, UM, WE MEET THE THIRD WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH USUALLY. AND IT'S, I BELIEVE AT THREE O'CLOCK, OH, QUOTE ME IT'S THREE OR THREE 30. UM, SAME AS THIS. IT'S AN HOUR AND A HALF LONG, BUT IT'S MADE UP OF, UH, A BUNCH OF CRUCIAL COMMISSIONS LIKE OURS, COMMISSION ON AGING, THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMISSION, THE ASIAN COMMISSION, THE HISPANIC LATINO COMMISSION. SO A A LOT OF, UH, PEOPLE COME TO THE TABLE AND, UH, THEY MAKE A LOT OF, UH, IMPORTANT DECISIONS IN, IN THAT IT'S A LITTLE BIT FASTER PACED THAN THIS COMMISSION. UM, BUT IT'S, UH, IT'S FUN AND IF YOU WERE AN ALTERNATE, YOU WOULDN'T NEED TO BE AT EVERY MEETING. YOU OF COURSE WOULD BE WELCOME AT EVERY MEETING. MM-HMM. MM-HMM. , UM, THAT YOU WOULD JUST NEED TO ESPECIALLY BE THERE IF I COULDN'T. AND I'M USUALLY ALWAYS HERE. SPEAKING OF ALWAYS HERE, I DID WANT TO TELL EVERYBODY THAT I HAVE MY DAUGHTER PLACE CLARINET AND SHE'S HAVING A BAND CONCERT TONIGHT, AND I DO NEED TO LEAVE A LITTLE BIT EARLY AT SIX 30 IF POSSIBLE. UM, WE'LL JUST HAVE, UM, MAKE SURE WE DON'T LOSE QUORUM. YES. IT IS VIRTUAL. MM-HMM. YOU CAN VIRTUAL. YES, YOU CAN ATTEND, YOU CAN ATTEND VIRTUAL. YEAH, I'D BE HAPPY TO DO THAT IF NO ONE, IF IF NO ONE ELSE WAS INTERESTED. FANTASTIC. WELL, I'D LIKE TO NOMINATE YOU ELIZABETH MEYER TO BE OUR ALTERNATE FOR THE, UH, JOINT INCLUSION COMMITTEE. OKAY. SO THERE HAS BEEN A NOMINATION. SO IS THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS BEFORE WE MOVE ON TO THE VOTING PROCESS? UH, YOU NEED A SECOND? YES, WE WILL NEED A SECOND. I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THERE'S, UH, THERE'S ANY MORE QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FROM TO COMMISSIONER POWELL BEFORE WE MOVE ON TO THAT PROCESS. UM, THAT'S PRETTY MUCH IT. YOU'LL ENJOY IT, ELIZABETH. ALL RIGHT. ELIZABETH MEYER HAS BEEN NOMINATED. IS THERE A SECOND? I'LL GO AHEAD AND SECOND. UH, PLEASE TELL US THAT. OKAY. THANK YOU. ALL RIGHT. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR FOR VOTING, UM, E COMMISSIONER MEYER AS ALTERNATE TO THE WHAT WE SOMETIMES CALL THE J JOINT INCLUSION COMMITTEE. UM, ALL THOSE IN FAVOR PLEASE SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE. AYE. AYE. OPPOSED? THANK YOU COMMISSIONER MEYER FOR YOUR WILLINGNESS TO SERVE. WE APPRECIATE IT. AND, UM, ONE THING WE'RE GONNA BE WORKING ON, COMMISSIONER POWELL AND, UM, COMMISS, UH, VICE CHAIR MEYER, IS WE ARE GONNA, UM, IN THE FUTURE WORK ON, UM, QUARTERLY, MAYBE QUARTERLY, MAYBE BIMONTHLY REPORTS IF THERE'S SOMETHING TO REPORT ON, JUST HAVE THAT ON THE AGENDA AS A TOPIC EVERY MONTH, UNDERSTANDABLY, THERE MAY NOT BE SOMETHING TO SPEAK ABOUT, BUT WE'RE GONNA HAVE THAT ON THE AGENDA EVERY MONTH OR BASICALLY EVERY MONTH, EVERY OTHER MONTH, JUST AS A THAT'S SOUNDS GREAT. STANDING TOPIC AND WE NEED TO, THAT SOUNDS GREAT. WE ALSO NEED TO BE, YOU KNOW, WE NEED TO PUT MORE THINGS INTO THE OTHER WAY AROUND MM-HMM. , WE NEED TO MAKE MORE REPORTS TO THEM AS WELL, OF COURSE. AND USE OUR INFLUENCE THERE. SO TOTALLY AGREE. THANK YOU. MM-HMM. , THANK YOU. I, I DO HAVE A QUESTION. HOW, HOW AM I GONNA GET THEIR INFORMATION FOR THEIR MEETINGS AND STUFF? WILL SOMEBODY BE, USUALLY JEREMY SENDS AN EMAIL THAT GOES, I DON'T DO Y'ALL. I RECEIVE THE EMAILS, BUT I'M NOT SURE. JENNIFER, DO YOU RE I MEAN, SO COMMISSIONER POWELL, DO YOU RECEIVE THOSE EMAILS FROM AS WELL FROM JEREMY ABOUT MEETING INVITES? I DO. I RECEIVE THEM FOR THE JOINT INCLUSION COMMITTEE. UM, [00:35:02] UM, I'LL, I'LL EMAIL JEREMY AND, UM, VICE CHAIR, I'LL, I'LL MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE INCLUDED ON THAT SINCE YOU ARE NOW OFFICIALLY THE ALTERNATE. OKAY, GREAT. THANK YOU. YOU'RE VERY WELCOME. ALL RIGHT. LOOKS LIKE, UH, WE'RE NOW, THAT'S ALL WE HAD OTHER THAN FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS. SO [FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS] I KNOW THERE WAS A FEW THAT WE MENTIONED. SO THEN WE CAN USE THIS KIND OF TASK GROUP, TASK FORCE KIND OF WAY OF THINKING AND THEN EXPAND THAT INTO OTHER VENUES AND HAVE SOMETHING SOLID THAT WE CAN GO FROM. OKAY. SOUNDS GOOD. UM, SO WE, SO OUR PROCESS IS THAT WE HAD, WE HAD TO VOTE ON AGENDA ITEMS. UM, DID, COULD YOU MAKE THAT INTO A MOTION AND THEN I'LL ASK FOR A SECOND. OKAY. A MO A MOTION THAT WE ESTABLI NURSE, A WORKING GROUP TO REVIEW, UM, MUSICAL VENUES, ENTERTAINMENT VENUES IN THE CITY OF BOSTON, IN THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TO SEE HOW IT CAN BE IMPROVED UPON, UH, TO PE FOR, TO PEOPLE WITH DISABIL DISABILITIES IN AUSTIN. UH, COMMISSIONERS AS WE VOTE, COULD YOU JUST MAKE SURE, SINCE WE ARE VOTING, I DON'T SEE THEIR CAMERA AS AVAILABLE. WHEN I FIRST LOGGED ON MY CAMERA, IT WAS NOT AVAILABLE. AND YOU CAN SEE THE PARTICIPANTS LIST THAT THERE ARE TWO PEOPLE THAT DON'T HAVE, LIKE, THERE'S A LITTLE MUTE BUTTON, BUT THERE'S NOT THE CAMERA NEXT TO IT. AND WHEN I FIRST LOGGED ON, MY CAMERA WASN'T AVAILABLE EITHER, AND THEN SUDDENLY IT JUST ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO TURN MY CAMERA ON. OKAY. UM, ARE WE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE WHICH COMMISSIONERS THOSE ARE? YES. YEAH. HOLD ON. COMMISSIONER BETS, I BELIEVE, AND WE HAVE ENOUGH TO MOVE FORWARD WITH, WITH THAT VOTE WITHOUT THAT COMMISSIONER. OKAY. IF WE NEED TO. OKAY. NO, THE CAMERA IS NOT ON CHAIR. HMM. ARE CITY STAFF, ARE YOU ABLE TO PROVIDE ANY TYPE OF ASSISTANCE? MAYBE THERE'S SOMETHING, I DON'T KNOW. I'M, I'M GONNA LEAVE AND COME BACK IN AND SEE IF THAT WORKS. IF YOU DON'T, OKAY. [00:40:01] WE'LL GIVE IT ANOTHER MINUTE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE, EVERYBODY. WE JUST HAVE TO MAKE THIS OFFICIAL, OFFICIAL. SO PLUS WE HAVE 15 MINUTES LEFT OF THIS MEETING. SO, , I JUST WANNA, WHILE WE WAIT, I JUST WANT TO PERSONALLY WELCOME EV ALL THE NEW COMMISSIONERS. THAT WILL BE ON THE NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA. ANY OTHER FURTHER AGENDA ITEMS? WE HAVE A LOT OF TIME STILL Y'ALL, BUT I KNOW EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN LIVES TO GET TO, BUT I JUST WANNA MAKE SURE THAT NO ONE FEELS LEFT OUT. EVERYONE FEELS INCLUDED. THAT'S JUST WHO I AM. SO I'LL OPEN THE FLOOR AGAIN FOR ANY FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS. IF NOT, YOU CAN EMAIL ME. UM, THE PROCESS IS IF YOU WANT A FUTURE AGENDA ITEM, YOU WILL NEED ANOTHER COMMISSIONER'S, UM, SUPPORT. BUT I WILL OPEN THE FLOOR ONE MORE TIME FOR ANY OTHER FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS. UM, THIS IS COMMISSION RAMIREZ. GO FOR IT. UM, I WAS INTERESTED, UM, IN, I'M NOT SURE WHAT MAY HAVE BEEN DONE PREVIOUSLY IN AN ITEM RELATED TO HOW THE CITY ASSESSES WALKABILITY WITHIN CITY PLANNING AND HOW THAT MAY INTERSECT WITH ACCESSIBILITY IN THE CITY, UM, AS THE CITY IS WORKING ON, UM, MOBILITY AND ALL THAT KIND OF STUFF. OKAY. SO NORMALLY WHAT WE DO WITH THOSE IS WE ASK FOR A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THAT TO PICK PARTICULAR DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY. UM, SO ONE THING WE COULD DO IS ASK, UM, TO REACH OUT TO A REPRESENTATIVE TO COME SPEAK ABOUT THAT. UH, USUALLY THE, THE LIAISON WILL MAKE A CONNECTION WITH THAT PARTICULAR DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY, AND THEN WE CAN PUT THAT ON THE AGENDA FOR PRESENTATION. WELL, I'M MOTION THAT WE ASK THE, UH, OUR REPRESENTATIVE TO GO TO THEM, DO A PRESENTATION AND BE GOOD PRESENTATION FOR THE NEW, UH, PEOPLE ON THE COMMITTEE AS WELL. MM-HMM. , I THINK THAT WOULD BE GREAT. JUST SO THAT WE COULD, UM, YEAH, BECAUSE I MEAN, I WAS USING THE, JUST GOING WALKING UP [00:45:01] MY STREET THE OTHER DAY, YOU KNOW, AS ME AS A BLIND PERSON. AND JUST AFTER MY BUS STOP, THERE'S NO SIDEWALK . AND SO THAT'S DEFINITELY, DEFINITELY, WE'VE HAD PRESENTATIONS IN THE PAST, BUT I THINK, UH, AN UPDATE WOULD BE VERY BENEFICIAL. SO I WILL SUPPORT THAT. UM, SO IF YOU WANT, UH, COMMISSIONER RAM RAMIREZ, IF YOU JUST WANNA MAKE A MOTION THAT WE ASK FOR A REPRESENTATIVE TO SPEAK AT OUR FUTURE MEETING, WE CAN GO FROM THERE. UM, OH, ALRIGHT. UM, I MOTION, UM, THAT, UM, AS A FUTURE AGENDA ITEM, WE HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE COME TO SPEAK TO US REGARDING, UM, IS THERE A SPECIFIC WAY, DO YOU WANT ME TO PHRASE THE AGENDA ITEM, HOWEVER YOU WANT TO PHRASE IT. AND WE'LL WORK OUT THE DE THE KINKS AND THE DETAILS. , UM, HAVE REPRESENTATIVE COME GIVE AN UPDATE, UM, ON CITY WALKABILITY AND, AND ACCESSIBILITY WITH PATHWAYS AND CITY PLANNING. OKAY. UH, THERE HAS BEEN MOTION. IS THERE A SECOND? UH, SECOND. THIS IS THE SECOND. ALL RIGHT. MM-HMM. , SECOND, THIRD, FOURTH, FIFTH, AND SIXTH. ALL RIGHT. ALL RIGHT. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR. UM, JUST WANNA MAKE SURE EVERYONE'S CAMERA'S ON BEFORE WE PROCEED WITH A VOTE, OR ENOUGH CAMERAS, AT LEAST. YES. AWESOME. ALL RIGHT. ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, PLEASE SIGNIFIED BY SAYING AYE. AYE. AYE. SO EVEN IF IT'S NOT FOR NEXT MEETING, UM, DURING YOUR TERM, PLEASE TALK WITH ME, TALK TO THE COMMISSION, UM, DURING OUR MEETINGS, UM, I WILL REALLY WANT ACTION TO BE TAKEN PLACE SO THAT WE CAN GET THIS, THIS COMMISSION GET THINGS DONE IN AUSTIN. SO I WILL LEAVE THE FLOOR OPEN FOR ONE FINAL CALL FOR ANY FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS. ALL RIGHT. HEARING NONE, I WILL ACCEPT A MOTION TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. MOTION TO ADJOURN AS MOVED.
