[00:00:04] HI, EVERYONE. [Call to Order & Introductions] GOOD AFTERNOON. HAPPY FRIDAY. WELCOME TO OUR NEW AUSTIN ENERGY BUILDING. IT IS AN INCREDIBLE BUILDING. I'M SUPER EXCITED ABOUT IT. UM, AND I HAVEN'T, I THINK THIS IS ONLY MY SECOND TIME TO BE HERE, SO, SO THEY DID GIVE ME A TOUR LAST TIME. RECORDING IN PROGRESS. WONDERFUL. OKAY. SO IT IS FRIDAY, JUNE 9TH, 1:12 PM AND I AM CALLING THE MEETING OF THE COMMUNITY ADVANCEMENT NETWORK BOARD TO ORDER. WE HAVE A LOT PACKED TODAY FOR OUR AGENDA. UH, BUT WE WANTED TO START WITH A LITTLE SPECIAL, UM, PRESENTATION TO KICK OFF OUR, OUR MEETING. AND I WANTED, IF TAMARA ATKINSON CAN JOIN ME HERE AT THE FRONT, WE HAVE A PASSING OF THE GAVEL. UH, AND WE WANNA THANK TAMARA FOR HER LEADERSHIP FOR SERVING AS CHAIR OF THE BOARD LAST YEAR IN 2022. UH, IT WAS A REALLY INTERESTING YEAR FOR HER TO CHAIR THE BOARD SINCE WE WERE STILL PRIMARILY VIRTUAL MOST OF THE YEAR. UM, AND SO WE JUST WANTED TO SHARE OUR GRATITUDE AND SAY THANK YOU. THANK YOU SO MUCH. THANK YOU. MUCH APPRECIATE. THANK YOU. WANNA SAY B WORD? I JUST WANNA SAY SPEECH. WELL, LET ME PULL OUT THE 12 PAGE. I , UH, NO. I, I THANK YOU. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, COUNCIL MEMBER. THANK YOU, RA. THANK YOU STAFF. UH, IT WAS REALLY AN HONOR. I, UH, I FOLLOWED IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF MANY GREAT LEADERS, UH, SOME MANY OF WHO ARE AROUND THE TABLE TODAY, WHO REALLY BELIEVE IN THE WORK OF A COMMUNITY TOGETHER ON CRITICAL, FRANKLY, OR NOT, FROM THE WAY THEY'RE CANCELED. THANK YOU. AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED LEADERSHIP. THANK YOU. WONDERFUL. VERY NICE. OKAY, SO DO WE HAVE ANYONE SIGNED UP TO PROVIDE COMMENT TODAY? WE DO NOT HAVE ANYBODY SIGNED UP. COUNCIL MEMBER. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, CARLOS. ALL RIGHTY. SO NEXT UP ON OUR AGENDA IS THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL REPORT. I DON'T SEE, DONOVAN IS NOT HERE YET. SO WE'LL, UH, PUT THAT ITEM ON HOLD AND COME BACK TO IT. NEXT WE'LL HAVE [CAN Executive Director’s Report] RAUL ALVAREZ, OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO PROVIDE HIS ED REPORT. OKAY. STAND UP. SOUND A LITTLE WINDY, BUT, UH, IT IS FRIDAY . BUT, UH, THANK Y'ALL FOR BEING HERE ON A FRIDAY. AND, UM, IT'S, UH, LOT HAPPENED ALREADY IN THIS FIRST, UH, SIX MONTHS OR FIVE. SEEM A LITTLE BIT MORE OF 2023, BUT, UH, AND WHEN IS IT? MY DAUGHTER FINISHED HER FIRST YEAR IN COLLEGE. SOMEHOW I WAS LIKE, HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? UH, BUT, UH, UM, AND NOW SHE'S GOT AN INTERNSHIP AND DOING SUMMER CLASSES, AND I WAS LIKE, MAN, IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I WAS A PRELOADER BACK IN, BACK IN THE DAY, . BUT, UM, BUT YEAH, NO, IT'S BEEN EXCITING YEAR ALREADY. YOU KNOW, WE, UH, YOU KNOW, WE'RE GONNA TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE MENTAL HEALTH CAMPAIGN, UM, AND THEN KIND OF EASE INTO OUR, UH, ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, UH, EXERCISE THAT WE WANT TO DO. UM, WE ALREADY DID A FUN ONE WITH OUR PLANNING TEAM, BUT WE WANT TO DO ONE WITH, WITH OFF . BUT ANYWAY, SO, UH, WE, UM, YOU KNOW, OUR PRIORITIES THIS YEAR KIND OF ARE BASED ON, UH, ON, UM, THE DATA IN OUR DASHBOARD, RIGHT? AND, AND ALSO OFFENSIVELY BASED ON, UM, WHAT WAS HAPPENING DURING THE PANDEMIC, RIGHT? WHEN WE PICKED THESE TWO PRIORITY AREAS, WHICH IS, UH, ADDRESSING COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS. AND ALSO, UH, UM, ENSURING EQUITABLE ECONOMIC RECOVERY WAS ACTUALLY HALFWAY THROUGH THE PANDEMIC, AND WE HAD ALMOST ALREADY IDENTIFIED. UM, ALL RIGHT. YEAH. SO, UH, SO WE'RE CONTINUING OUR WORK, UM, ON THESE TWO PRIORITY ISSUES. UM, AND WE'RE, UM, ON OUR WAY, RIGHT, ON A NUMBER OF MENTAL HEALTH RELATED KIND OF INITIATIVES AND PROJECTS. AND, UM, I'LL TALK ABOUT THAT A LITTLE BIT. AND THEN, UM, AND THEN AGAIN, WE'LL TRANSITION INTO KIND OF THIS ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY PART OF THE CONVERSATION. WE KIND OF SPEND THE FIRST YEAR KIND OF REALLY FOCUSED ON MENTAL HEALTH, AND WE'RE GONNA TRANSITION TO ENSURING INEQUITABLE ECONOMIC RECOVERY. AND, UM, OH, THANK YOU. THAT'S, THAT'S WHY IT'S NOT WORKING. IT'S [00:05:01] CUZ HE'S GONNA DO IT. . YES SIR. ABSOLUTELY. THAT'S A LOT EASIER. I DON'T IF YOU, I DON'T HAVE TO INTERACT WITH TECHNOLOGY. THAT'S, THAT'S THE BEST, THAT'S THE BEST WAY. UH, BUT YOU SEE, AGAIN, OUR PRIORITIES ARE THE TWO THAT I MENTIONED AND WE'RE CONTINUING OUR LANGUAGE ACCESS WORK AND ALSO, UM, THIS EQUITY IN THE PANDEMIC RECOVERY, IT'S LIKE WE'RE TRYING TO BE RELENTLESS WITH THAT, BUT THERE'S STILL SOME IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE THERE. UM, INCORPORATING EQUITY INTO HOW THE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER KIND OF WORKS. AND CUZ WE KIND OF KEEP GETTING VERY CRITICAL INCIDENTS HAPPENING, RIGHT? AND, UH, IT'S IMPORTANT THAT, UH, THAT ALL THE COMMUNITIES GET SERVED WELL, AND I KNOW COUNCIL MEMBER'S BEEN ONE OF OUR CHAMPIONS, YOU KNOW, TRYING TO MOVE THAT ON THE CITY SIDE, RIGHT? AND, UM, BUT, UH, GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE. SEE WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO TALK ABOUT, BECAUSE HERE'S WHY WE PICKED MENTAL HEALTH, RIGHT? THIS IS, UH, UM, I THINK WE DO HAVE A, A REVISED SLIDE, UM, IN THE, IN THE, UH, COMMUNITY COUNCIL MENTAL HEALTH REPORT THAT HAS 2021 DATA, RIGHT? SO IT ACTUALLY WENT UP ABOVE 30%. THIS PARTICULAR, UH, INDICATOR, WHICH IS ADULTS REPORTING POOR MENTAL HEALTH, UH, FIVE DAYS OF POOR MENTAL HEALTH IN ONE MONTH, RIGHT? SO IT'S, IT'S NOT A CLINICAL, UM, DIAGNOSIS, RIGHT? OR, OR INDICATOR. IT'S MORE GENERALLY HOW ARE PEOPLE DOING, RIGHT? UH, AND YOU KNOW, WE HAD SINCE 2017 OR WHEREVER IT SHOWS THAT IT JUST STARTED COMMAS GOING UP. UH, IF YOU LOOK AT THE TREND LINE, GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE. AND SO THIS IS KIND OF WHAT WE'RE DOING AROUND ON THAT ISSUE. UH, WE HAVE THE MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING INITIATIVE, AND I'LL GIVE A LITTLE BIT OF AN UPDATE ON THAT. UM, UH, LANGUAGE ACCESSES AND MENTAL HEALTH AGAIN, THAT WE HAVE, WE GOT SOME FUNDING FROM ST. DAVID'S AND FROM, UH, OTHER SOURCES, RIGHT? TO, UM, TO CREATE, UM, DA, WHAT IS IT? TOOLKITS, I CAN'T EVEN, CAN'T EVEN COME UP WITH THE WORDS. RIGHT? TOOLKITS IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES AROUND MENTAL HEALTH AND WORKING WITH A LOT OF OUR CAN, YOU KNOW, HEALTH PARTNERS AROUND THAT AND OTHER COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS. AND THEN FINALLY, UM, WE MENTIONED THE COMMUNITY, THE MENTAL HEALTH REPORT THAT, UH, OUR COMMUNITY COUNCIL JUST PUBLISHED. NEXT SLIDE. AND SO THIS, HERE'S WHERE, WHERE WE'RE AT AT THE MOMENT, RIGHT? WITH OUR TRAININGS, WE'RE KIND OF TAKING STOCK AND, YOU KNOW, LEARNING FROM THE FIRST TWO, THREE TRAININGS WE DID IN MAY. AND, UH, WORKING WITH INTEGRAL CARE STAFF TO PLAN OUT BETWEEN NOW AND CUZ THE END OF MAY, THE END OF JUNE, RIGHT NEXT YEAR TO WHERE WE WANNA BE AT ONE A THOUSAND PEOPLE TRAINED FROM OUR CAN PARTNERS. UM, AND SO, UM, SO WE HAD A, I THINK THREE TRAININGS IN MAY TO TOTAL OF 52 PEOPLE GOT TRAINED. SO WE'RE OFF TO, WE'RE OFF TO THE RACES AND UH, I KNOW THE CITY AND THE COUNTY HAVE THEIR OWN TRAININGS, UM, SCHEDULED, UH, OUR, UM, OUR, UM, STRATEGY FOR THE SUMMER, KIND OF JULY AND AUGUST IS TO WORK WITH OUR EDUCATION PARTNERS CUZ THAT'S SORT OF OUR WINDOW TO REALLY SCHEDULE THINGS THAT, UM, THAT CATER MORE TOWARDS K THROUGH 12 AND HIGHER ED, RIGHT? SO, SO WE'LL BE TRY, WE'LL BE PROMOTING THOSE DATES, UH, WITH OUR EDUCATION PARTNERS. AND THEN STARTING IN SEPTEMBER WE'LL PROBABLY HAVE LIKE A CADENCE OF LIKE TWO TRAININGS PER MONTH FOR THE NEXT NINE OR 10 MONTHS. UM, AND THEN WE WILL SEE IF WE NEED TO UP, UP THAT IF WE NEED TO HIT OUR GOAL RIGHT IN ORDER TO HIT OUR GOAL, CUZ OKAY, YOU DIDN'T BRING THE GRAPHIC THAT ACTUALLY HAS THE, THE THERMOMETER . THERE'S ANOTHER GRAPHIC LIKE THIS ONE OVER HERE, UH, ON MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID. THAT'S LIKE A LITTLE GAUGE THAT TELLS YOU HOW CLOSE ARE WE TO, TO THE GOALS. SO THANK YOU COUNCIL MEMBER FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP ON THAT. AND UM, AND AGAIN, SEPTEMBER AND BEYOND IS GONNA BE, YOU KNOW, SCHEDULING A COUPLE OF, UM, UM, A COUPLE OF, UM, TRAININGS PER MONTH. SO NEXT, NEXT SLIDE. I THINK WE TRANSITIONED TO KIND OF THE ECONOMIC SIDE. THIS IS THE, UH, THE INDICATOR THAT WE USE IN THE DASHBOARD FOR KIND OF, UH, IN TERMS OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY IS UNEMPLOYMENT. IT'S NOT THE BEST, RIGHT? BECAUSE THIS IS AN ANNUAL, UM, THIS IS AN ANNUAL SORT OF FIGURE FROM THE CENSUS. CARLOS, IS THAT WHERE IT'S FROM? THE, THE UNEMPLOYMENT? CUZ UNEMPLOYMENT IS FROM THEORAL LABOR STATISTICS. OH, OKAY. SORRY. BLS. AND, UM, AND SO YOU SEE AGAIN, THE DISPARITIES ACROSS RACE, RIGHT? IN TERMS OF, UH, ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AND OF, YOU KNOW, THERE'S A LOT OF RESEARCH WE DID, UM, DURING THE PANDEMIC OR, OR A LOT OF RESEARCH THAT WAS DONE SHOWING THAT THE, UH, ECONOMIC IMPACTS WERE, UM, WERE DISPROPORTIONATELY RIGHT. AFFECTING WOMEN AND AFFECTING PEOPLE OF COLOR. AND, UM, SO WE'RE GONNA ADDRESS, UH, THOSE ISSUES, UH, IN A LITTLE BIT. LET'S GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE. UM, AND SO WHAT, YOU KNOW, WE'RE, UH, WE STARTED KIND OF MEETING WITH OUR EXPANDING [00:10:01] OPPORTUNITY TEAM IN MARCH AND, UH, WE HAVE OUR MEETING TODAY, RIGHT IN JUNE TO FINISH THE PROCESS OF PRIORITIZING AMONG THE OPTIONS. AND THEN ONCE WE HAVE THE OPTIONS, WE WILL, WE'LL SET UP SOME ACTIVITIES BETWEEN NOW AND NOVEMBER, WHICH IS IN NOVEMBER IS WHEN WE'LL HAVE OUR, OUR EXPANDING OPPORTUNITY REGIONAL SUMMIT. SO AGAIN, THE DECISIONS WE MAKE TODAY WILL HELP US, WE'LL HELP INFORM WHAT ALL THAT LOOKS LIKE FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS AND, UH, GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE. AND THIS IS FOR OUR EXERCISE. OH, ACTUALLY THERE'S A, I'M I'M NOT BE, I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO READ CUZ I'M HAVING A READER ISSUE , BUT BEFORE WE GO TO THE EXERCISE, SINCE WE, SINCE WE SKIPPED, UH, I MAY HAVE TO AS WE GO FORWARD IN THE, IN THE MEETING , BUT, UH, BUT BEFORE I GO INTO THIS NEXT PART, WHICH IS RELATED TO OUR EXERCISE RIGHT, OF PRIORITIZATION, THEN UH, I'LL END MY REPORT, UH, MADAM CHAIR SO THAT WE CAN, UH, GO BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY COUNCIL REPORT. THANK YOU. THANK YOU RAUL. ANY QUESTIONS FOR OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR? YES, I DID HAVE SOMETHING I SKIPPED OVER. DO YOU WANNA SAVE THAT FOR THE NEXT PORTION? YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT CAUSE WE'RE DOING PERFECT. ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? OKAY, GREAT. UM, COUPLE QUESTIONS I HAD, RAUL IS, I'M PLEASED TO SEE THAT THERE'S TWO TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED FOR EDUCATION PARTNERS IN DURING THE SUMMER. HAVE THOSE BEEN SHARED WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND YEAH, WE'RE NOT HAVING MUCH LUCK WITH THE FIRST ONE, WHICH IS MID-JULY. SO, UH, SO WE REACHED OUT SPECIFICALLY TO, CUZ I KNOW MAYER AND DEL VALLEY HAD REACHED OUT TO US INTERESTED IN THE TRAINING. SO WE'RE GONNA WORK WITH INTEGRAL CARE STAFF TO SPEC TO SCHEDULE SOMETHING LIKE AROUND THEIR NEEDS, RIGHT? INSTEAD OF JUST RANDOMLY PICKING DATES, KIND OF LIKE PICKING 'EM FOR MAYNARD AND DEL VALLEY. AND, UM, AND, AND THAT'S A YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH, WHICH IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN THE ADULT MENTAL HEALTH. SO FOR OUR HIGHER ED PARTNERS, AGAIN, YOU KNOW, KIND OF LOOKING AT THE ADULT MENTAL HEALTH, WHICH IS REALLY WHAT MOST OF OUR TRAININGS WILL BE IS ADULT MENTAL HEALTH. SO, SO FOR THOSE TWO, ARE THEY FOR HIGHER ED PARTNERS, LIKE WHO ARE THEY PROMOTED TO SO FAR? SO FAR WE HAVE, UH, I THINK MORE K THROUGH 12. UM, SO THE AUGUST, WHATEVER THAT AUGUST DATE WAS. UM, BUT WE'RE GONNA, UH, SET A FEW MORE, UM, THAT MAY END UP, MAY END UP BEING K THROUGH 12 TWO, BUT, YOU KNOW, I'LL, I'LL REACH OUT TO, UH, TO OUR HIGHER ED PARTNERS TO SEE HOW THEY KIND OF, WHAT THEY WANNA DO. UM, BUT I THINK ANY, ANY, ANY TRAINING THAT'S ADULT MENTAL HEALTH COULD REALLY, UH, ANYONE COULD GO TO RIGHT? ANY OF OUR PARTNERS. YEAH. YEAH. I KNOW FOR DEL VALLEY, UH, ANNETTE IS INTERESTED IN PROVIDING A TRAINING, BUT SHE HASN'T, UM, HEARD YET. SO I DON'T KNOW, LIKE WHAT IS THE BEST PROCESS IN GETTING OUR PARTNERS TRAINED UP OR PROVIDING A TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR A CAN PARTNER? SHOULD WE JUST CONNECT THEM TO YOU? YEAH, JUST CONNECT TO ME AND, UM, CUZ I KNOW ONE VOICE ALSO, I DON'T THINK THEIR REP IS HERE. SHE, SHE EMAILED SAYING SHE COULDN'T COME, BUT, UM, BUT THEY WANNA DO ONE SPECIFIC FOUR, ONE VOICE, RIGHT? SO, SO ONCE WE HAVE OUR CALENDAR, IT'S LIKE, WELL, HERE'S OUR DATES. DO YOU WANNA PICK 1, 4, 1? YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? SO, SO I THINK THAT'S ONCE WE GET OUR CAL, WE JUST MET WITH INTEGRAL CARE STAFF YESTERDAY TO KIND OF MAP OUT THE YEAR. SO ONCE I GET THE DATES OFFICIALLY AND THEN THERE THE EVENT RIGHTS AND REGISTRATION PROCESSES SET UP, THEN WE'LL, UH, WE'LL REACH OUT TO THE ONES, THE PEOPLE WHO ARE REACHING OUT TO ME SAYING, HEY, WE WANT OUR OWN, OR HOW DO WE GO ABOUT SCHEDULING SOMETHING THAT'S KIND OF SPECIFIC TO OUR NEEDS? YEAH. CAUSE THAT WOULD BE MY, MY LAST QUESTION IS FOR THE TWO SUMMER DATES, IF WE CAN SHARE, IS THERE A REGISTRATION LINK AVAILABLE FOR THOSE TWO TRAININGS? MM-HMM. , MAYBE WE CAN SEND THAT OUT VIA EMAIL TO OUR, OUR BOARD SO THAT FOLKS CAN CIRCULATE THOSE REGISTRATIONS. YEAH, I THINK WE WERE, BECAUSE NO ONE HAD SIGNED UP FOR THOSE, WE WERE LOOKING TO MOVE THE DATES. SO IF WE DO HAVE NEW DATES AND WE'LL GET THAT TO WHATEVER THE DATE IS, WE WILL GET THEM OUT EARLY NEXT WEEK TO EVERYONE. OKAY. AND, AND, BUT I THINK LIKE, PERHAPS, I DON'T KNOW IF PEOPLE KNEW TO SIGN UP, LIKE DID THEY KNOW I DID A SPECIFIC, UH, EMAIL TO OUR HIGHER ED PARTNERS, HIGHER ED AND K THROUGH 12? YEAH. THAT'S WHY WE GOT THE RESPONSES BACK FROM THEM AND NOT FROM ALL OUR OTHER, ALL OF OUR OTHER PARTNERS. GOTCHA. YEAH. OKAY. DONOVAN, YOU HAD A QUESTION OR COMMENT? I GOT A QUICK COMMENT. YES. THE LITTLE BUTTON WE ARE STREAMING LIVE ON AT XN. ALL RIGHT. AM I ON THE AIR? FANTASTIC. FANTASTIC. UM, RAUL, I JUST WANTED TO PUT A SUGGESTION OUT THERE. I I WAS IN K THROUGH 12 FOR, FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, UM, TOWARDS THE END OF JULY INTO AUGUST. THEY'RE GONNA BE DOING, DOING, UM, TEACHER ONBOARDING ORIENTATIONS AND ALSO ALL OF THE CLASSES THAT ARE REQUIRED FOR THEM TO START THE YEAR. UM, THAT MIGHT BE A GOOD SECTOR OF TIME TO, UM, [00:15:01] TO PROPOSE TO THE K THROUGH 12 SO THAT IT'S PART OF THEIR TEACHERS COMING BACK, UM, UH, WORK TRAINING. YEAH, BECAUSE BEGINNING OF JULY THEY'RE ON VACATION, MAN, THEY'RE GONE. YEAH. THAT, THAT'S WHAT WE'RE HEARING FROM THE DISTRICTS IS, UH, JULY IS NOT GREAT, BUT, UM, AUGUST IS, IS PREFERRED. AND EVEN FOR INTEGRAL CARE IT'S A SLOWER MONTH. SO IT ACTUALLY IS A GREAT, IS A GREAT, UH, MARRIAGE THERE, SO THANK YOU FOR THAT. YES. KIM , IS THAT, YEAH. JUST ONE OTHER SUGGESTION TO THINK ABOUT ON THE MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID FOR THE K THROUGH 12, IF THAT TRAINING'S GONNA HAPPEN IN THE SCHOOLS, IF THE TEACHERS IN ADMINISTRATION IS COOL WITH IT, IT'D BE INTERESTING TO OPEN THAT UP TO THE PTA IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, UM, BECAUSE THEN YOU MAYBE GET TWO BENEFITS, YOU GET THE TRAINING, PLUS ALSO YOU'RE BUILDING SORT OF THE CONNECTION AND COHESION WITHIN THAT NEIGHBORHOOD. THAT'S A GREAT IDEA. IT'S A GREAT IDEA. WE SHOULD DEFINITELY INCLUDE THE PTA IN THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS. THANK YOU. ALL RIGHT. SINCE WE HAVE DONNA, OH, ANOTHER NAME. YES. COMMISSIONER. EVERY CAMPUS SHOULD HAVE, UH, A, A PLANNING TEAM THAT IS, UH, THAT IS MADE UP OF SOME PEOPLE, UH, THAT ARE REPRESENTING TEACHERS, SOME FA UH, SOME FACULTY, UH, SOME OF THE LEADERS. AND THEN SO THAT YOU GET A GROUP, IT'S A PLANNING TEAM PER CAMPUS. THAT'S, THAT MIGHT BE THE POINT OF ACCESS. YOU'LL GET EVERYBODY INSTEAD OF ONE OF THOSE GROUPS WHEN YOU WANT 'EM ALL. THANK YOU. THANK YOU COMMISSIONER DONOVAN. WE'RE GONNA SWITCH OVER TO HAVE THE REPORT FROM OUR COMMUNITY COUNCIL. OKAY. UM, GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. OR AFTERNOON, PARDON ME. UH, JUST A BRIEF UPDATE ON OUR COMMUNITY COUNCIL. WE'RE KIND OF DRILLING IN ON, UM, OUR DIRECTION THAT WE'RE GOING. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE WANNA FOCUS ON THIS YEAR IS GETTING MORE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AS PART AS BEING THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL. SO FINDING MORE VOICES THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY, UM, AND, AND SEEING WHAT THEY NEED AS IT, UH, REFERS TO AN EQUITABLE, EQUITABLE ECONOMIC RECOVERY. GOT IT. , UM, DO THAT THREE TIMES. YEAH, I CAN'T, NO, NO. ONE TIME'S GOOD ENOUGH. AND, UH, WE'VE BEEN WORKING WITH RAUL, SO AFTER THE COMMITTEE GETS TOGETHER AND THEY ISOLATE THE DIRECTION THAT THEY'RE GOING, WE'RE GONNA ENSURE THAT WE DON'T DUPLICATE THE PROCESS. SO WE'RE GONNA MAKE SURE TO ANGLE OUR, OUR DIRECTION, HOPEFULLY MORE TOWARDS THE YOUTH AND ELDERLY HAVE BEEN THE KEYS THAT WE'VE BEEN DISCUSSING. UM, SO THAT'S BASICALLY WHERE WE'RE AT IN THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL. UM, ALSO IF YOU ALL WOULD LIKE TO REFER ANYONE TO THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL, PLEASE DO SO. UH, WE'D LOVE TO HAVE A LITTLE MORE PARTICIPATION. UM, ANYONE IN ANY OF YOUR ORGANIZATIONS CAN DEFINITELY BE A PART OF IT. IT'D BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO GET INFORMATION ON BOTH SIDES, BOTH WHAT WE'RE DOING IN THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL AND ALSO BRINGING THAT TO LIGHT WITH WHAT'S GOING ON HERE. SO, ANY RECOMMENDATIONS? REFERENCES, PLEASE SEND THEM OUR WAY. THANK YOU. I'LL GIVE YOU ONE. UM, IF, IF YOU ARE WORKING WITH AFRICAN AMERICAN HEALTH INITIATIVES, UH, LARRY WALLACE SR. IS, IS OUR LEAD THERE. AND YOU'VE GOT A NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE, OR A NUMBER OF ORGANIZATIONS IN THE 66 33 BUILDING ON TWO 90, UH, WHICH IS LED BY THE AFRICAN AMERICAN, UH, HARVEST FOUNDATION. SO A NUMBER OF SERVICE PROVIDERS, I THINK 20 PLUS IN THAT ONE BUILDING. THANK YOU. ANY QUESTIONS OR ADDITIONAL COMMENTS FOR OUR CHAIR OF THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL? ALL RIGHT, THANK YOU. THANK YOU, DONOVAN. [Mental Health First Aid Update] UH, NEXT WE'RE GOING TO HAVE OUR MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID UPDATE. RAUL, YOU'VE TOUCHED ON, YOU KNOW, THE WHY WE CHOSE MENTAL HEALTH. WE TALKED ABOUT THE DIFFERENT, UH, STRATEGIES THAT WE HAVE GOING THROUGHOUT CAN AND HOW WE'RE FURTHERING THE CONVERSATION AROUND MENTAL HEALTH, UH, THE TRAINING INITIATIVE TO TRAIN 1000. WHAT OTHER UPDATES, OH, ACTUALLY BEFORE I TOSS IT OVER TO YOU, UM, WE DO HAVE TWO OF OUR CAN PARTNERS HERE TODAY WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THE TRAININGS IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. AND I WANTED TO SEE IF SIMONE OR LORETTA WOULD LIKE TO OH, WE HAVE THE CERTIFICATION. YES. , UH, IF ONE OF Y'ALL WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK ABOUT HOW THE TRAINING WENT. OH, HI EVERYONE. SO I DID THE VIRTUAL TRAINING AND EVEN THOUGH I DID IT SIX YEARS AGO, UM, MY UNDERSTANDING IS HOW WE COMMUNICATE ABOUT IT IS LIKE CPR, RIGHT? WE DO IT EVERY TWO TO THREE YEARS TO GET, UM, RECERTIFIED. UM, I FELT THE TRAINING WAS SUPERB. UM, IT, YOU KNOW, EVEN THE TWO AND A HALF HOURS PRIOR TO, UM, THE PRE-WORK BEFORE DOING THE FULL DAY OF TRAINING, THAT WAS VERY BENEFICIAL. I, I THOUGHT THE TRAINING WAS WELL, WELL DELIVERED, WELL THOUGHT OUT. THE SCENARIOS WERE VERY, [00:20:01] UM, ACCURATE IN THE SENSE THAT VERY REAL AND, UM, YEAH, IT WAS JUST REALLY VALUABLE INFORMATION. SO THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DESIGNED IT AND, UM, AND, AND MADE IT SO RELEVANT. SO THANK YOU. THANK YOU. YES, I, UH, WAS ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN AND WAS JOINED BY ACTUALLY CARLOS WITH CAN, AND WE BOTH DID THE IN-PERSON, UH, TRAINING AND FOUND IT TO BE VERY, NOT ONLY RELEVANT, BUT ALSO, UM, VERY HELPFUL IN TERMS OF JUST GIVING INFORMATION ON IDENTIFYING THE DIFFERENT POPULATIONS, THE DIFFERENT KINDS OF SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS THAT, UM, WE NEED TO BE MINDFUL OF. AND JUST SOME REAL KIND OF BASIC STRATEGIES AND HOW TO ENGAGE PEOPLE IN A WAY THAT IS NOT GONNA BE OFF-PUTTING OR CAUSE THEM TO BE DEFENSIVE. AND SO IT WAS VERY REALISTIC IN TERMS OF HOW THE INFORMATION WAS PRESENTED AND BECAUSE IT WAS PRESENTED BY FOLKS WITH INTEGRAL CARE AND, UM, I THINK THE COUNTY, IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN, IT WAS, IT WAS OKAY. THANK YOU. IT WAS, I THINK IT WAS WELL DONE AND IT WAS, UH, REALLY ENGAGING AND CAUSED US TO EVEN HAVE MORE CONVERSATION AND MORE, UM, INTEREST WAS ELICITED AND, UH, I MEAN, I, I THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD BE, AS I THINK I MENTIONED EARLIER, WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY FOR ANYBODY THAT'S A FIRST RESPONDER, ESPECIALLY LIKE AUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT, OUR EMS FOLKS, I MEAN, PEOPLE THAT ARE REALLY HAVING THAT, UM, UPFRONT, CLOSE AND PERSONAL INTERACTION WITH THE PUBLIC. YES. SO IT WAS VERY HELPFUL. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU ALL THAT WAS, IT'S REALLY GREAT TO HEAR ABOUT FEEDBACK ON HOW THE TRAINING IS GOING, AND THEN OF COURSE TO HAVE OUR CANNED BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATE. AND I KNOW THAT I'M PARTICIPATING IN THE TRAINING LATER THIS MONTH, AND PART OF, UH, WHAT RAUL HAS BEFORE US IS A PLEDGE DOCUMENT. UM, I'M GONNA ASK HIM TO GO OVER HERE SHORTLY. UH, AND SO CERTAINLY WE WILL BE THINKING ABOUT WHAT THAT PLEDGE LOOKS LIKE FOR OUR RESPECTIVE COMPANIES AND ORGANIZATIONS. RAUL, DO WE KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE WE'VE TRAINED OR HAVE SIGNED UP TO BE TRAINED SO FAR? YEAH, I THINK WE WERE AT 52, BUT I THINK THEY WERE REGISTERED, RIGHT? I THINK, UH, THERE WAS A FEW WHO DIDN'T SHOW UP THAT WILL TRY TO PLACE, YOU KNOW, IN, IN OTHER SESSIONS, RIGHT? CUZ THEY DID PAY. SO, UM, SO AGAIN, THAT'S THE JUGGLING ACT WITH UH, DAVID'S STAFF OVER AT INTEGRAL CARE, RIGHT? IT'S LIKE HOW DO WE, HOW DO WE MANAGE THAT SO THAT, AGAIN, IT'S NOT OVERLY BURDENSOME, RIGHT? ADMINISTRATIVELY, BUT, UM, BUT I BELIEVE AGAIN, UM, WHICH IS WHY WE MIGHT MOVE THE JULY TRAINING IS WE HAD LIKE ONE PERSON IN JULY AND LIKE THE AUGUST SESSION WAS FULL, RIGHT? SO WE MIGHT MOVE THAT JULY SESSION ALSO TO AUGUST. BUT AGAIN, TRYING TO WORK WITH DEL VALLEY AND MAYNARD TO SEE, WELL, WHAT DO YOU WANT IT IN PERSON? DO YOU WANT IT JUST FOR Y'ALL? YOU KNOW? SO, UM, BUT AGAIN, IN TERMS OF THE PLEDGE FORM, YOU KNOW, WE JUST THOUGHT, UH, UM, TO, FOR US TO GET A SENSE FOR, AGAIN, YOU KNOW, JUST HOW TO REACH OUT IF YOU'VE REACHED YOUR GOAL, MAYBE WE'LL STOP BOTHERING YOU, RIGHT? IT'S LIKE, UH, HAVE YOU GOTTEN YOUR BOOK TRAIN? HAVE YOU GOTTEN YOUR, BUT THE IDEA IS AGAIN, TO THINK ABOUT YOUR OWN ORGANIZATION AND I GO, THERE'S, THERE'S SOME REALLY SMALL ONES AND SOME REALLY LARGE ONES, RIGHT? UH, BUT, UM, AND MAYBE THINKING ABOUT WELL WHAT PERCENTAGE OF MY WORK WORKFORCE OR STAFF DO I WANT TRAINED RIGHT IN THE NEXT 10 MONTHS OR 11 MONTHS? UM, AND THAT'LL JUST GIVE US AN IDEA OF, UM, AGAIN, JUST IF, IF WE'RE GONNA BE ON TRACK TO MEET OUR GOAL, AND IF NOT, THEN UH, DO WE NEED TO BRING IN LIKE, CUZ AGAIN, A LOT OF FOLKS HAVE, UM, ADVISORY GROUPS AND VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDER GROUPS, RIGHT? SO WE MIGHT AGAIN BRING IN THE COMMUNITY TOO, CUZ I THINK THAT'S ONE OF THE OPEN QUESTIONS IS, UH, CAN WE BRING IN COMMUNITY TO THIS TO BE PART OF OUR TRAINING PROCESS? SO YES, EVERYONE PLEASE FILL OUT YOUR PLEDGE TODAY. UM, AND EVEN THINK THROUGH, LIKE I KNOW THE CITY OF AUSTIN, UH, JUST APPROVED A CONTRACT TO HELP TRAIN CITY OF AUSTIN EMPLOYEES, BUT FOR MY PLEDGE I'M COMMITTING 30 CITY COUNCIL STAFF AND COUNCIL MEMBERS AS MY PLEDGE. UM, SO I'M HOPING THAT BETWEEN ME AND 10 OTHER COUNCIL OFFICES, WE CAN GET 30 FOLKS TRAINED. UM, AND THAT'S PART OF MY PLEDGE. SO EVEN IF YOU KNOW, YOU'RE NOT NECESSARILY [00:25:01] THE ONE IN CHARGE OF YOUR ORGANIZATION, THINK ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT, UM, THAT YOU'RE LEADING OR THINK ABOUT ANY OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, BOARDS THAT YOU MAY SERVE ON THAT MIGHT BE ALSO INTERESTED IN JOINING US IN THIS EFFORT. AS RLU SAID, WE NEED TO DEVELOP STRATEGIES, BUT FIRST WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THE PLEDGES THAT COME IN FROM OUR CANNED BOARD PARTNERS SO THAT WE CAN FIGURE OUT WHERE ELSE WE NEED TO SUPPLEMENT AND THINK THROUGH HOW TO BRING ON ADDITIONAL COMMUNITY MEMBERS SO THAT WE HIT OUR THOUSAND. AND I WOULD ASK PROBABLY FOR OUR NEXT BOARD MEETING, IF, UH, AS PART OF THE UPDATE WE CAN GET, UM, THE SOME HARD NUMBERS ON HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THE TRAININGS, HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE REGISTERED SO THAT EVERY UH, BOARD MEETING CHECK-IN, WE HAVE A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF OUR PROGRESS. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR THOUGHTS? FEEDBACK ON THE MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID INITIATIVE UPDATE? YES. TRAIN THE TRAINER. YEAH, I THINK, UH, IF I COULD JUST, CUZ I'VE, I'VE BEEN TALKING TO HIM MAYBE MORE THAN EVEN DAVID HAS BEEN TALKING TO HIM, BUT, UH, BUT THEY DO HAVE, UH, TRAIN THE TRAINERS AT THE END OF JULY, RIGHT? IT'S THREE DAYS. UM, BUT YOU ALREADY HAVE TO HAVE TAKEN MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID YOURSELF. UM, BUT THEY TOLD US, WELL IF YOU CAN'T MAKE THAT, DON'T WORRY. WE DO, UH, TRAIN THE TRAINERS ABOUT ONCE A MONTH OR THEY CAN IF THEY, IF THERE'S INTEREST RIGHT? YOU KNOW, TURN IT AROUND PRETTY QUICK. SO, UM, SO I DO THINK THERE'S AN OPPORTUNITY THERE AND UH, AN INTEREST RIGHT IN IN FROM INTEGRAL CARE STAFF, RIGHT? REALLY TO, TO AGAIN, EXPAND OUR CAPACITY. CUZ IF WE WANT TO EXPAND THE NUMBER OF FOLKS THAT WE'RE SERVING THROUGH THIS, THEN WE CAN'T JUST DO IT WITH THE SAME NUMBER OF TRAINERS, RIGHT? AND EXPECT WE'RE GONNA DOUBLE THE OUTPUT OR TRIPLE THE OUTPUT. SO I DO THINK IT'S A GREAT, UH, PART OF THAT AND UM, AND HAPPY TO SHARE THAT WITH YOU, UH, BELA, UM, AND PUT YOU IN TOUCH WITH THEM CUZ I KNOW THAT THEY'RE TRYING TO FILL THOSE SLOTS, UH, FOR THE END OF JULY. SO THANK YOU AND NO PRESSURE COMMISSIONER TRILLIAN, BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE A CITY COUNCIL AND A COUNTY COMMISSIONER CHALLENGE HERE. CHALLENGE , DID YOU SAY YOUR COMMITTEE 30, 30 FROM COUNCIL STAFF, CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS AND STAFF, YOU NEED TO BE HIRED. UM, I THOUGHT YOU WERE GONNA SAY 250 CENTS. YOUR STAFF IS BIGGER THAN OURS AND WE COMMITTED A HUNDRED. I MEAN, I MEAN, I'M JUST SAYING I SECONDED A HUNDRED. I I MEAN IF WE JUST, LET'S PUSH IN THE CALENDAR JUNE 1ST, 2024. YES. YEAH. AND AGAIN, I THINK, UH, COUNCIL MEMBER TO YOUR POINT, ONCE WE HAVE THE FULL CALENDAR INSTEAD OF LIKE PLANNING TWO AT A TIME AND THEN ANOTHER TWO, AND THEN ANOTHER TWO IS IF WE HAVE THE FULL CALENDAR, UH, FOR THE YEAR, THEN AGAIN, IF YOU CAN'T DO SEPTEMBER, WELL YOU LOOK AT THE NEXT MONTH OR THE NEXT MONTH. SO I THINK THAT'LL HELP MAKE SURE EVERY SLOT GETS UTILIZED. CAUSE I THINK THAT'S THE CHALLENGE IS THE ONES WHERE YOU HAVE THE SLOW, THE SMALLEST LEAD TIME OR THE ONES THAT DON'T FILL UP. SO I THINK ONCE WE GET THOSE SEPTEMBER DATES, WHICH SHOULD BE NEXT WEEK, SEPTEMBER AND BEYOND RIGHT? THEN, THEN UH, THAT'LL GIVE US A COUPLE MONTHS TO RECRUIT FOR, FOR THOSE AND EVERYTHING AFTER THAT. SO THAT'S THE PLAN. OH, NO, I WAS JUST, SHE'S WORKING ON HER PLEDGE . ALL RIGHTY. WELL THANK YOU ALL AND PLEASE DO FILL OUT YOUR PLEDGE FORM. WE'LL COLLECT THOSE HERE AT THE END. UM, NEXT UP WE'LL [Learnings and Planning Team Work Relating to “Ensuring an Equitable Economic Recovery”] HAVE A PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION ON THE ENSURING AND EQUITABLE ECONOMIC RECOVERY SUMMIT AND OR RELATION TO THE REGIONAL SUMMIT. YEAH, AND I THINK, UH, SIMONE, I'LL, I'LL NOTE THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE ABOUT EIGHT OR NINE THAT ALREADY DID THE TRAINING. SO EXCEPT I THINK WE NEED TO PLUG IN SOME FOLKS IN FUTURE TRAININGS AS WELL. SO, UM, SO YEAH, THANK YOU FOR GETTING THE WORD OUT AND UH, PARTICIPATING AND UH, IT'S BEEN, UH, EXCITING, RIGHT? JUST TO HAVE, UH, UM, THIS KIND OF EFFORT THAT'S MEASURABLE AND TARGETED AND, UM, IT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S EASY, BUT, UH, BUT JUST TO SEE ALL THE ENERGY AROUND THIS TOPIC, I THINK IT'S SO IMPORTANT JUST GIVEN WHAT WE SEE HAPPENING IN, IN THE COMMUNITY [00:30:01] AND JUST, YOU CAN'T, ALMOST A DAY DOESN'T GO BY WHERE YOU DON'T SEE SOME KIND OF MENTAL HEALTH RELATED, UM, HEADLINE, RIGHT? SO, UH, BUT WE'RE GONNA SHIFT A LITTLE BIT OVER TO ENSURING AN EQUITABLE ECONOMIC RECOVERY. THERE'S A COUPLE OF, UH, ATTACHMENTS IN YOUR PACKET. UM, AND I DID DO A MAKESHIFT FIX OF MY, OF MY READERS. HOPEFULLY THEY HOLD UP FOR THIS SEGMENT, . UH, BUT YOU SEE THAT THIS IS SORT OF SOME RESEARCH WE ALREADY DID, RIGHT ON, UM, UH, THE THREE PAGE, UM, RESOURCE LIST, YOU KNOW, FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD, YOU KNOW, CUZ UM, YOU KNOW, THROUGH OUR FORUMS AND THROUGH OUR SUMMIT, YOU KNOW, WE HAD SOME IDEAS EMERGE, UM, FOR POSSIBLE AREAS OF FOCUS FOR CAN. UM, AND SO, UM, WHEN WE HAD OUR FIRST MEETING OF, OF THE PLANNING TEAM, THEY SAID, WELL, WE'D KIND OF LIKE TO HAVE A BETTER IDEA OF WHAT'S, WHAT'S GOING ON. SO AGAIN, THIS ISN'T EXHAUSTIVE, IT'S JUST IS THERE ENOUGH INFO HERE FOR US TO PRIORITIZE AND FO YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? LIKE FOCUS OR WHAT DO YOU CALL NARROW, NARROW AND NARROW TILL WE GET TO, TO THE, THE, THE ACTION OR THE STRATEGY THAT WE, WE MOST WANT. AND SO SOME REALLY GOOD STUFF ON HERE. A LOT OF, UM, A LOT OF EXCITING STUFF HAPPENING, ESPECIALLY KIND OF IN THE WORKFORCE SPACE. UM, AND, UM, AND THERE'S A LOT AROUND SMALL BUSINESS SUCCESS TOO. AND I KNOW, UH, LORETTA SENT ME ONE ANOTHER RESOURCE TO ADD TO THE, THE, THE PART RELATING TO, UH, RACISM, YOU KNOW, HATE CRIMES AND, UH, HATE AGAINST THE ASIAN COMMUNITY OR IMMIGRANTS. UM, AND SO THAT'S KIND OF A BACKGROUND INFORMATION TO HELP THE PROCESS, UH, WITH THE COMMITTEE. AND SO THE COMMITTEE, THIS OTHER ONE THAT'S GOTTEN A LITTLE MORE COLORFUL, RIGHT, UM, IS THE OUTCOMES OF A LITTLE POLL WE DID WITH OUR PLANNING TEAM, UH, TRYING TO PRIORITIZE AMONGST THE OPTIONS. UM, AGAIN, THAT ARE AGAIN, A LITTLE WITH A LITTLE MORE DETAIL IN THIS LONGER DOCUMENT. BUT HERE YOU SEE, UH, THAT THE, THE TOP FOUR, ONE THROUGH FOUR, AND THEY'RE KIND OF, YOU KNOW, LISTED OUT HERE BELOW THAT. THOSE WERE THE ONES THAT GOT THE, THE TOP SCORES ARE AT LEAST, AGAIN, IT'S ALL PRETTY CLOSE, RIGHT? YOU KNOW, WE DON'T HAVE A BIG SAMPLE SIZE FOR OUR SURVEY, UH, BUT UM, BUT YOU DO SEE A LOT MORE INTEREST IN THESE FOUR THAN IN THE OTHER THREE, BUT YOU'LL ALSO NOTE THAT UNDER FIVE, SIX, AND SEVEN, RIGHT? UM, WELL FIVE DIDN'T GET AS MUCH SUPPORT, SIX AS APPRENTICESHIPS, RIGHT? WHICH REALLY RELATES BACK TO WORKFORCE, RIGHT? WHICH IS, UM, WHICH IS NUMBER TWO, RIGHT? SO, SO IN A WAY YOU COULD, YOU KNOW, COMBINE THE APPRENTICESHIPS WITH THE WORKFORCE DISCUSSION AND IN THE UNDER COMPLICATING FACTORS IN THE BACK, YOU HAVE THE RACISM AND THE SMALL BUSINESS IMPACTS, RIGHT? UH, DURING COVID AND OF COURSE THOSE WERE LAID BACK TO NUMBER FOUR, RIGHT? WHICH IS ON THE FRONT SIDE. UM, SO IN A WAY IT LOOKS LIKE TWO AND FOUR REALLY, IF WE WOULD, YOU KNOW, HAVE, UM, A LITTLE COMBINATION OF ISSUES THAT ARE RELATED, UM, WOULD BE GOOD. SO, SO [Prep for Prioritization Exercise] WHAT WE WANNA DO IS TAKE THE TOP FOUR, JUST CUZ YOU KNOW, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER THEY'RE, THEY'RE THE TOP VOTE GETTERS IS GO THROUGH, UM, A LITTLE, UH, PRIORITIZATION EXERCISE AND HOPEFULLY IT'LL BE A LITTLE FUN AND THEN WE'LL, UH, GET US MOVING. AND THEN I DON'T KNOW IF WE'LL HAVE TIME TO TABULATE, BUT, UH, HOPEFULLY WE WILL. SO IF YOU CAN GRAB, UM, A STACK OF THESE, UM, THEY'RE, THEY ARE A SET, SO EACH OF YOU SHOULD HAVE A SET AND THERE'S, AND THERE'S FOUR OF 'EM, ONE FOR EACH OF THE OPTIONS, RIGHT? SO OPTION ONE, WHICH IS, UH, CREATING A FAMILY FRIENDLY WORKPLACE. UM, NUMBER TWO IS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, PROMOTING AND SUPPORTING EFFORTS AT UPSKILLING, UM, ADDRESSING AFFORDABILITY, RIGHT AS AN ISSUE. AND NUMBER FOUR, A FOCUS ON SMALL BUSINESSES. SO WE'RE GONNA DO OUR LITTLE PRIORITIZE PRIORITIZATION EXERCISE THAT WE'VE DONE IN THE PAST WHERE I'M GONNA ASK YOU TO PICK ONE OF THESE, JUST ONE, RIGHT? WHICHEVER ONE YOU FEEL MOST STRONGLY ABOUT MM-HMM. . AND THEN WE'RE GONNA WALK OVER TO THAT SIDE OF THE ROOM AND WE'RE GONNA GO THROUGH AN EXERCISE WHERE WE'RE GONNA, YOU SEE WHERE IT SAYS SCORE FOUR, SO GO AHEAD AND, UM, SO WE'RE GONNA, IT'S BETTER IF WE GET INTO OUR POSITIONS AND THEY'LL LIKE EXPLAIN HOW IT'S GONNA WORK. SO I THINK WE'LL HAVE TO PAUSE THE VIDEO CUZ WE'RE GONNA DO OUR INTERACTIVE, UH, EXERCISE IN THE BACK HERE. AND THEN WE'LL BE ALMOST DONE WITH, UM, THE ACTIVITIES FOR TODAY. SO, UM, SO LET'S CONGREGATE. WE'RE JUST GONNA WALK AND WE PICK ONE. JUST PICK ONE. OH YEAH, YEAH. EASIER SAID THAN DONE, RIGHT? . BUT PICK ONE AND THEN AGAIN, YOU'LL GET TO SCORE NOT JUST SCORING, [00:35:13] I DON'T REMEMBER THE NAME, THE NAME OF THE RIGHT. SO WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO IS, UM, DO LIKE FIVE ROUNDS ONLY FOR US. WE'RE GONNA BE THE SAME. SO WE'RE GONNA WALK AROUND AND MAKE MUSIC. MUSIC STOPS, YOU, MUSIC STOP, GONNA WALK AROUND, MUSIC STOPS. LET'S THIS BIG ONE WHEN YOU STOP, YOU ONE, YOU. SO, [00:42:09] SO WE'RE, THAT'S THE EASY ONE. HOPEFULLY TO TAKE THE SHOES OFF [00:45:03] ARE OKAY. SO IF YOU GIVE THESE COUNT, THANK Y'ALL FOR, FOR THAT. JUST TO, AGAIN, YOU KNOW, THERE'S DIFFERENT WAYS OF DOING THIS, UM, PRIORITIZATION AND WE COULD JUST SIT IN A CIRCLE AND GO AROUND AND HAVE EVERYONE TELL US, RIGHT? YOU KNOW. BUT, UH, WE TRY TO DO SOMETHING MORE INTERACTIVE THAT, UH, UM, GETS US TO, UM, AGAIN, IT GIVES US AN IDEA WHAT DOES THE GROUP KIND OF GENERALLY THINK AND UM, AND HOW DO WE NARROW BECAUSE MOST GROUPS IN AUSTIN, AND MAYBE I WON'T SAY I'M SURE IN OTHER COMMUNITIES, THAT THEY DON'T WANNA, YOU DON'T WANNA JUST LEAVE ANYTHING OUT, RIGHT? YOU'RE LIKE, WELL WHAT DID WE PICK TWO? AND THEN INEVITABLY YOU, YOU DO TWO AND RIGHT. TWO AND ONE MORE AND TWO AND TWO MORE. SO, WHICH WE MAY END UP DOING, BUT, BUT WE'LL, UH, WE'LL WE'LL DO SOME FOLLOW UP WITH YOU. THANKS FOR, FOR BEARING WITH US ON THAT, UH, LITTLE, UH, EXERCISE. SO, AND DAVID MOVES HERE, , SHE WAS ACTUALLY GOING TO THE BEAT. YOU KNOW, MOST OF US, MOST OF US WERE , MOST OF US WERE THINKING ABOUT THE LAST CORE WE DID AND WHETHER THAT WAS THE RIGHT NUMBER OR NOT, BUT SOME PEOPLE WERE ACTUALLY MOVING TO THE MOON, TO THE BEAT. SO, BUT NOW THANKS FOR DOING THAT AND UH, WE'LL KEEP YOU UPDATED KIND OF ONCE WE DO THE, THE BIG TABULATIONS. SO, AND WE WON'T HAVE A MEETING IN JULY, SO, UH, WE DON'T TYPICALLY MEET IN JULY AND JUST OH YEAH, JULY AND MARCH, CUZ MARCH CUZ OF, UH, SPRING BREAK AND ACL OR SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST. AND I'LL PASS IT BACK TO OUR CHAIR TO CLOSE UP. SO OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE IN AUGUST AND I'LL BE VIRTUAL. AND THAT WILL BE VIRTUAL. YES. NOVEMBER. NOVEMBER WOULD BE OUR NEXT IN-PERSON. YEAH. OH, GREAT. OKAY. WONDERFUL. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE'S A LOT GOING ON RIGHT NOW WITH CANNE. THERE'S A LOT OF WORK THAT'S BEING DONE IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE APPRECIATE YOUR TIME TODAY, APPRECIATE YOUR PARTICIPATION. AND UH, JUST A COUPLE REMINDERS, PLEASE GIVE YOUR PLEDGE FORM TO RAUL ON YOUR WAY OUT AND WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON UPCOMING COMMUNITY REGISTRATIONS. AND I WAS ABOUT TO ADJOURN RAUL, I COULD SEE, IS THERE ONE MORE THING YOU WANNA MENTION? OH, JUST, UH, YOU, WE WILL EMAIL OUT THE FORM TO ALL THE OTHER PARTNERS THAT AREN'T HERE. SO YOU'RE, WE'RE NOT JUST HITTING Y'ALL. IF WE'RE GONNA, IT'S A, IT'S A GROUP, UH, EXERCISE. OKAY. SO WITH THAT IT IS 2:00 PM ON THE DOT AND I WILL ADJOURN THIS MEETING.
