ALL RIGHT, GO AHEAD.

UH, GOOD EVENING EVERYONE.

MY NAME IS LAUREN GK, AND I AM A PO WHEN A GROUP CALLED COUNCIL FOR DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY.

UH, I USED MY KIND OF AS INFORMAL AND ADOPTION TO WHAT WE DO AT, UH, THE ACRONYM IS TC D D.

UH, WE ARE A GOVERNOR APPOINTED, GRANTED, UH, COUNCIL WHO WORKS ON A WRITING ISSUES FROM PUBLIC POLICY TO GRANTS ADMINISTRATION AND COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION OF COLLEGES OF COLLEGE STATE.

UH, WE HAVE A MISSION TO PROMOTE INDEPENDENCE AMONG TEXAN WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.

UM, I'M ON THE POLICY SCENE TEAM.

SO WE WOKE OUT WIDE RANGE OF ISSUES FROM LIKE COMMUNITY ACCESS, COMMUNITY CARE, ATTENDANCE, ACCESSIBILITY, AND THEN COMMUNITY, UM, VOTING RIGHTS, GUARDIANSHIP.

WE, WE COVER A REALLY WIDE RANGE, UM, UM, RE UH, RELEVANT ISSUES IN THE STATE.

UM, AND WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THE MAYORS COMMITTEE, UM, ON PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TIMES.

WE ARE BASED IN .

UM, WE, WE DO A LOT OF WORK IN THE CAPITAL, SO WE COME HERE, BUT THE MAYORS COMMITTEES, UH, REALLY CAUTION STATE, UM, MANY DIFFERENTS,

[00:05:01]

THEY INTEND TO HAVE A MAYOR'S C SO WE WE'RE REALLY INTERESTED IN DEVELOPING RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE MAYOR'S COMMITTEES, UM, A CAUTION STATE.

AND ONE OF THE WINS THAT WE WANNA DO THAT END ON WEDNESDAY AND JUNE 15TH.

SO THIS UPCOMING WEDNESDAY, WE HAVE WHAT WE CALL A DISABILITY, A POLICY ACADEMY, AND WE HOPE SEEING SOME TIME AND TIME TO REALLY EDUCATE THEIR COMMUNITY ON WHAT WE'RE DOING AND WORKING ON.

IN THIS UPCOMING WEDNESDAY, WE ARE DOING A RECAP, UM, DISABILITY RELATED ISSUES FROM, UH, THE RECENT LAND SESSION THAT JUST ENDED ON MEMORIAL DAY, UM, LAST WEEK.

SO WE, WE WANNA INVITE ANYONE WHO'S INTERESTED IN MONEY PCY IN THE LUNG, UH, FIVE TO COME AND JOIN ON FOR THAT.

YOU CAN UNDERSTOOD AT GDD COM, UM, BAT SLASH PUBLIC PCY.

I APPRECIATE IT.

UM, PLEASE DO LEAVE YOUR CARD WITH US AND CAN YOU CIRCULATE JACQUELINE THE INFORMATION ON THE CARD WITH US? YES.

THANK YOU.

SURE.

ALL RIGHT.

SO THE

[2. Discussion and updates on the Joint Inclusion Committee (JIC). (Jeremy Garza)]

NEXT AGENDA ITEM IS, UM, DISCUSSION ITEMS. THE FIRST DISCUSSION ITEM IS DISCUSSION AND UPDATES ON THE JOINT INCLUSION COMMITTEE.

UM, AND THAT WAS GONNA BE JEREMY GARZA, BUT HE IS NOT HERE.

UM, SO I HAVE RECENTLY AT OUR LAST MEETING, UH, I VOLUNTEERED TO BE THE PERSON THAT, LIKE THE BACKUP PERSON FOR THAT COMMITTEE.

AND I HAVE SIGNED ALL OF THE THINGS AND I'M OFFICIALLY SET UP AND PLANNED TO START ATTENDING THE MEETINGS.

UM, DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY UPDATES FOR THAT GROUP? FOR THE JOINT INCLUSION COMMISSION? I'M ON THE JOINT INCLUSION COMMISSION TOO.

THIS IS JENNIFER POWELL.

UM, I HAVE NOTHING UNFORTUNATELY.

I'M SORRY.

I DON'T HAVE ANY NEWS FROM JEREMY.

ALL RIGHT.

SOUNDS GOOD.

UM, SO ARE YOU, I THINK THERE MAY, THE, THE MAY MEETING FOR WAS CANCELED, AND SO I THINK THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY I'M GONNA HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IS IN JUNE.

ALL RIGHT.

LET'S SEE.

SORRY GUYS.

MY TECHNOLOGY IS ACTING UP.

UM, SO

[3. Presentation regarding all implemented projects and the official accomplishments of the COTA Task Force. ( Part 1 of 2 ) )]

THE PRE THE SECOND ITEM FOR DISCUSSION IS A PRESENTATION REGARDING ALL IMPLEMENTED PROJECTS AND THE OFFICIAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE C O T A TASK FORCE.

UH, DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY DISCUSSION ABOUT THAT? THAT'S THE RACETRACK, CORRECT? THAT THEY'VE I THINK SO, SO HARD TO MAKE ACCESSIBLE? YES.

YEAH.

AWESOME.

COOL.

I, I SAW, UH, THE, I THINK IT WAS THE ORIGINAL FROM, FROM LAST MONTH MM-HMM.

, AND IT HAD THE AGENDA OF WHAT THEY HAVE PLANNED AND WHAT THEY HAVE ALREADY IMPLEMENTED.

UM, AND I, I VERY MUCH HAVE A VESTED INTEREST IN CODA.

I, I LIVE BY CODA AND I GO TO CODA QUITE OFTEN.

SO, UM, THEY'VE DONE A LOT, BUT IT SAYS THAT, THAT THEIR, THEIR FUTURE PLANS ARE TO CREATE A SENSORY ROOM AND SOME OTHER THINGS LIKE THAT.

UM, AND I HAVE, I HAVE

[00:10:01]

QUESTIONS FOR THEM ABOUT THAT.

I THINK WE WERE GONNA, MAYBE THIS, UM, THIS SESSION WE WERE GONNA NAME SOME PEOPLE THAT WERE GONNA BE ON A TEAM TO GO AND TALK TO 'EM ABOUT HOW THEY'RE GONNA ACCOMPLISH AND THINGS OF THAT NATURE.

UM, YEAH, SO THE, ON THE AGENDA ITEM NUMBER FOUR

[4. Discussion and possible action on identifying liaisons and participants in the COTA Disability Access Taskforce.]

FOR DISCUSSION AND ACTIONS, IT DOES SAY, UM, THAT WE CAN POSSIBLE ACTION ON IDENTIFYING LIAISONS AND PARTICIPANTS IN THE CODA DISABILITY ACCESS TAX TASK FORCE.

UM, IS, IS ANYBODY INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING TO BE PART OF THAT TASK FORCE? YES, I AM.

SO, I'M SORRY.

I AM VISUALLY IMPAIRED.

OH, SO I CAN PLEASE SAY YOUR NAME.

I'M SO SORRY.

UH, THIS IS DON AND I AM, I, I ALSO DO BELIEVE THAT JEREMY GARZO WAS AS WELL.

UH, AT LEAST YOU EXPRESSED INTEREST LAST, LAST TIME.

OKAY.

UM, CAN YOU SAY YOUR NAME ONE MORE TIME, YOU WERE BREAKING UP? SURE.

I DON BETH.

OKAY.

THANK YOUS.

SURE.

THIS IS MICKEY.

WHAT DOES THAT ENTAIL? TELL, UM, I THINK THAT THIS IS A NEW TASK FORCE THAT WE WERE GONNA TRY TO GET TOGETHER TO, UM, TO GO TO DISCUSS THE, UM, CODA AND ALL OF THEIR ACCESSIBILITY AND THAT SORT OF THING.

ELIZABETH? YES.

UH, I'M WARREN ROSENTHAL, UM, ON THE MUSIC COMMISSION, AND I'M CURRENTLY ON THE TASK FORCE.

OH.

SO I, I WAS INVITED TO, TO SPEAK TONIGHT TO THIS TOPIC, SO THAT'S FABULOUS.

SO THERE, THERE, THERE'VE BEEN A COUPLE QUESTIONS THAT HAVE COME UP THAT I, I'D BE HAPPY TO ANSWER.

THAT WOULD BE AMAZING.

THANK YOU.

OKAY.

UH, SO THE FIRST, UM, OKAY.

SO FIRST LET'S GO BACK TO THE SENSORY ROOM.

UH, THEY WERE, I DON'T KNOW ALL OF THE DETAILS AND IT HASN'T BEEN BUILT YET, BUT THEY WERE CO COORDINATING WITH SETON TO, UH, FOLLOW THEIR BEST PRACTICES.

AND THAT IS CER CERTAINLY SOMETHING THAT, UM, THEY WOULD, THAT, THAT WE WOULD COVER AS PART OF THE TASK FORCE.

MM-HMM.

, I DON'T KNOW THE DETAILS.

I DID INVITE, UM, I DID INVITE BAILEY HANSEN, UH, THEIR DIRECTOR OF, UM, OF, UM, HOSPITALITY AND OUTREACH, UH, TO COME.

SHE WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT, UH, AT THIS LATE ON A FRIDAY, BUT, UH, SHE, AND THERE'S ABOUT 10 OTHER PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR CODA WHO WERE ON THIS TASK FORCE.

SO, UH, SHOULD I, SHOULD I EXPLAIN A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHAT THE TASK FORCE IS AND WHAT THE TASK FORCE DOES? AND, UH, WHAT, WHAT PEOPLE WHO SIGN UP CAN EXPECT? YES, PLEASE.

THANK YOU.

OKAY.

SO, UH, THIS TASK FORCE, IT CONSISTS OF, UH, SEVERAL PEOPLE IN ALL THE IMPORTANT ROLES AT CODA.

AND IN FACT, THERE'S A PRESENTATION THAT, UH, THAT WAS DISTRIBUTED AND, UH, WERE, WERE SET UP TO DO THAT.

BUT IT INCLUDES MARKETING, TICKETING, TRANSPORTATION, ENTERTAINMENT, GUEST SERVICES, AND FACILITIES.

AND, UH, THE LEADERS OF ALL OF THOSE DEPARTMENTS ARE PART OF THIS TASK FORCE.

SO ARE MEMBERS OF SEVERAL, UM, UH, ADVOCACY ORGANIZATIONS.

I MENTIONED THEM AT LAST MONTH'S MEETING.

UM, I CAN'T REMEMBER ALL, ALL OF THEM, BUT IT INCLUDES MANY, IT INCLUDES MANY ACTIVISTS.

UH, ABOUT FIVE OR SIX WERE COMING TO THE MEETINGS.

MANY OF, MANY OF THEM ARE, ARE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THEMSELVES.

IT ALSO INCLUDES, UM, THE GOVERNOR'S COMMITTEE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.

THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR IS A PARTICIPANT.

AND, UH, ALSO TRAVIS COUNTY TAX ASSESSOR, UH, VOTER REGISTRAR, BRUCE ELANT.

UH, AND THERE WERE TWO MEMBERS OF THE MUSIC COMMISSION.

RIGHT NOW, I'M, I'M THE ONLY, THE ONLY ONE WHO'S, WHO'S ON AND THERE, UH, AND THERE WAS A SPOT FOR SOMEONE FROM THIS, UH, COMMITTEE TO BE ON THE TASK FORCE AS WELL.

SO THAT'S WHO'S ON THE TASK FORCE.

WHAT TO EXPECT WOULD BE MEETINGS, PERHAPS ONCE A QUARTER WHERE THEY WILL,

[00:15:01]

UH, IN THE PAST THEY'VE BEEN DISCUSSING WHAT THE BEST PRACTICES ARE THAT CODA CAN DO FOR THEIR RACES AS WELL AS THEIR CONCERTS.

UH, WHAT I HAVE REQUESTED IS THAT THEY EXPAND THIS TASK FORCE TO INCLUDE OTHER VENUES, AND THEY WERE WILLING TO CONSIDER THAT THEY OFFERED TO CONTINUE TO HOST THIS AND TO EXPAND IT TO, UH, FOR STARTERS, JUST A FEW OTHER VENUES.

AND WE REALLY SEE THIS AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS BEST PRACTICES AND SHARE KNOWLEDGE AMONG, UH, FACILITIES ON HOW TO IMPROVE, UH, ACCESS EFFECTIVELY AND COST EFFECTIVELY.

SURE.

UM, SO WHAT I HEARD YOU SAY WAS THAT YOU HAVE A O ONE SPOT FOR SOMEBODY FROM THIS COMMITTEE? THEY WOULD, UH, I THINK THEY WOULD, THEY WOULD BE OPEN TO MORE THAN, YOU KNOW, CER CERTAINLY TWO SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM.

OKAY.

UH, THREE, THREE MIGHT BE A LOT, BUT THAT, UH, WE CAN ALWAYS ASK, WHEN DO Y'ALL MEET? WHEN DO Y'ALL HAVE THE MEETING? LISTEN TO MICKEY AGAIN.

UM, WE, YOU SAID LIKE, THERE EVERY QUARTER, BUT WHAT DAY OF THE WEEK OR WHAT TIME? THEY'RE AS SCHEDULED.

IT'S WITH THE GROUP, THIS, UH, WIDE RANGING, IT'S HARD TO, UH, TO FIND A TIME.

SO THERE, THERE HAVE ONLY BEEN, TO MY KNOWLEDGE, THREE MEETINGS IN THE PAST YEAR.

UH, WE HAVEN'T MET SINCE FEBRUARY.

UH, I SPOKE TO BAILEY HANSEN AND SHE WAS EAGER TO HAVE THE NEXT MEETING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE THEY, THEIR BIG EVENTS ARE THE RACES IN OCTOBER, SO THEY DON'T WANT TO HAVE IT VERY CLOSE TO THE, UH, THE US GRAND PRIX.

THAT'S THEIR, THEIR BIG EVENT THAT WILL BE IN OCTOBER.

SO I THINK THEY WOULD LIKE TO GET STARTED, UH, PROBABLY THIS SUMMER.

UM, I WOULD EXPECT JULY WOULD BE A GOOD TIME.

WOULD THE MEETINGS, WOULD THEY BE LIKE AN AT IN THE EVENING TIME OR WAS DURING THE DAY OR GI NO, ALL THE MEETINGS THAT I'VE BEEN TO HAVE BEEN DURING THE DAY.

THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT ARE, ESPECIALLY ON THE CODA SIDE, THE CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICA SIDE, THAT THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMITTEE IS PART OF THEIR JOB.

SO, UH, ALL OF THE MEETINGS THAT I'VE BEEN TO HAVE BEEN ON WEEKDAYS DURING BUSINESS HOURS.

OKAY.

ARE THEY ALL IN PERSON OR IS THERE OPPORTUNITY FOR VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION? I, UM, THE FIRST ONE WAS IN PERSON, THE SECOND ONE WAS ALL REMOTE, AND THE THIRD ONE WAS IN PERSON.

HOWEVER, UM, I, UH, GIVEN THE MOBILITY ISSUES OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, IT CERTAINLY MAKES SENSE TO, FOR THEM TO BE AS FLEXIBLE.

AND THEY'VE ALWAYS SHOWN THEMSELVES TO BE, UH, VERY CONSIDERATE OF, UH, THE NEED FOR INCLUSION.

SO I'M SURE THAT IF ANYBODY HAS DIFFICULTY GETTING OUT THERE, AND MIND YOU, IT'S FAR AWAY.

WE SPOKE ABOUT THIS AT THE LAST MEETING, THAT IT'S, IT'S, IT'S HARD TO GET TO IF YOU CANNOT DRIVE OR GET SOME TYPE OF A RIDE.

SO, UH, I WOULDN'T LET THAT HOLD YOU BACK.

AND WE CAN CERTAINLY REQUEST, UH, REMOTE ACCESS, A ZOOM MEETING OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, UH, FOR A, FOR A HYBRID MEETING IF NECESSARY.

IT IS STILL A PRETTY LONG DRIVE.

WE MEAN, EVEN IF YOU DO DRIVE, IT IS STILL A PRETTY LONG DRIVE DEPENDING WHERE YOU LIVE.

THAT'S, THAT'S WHERE THE LAND IS.

THEY, THEY NEEDED TO BUILD A BIG RACETRACK, THAT'S WHERE THEY'RE NOT GONNA BUILD IT DOWNTOWN.

RIGHT.

I, OKAY.

SO, UM, IS ANYONE INTERESTED IN SERVING ON THIS TASK FORCE? YES, DON.

OKAY.

UM, SO IS IT OKAY IF I MAKE A MOTION OR DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOR SOMEBODY ELSE TO DO IT? OKAY.

UM, I'LL MAKE, THIS IS KRISTEN.

OKAY, GO AHEAD.

I'LL MOVE.

YEAH, I'LL MOVE THAT.

DONNA BETS IS OUR REPRESENTATIVE ON THIS TASK FORCE.

AYE, SECOND THAT, THIS IS VICKI.

OKAY, LET'S HAVE A VOTE ON THAT MOTION.

ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE.

AYE.

AYE.

AYE.

AYE.

ANYONE AGAINST?

[00:20:03]

OKAY.

WELL THAT SOUNDS GREAT.

THANK YOU.

UM, AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING AND GIVING US THE INFORMATION.

I APPRECIATE YOU.

YES.

NOW, UH, YOU'RE WELCOME.

UH, ELIZABETH,

[3. Presentation regarding all implemented projects and the official accomplishments of the COTA Task Force ( Part 2 of 2 )]

THERE WAS AN AGENDA ITEM FOR, UH, TO GO THROUGH THE, UH, PRESENTATION THAT, UH, CODA PROVIDED WITH ALL THEIR, UH, TASKFORCE ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

AND I WAS HOPING THAT THEY COULD COME AND PRESENT IT AND ANSWER, UH, QUESTIONS.

THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO.

UH, IT IS AN AGENDA ITEM.

SHOULD WE GO THROUGH THAT? UM, THE TASK FORCE ACCOMPLISHMENTS, OR DO YOU THINK IT'S SUFFICIENT JUST, UH, FOR, FOR PEOPLE TO READ IT ON THEIR OWN? UM, NO, I THINK WE SHOULD GO THROUGH IT.

IF IT'S AN AGENDA ITEM, THEN WE SHOULD DEFINITELY GO THROUGH IT.

THAT'S VERY GOOD.

SO DID YOU WANNA DO THAT NOW? YEAH, LET, LET'S, UH, LET'S DO IT RIGHT NOW.

PERFECT.

THANK YOU.

OKAY.

SO, UH, CAN PEOPLE SEE ON THEIR SCREENS? I, I CAN OVER HERE.

CAN THOSE OF YOU REMOTE SEE THE POWERPOINT PRESENTATION THAT SAYS 2020? WE CAN, YES.

MM-HMM.

TO THEM.

OKAY.

SO YOU CAN SEE IT.

GOOD.

OKAY.

GOOD.

UH, NE NEXT, NEXT SLIDE.

SO THEY, THEY BROKE THIS DOWN DEPARTMENT BY DEPARTMENT WITHIN COTA IN TERMS OF ALL OF, UM, UH, IN TERMS OF ALL OF THE, UM, VARIOUS PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES THAT THEY HAD DONE.

SO BEGINS WITH MARKETING, AND ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS THEY DID WAS THEY DESIGNED THEIR WEBSITE FROM SCRATCH.

THEY USED, UM, COMPANY CALLED USER WAY, WHICH ALLOWS USERS TO MODIFY THE WEBSITE IN REAL TIME FOR ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS.

THEY'VE ALSO, UH, ESTABLISHED, UH, COMMUNICATION EMAILS THAT ARE, UH, SPECIFICALLY TARGETED FOR ADA GUESTS WHEN YOU BUY TICKETS.

AND THAT'LL COME UP IN, IN THE NEXT SLIDE.

LET'S NOT GO THERE YET.

BUT WHEN YOU, WHEN YOU BUY TICKETS, YOU CAN INDICATE WHETHER YOU ARE IN NEED OF ANY ADA SERVICES, AND THEY THEREFORE KNOW WHO IS GOING TO BE NEEDING ANY ACCOMMODATIONS BEFORE THE EVENTS.

THEY ARE SAYING, UH, THEY, THEY'RE SENDING OUT INFORMATION ABOUT THAT.

UH, THEY ALSO HAVE A DEDICATED PAGE ON THEIR WEBSITE FOR A D A GUIDANCE, AND I DON'T SEE THIS ON THE PRESENTATION, BUT THEY DID HAVE ONE STAFF MEMBER WHO IS DEDICATED TO ANSWERING ALL OF THE QUESTIONS AND EMAILS THAT WERE COMING ABOUT DISABILITY ACCESS.

SO THAT'S WHAT MARKETING HAS DONE.

THAT'S GREAT.

THANK YOU.

YEAH.

AND BY THE WAY, IF ANYBODY HAS ANY QUESTIONS, YOU CAN STOP ME ALONG THE WAY.

I DON'T, I DON'T MIND GETTING INTERRUPTED.

YEAH.

SO MY, SO MY INSURANCE, UM, AT THE LAST MEETING YOU SAID, UM, THAT THEY HAVE SOME, SOME PEOPLE WHO, UH, HAD ACCIDENTALLY BOUGHT ADA OF IT.

UH, HAVE THEY FIXED THAT ON THE WEBSITE TO MAKE THAT MORE, UH, VIABLE? SOME PEOPLE CAN REALIZE THAT WHAT, WHAT, WHAT THE TYPE OF THICK OF THEY'RE BUYING.

UH, THAT'S CERTAINLY THE TYPE OF TOPIC WE COULD DISCUSS AT THE TASKFORCE MEETING.

I, I COULDN'T HEAR WHO WAS, UH, WHO WAS, I DIDN'T, WASN'T WHO, WHO, DONNA, SORRY ABOUT.

OKAY.

PERFECT.

YES.

SO, SO DONNA, WHY DON'T, UM, UH, VERY, VERY SOON, WHY DON'T YOU AND I MAKE A TIME TO GET TOGETHER AND WE CAN COME UP WITH ALL OF THE, UH, ALL OF THE ITEMS THAT, THAT YOU REPRESENTING THIS COMMITTEE AND ME REPRESENTING THE MUSIC COMMISSION WOULD LIKE TO BRING TO THE ATTENTION OF, UH, OF, OF CODA TO DISCUSS THAT.

OKAY.

THAT SOUNDS GREAT.

THANK YOU.

GOOD.

YES, THIS IS, THIS IS MICKEY.

I DO HAVE A QUESTION ON THE PREVIOUS SLIDE.

YOU HAVE, YOU HAD SOME WORDS AT THE ADA SECTION NOW? YES.

NOW I WAS AT, UM, A BERNIE STANDARDS RALLY AT KOTA, AND THAT WAS THE ADA SECTION.

AND THAT WAS REAL GOOD.

BUT I'M JUST, I'M JUST CURIOUS ON HOWS THE AD, HOW'S THE ADA TESTING GONNA WORK? SAY LIKE WHAT YOU HAVE THE, THE, UM, THE CHUG OR THE COOKOFF THERE, HOW'S THE ADA STATION GONNA GONNA WORK IF AT DIFFERENT EVENTS?

[00:25:03]

UH, MICKEY, THIS IS DONNAS AGAIN.

I, I THINK THAT THAT'S WHY I'M GONNA BE PART OF THAT TASK FORCE BECAUSE RIGHT NOW THEY'RE FOCUSED, I BELIEVE, UM, IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN, ON MOSTLY JUST THE MUSIC AND THE, UM, RACIST.

AND SO THEY'RE HOPING TO EXPAND THAT TO, THEY'RE TRYING TO EXPAND THAT TO ALL THE OTHER THINGS THAT THEY HAVE THERE.

OKAY.

THANK YOU.

OKAY.

UH, SO TICKETING, UH, SO THEY, ONE OF THE THINGS THEY DID IS THEY HAD, UH, ADA TICKET OPTION FOR THE GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS.

THESE WERE THE CHEAPER TICKETS.

AND PERSONALLY, I FIND IT VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ARE NOT FORCED INTO HIGHER PRICED OPTIONS IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE EVENTS.

SO WHAT THEY DID IS THEY SET ASIDE, UH, SEATS FOR THE RACE AS WELL, UH, AS THE CONCERT THAT WERE DEDICATED TO PEOPLE WITH ADA NEEDS.

AND, UH, THESE WERE, UM, UH, UH, THEY, THEY, UH, SO THEY HAD THAT AS PART OF GENERAL ADMISSION.

UH, AND IT, THEY ALSO WITHHELD ACCESSIBLE SEATS FOR GUESTS.

UM, THAT, UH, AND E EVEN SETTING SOME ASIDE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE BUYING TICKETS ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT IF NEEDED.

UH, N NEXT SLIDE.

TRANSPORTATION.

OKAY.

SO, UM, THEY HAVE DEDICATED ADA ONLY PARKING LOTS AND PARKING SPACES.

UH, AGAIN, LIKE I WAS SAYING, UM, I AM, IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO ME THAT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, PEOPLE WITH MO MOBILITY ISSUES DO NOT HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR CLOSE BY PARKING IF THEY HAVE MOBILITY ISSUES.

SO THAT'S CERTAINLY A TOPIC THAT, THAT WE CAN DISCUSS.

AS PART OF MY WORK FOR THE, UH, ON THE TASK FORCE, I DID GO TO A CONCERT AT THE GERMANIA AMPHITHEATER, AND I DID GO TO RACE DAY TO SEE WHAT THE PARKING SITUATION WAS LIKE.

THEY HAVE LOTS OF SHUTTLES THAT, UM, WILL PICK PEOPLE UP AND TAKE THEM, UH, FROM THE PARKING LOTS TO THE, UH, TO THE GATE.

AND THEN INSIDE THE GATE THEY HAVE GOLF CARTS THAT WILL TAKE PEOPLE DIRECTLY TO THEIR SEATS IF NEEDED.

UH, THEY'RE, UH, THEY ALSO HAVE, UM, OFFSITE PARKING AS WELL.

AND I DON'T KNOW THE DETAILS OF THIS.

I'D LIKE TO FI FIND OUT MORE.

I, I REQUESTED SOME INFORMATION.

WE'LL MAKE SURE THAT WE CAN GET THIS.

BUT, UH, THEY HAVE OFFSITE PARKING FACILITIES AND I, I'M NOT QUITE SURE WHERE THEY ARE, BUT THEY MIGHT BE DOWNTOWN OR OTHER, OTHER, OTHER PLACES WHERE THEY PROVIDE, UH, ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORTATION TO THE VENUE.

UH, THEY HAVE INDICATED THEIR FUTURE PROJECTS ARE FURTHER INCREASING ACCESSIBLE VEHICLES FOR OFFSITE PARKING LOCATIONS, IMPROVING ACCESSIBILITY OF ONSITE ASSETS AND RESEARCHING OTHER VENUES TO FURTHER IMPROVE OPERATIONS.

SO A GOOD WAY OF RESEARCHING THE OTHER VENUES IS BY EXPANDING THIS TASK FORCE TO INCLUDE SOME OTHER VENUES.

SO THAT'S, THAT'S ONE OF THE GOALS THAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE FROM, FROM THIS TASK FORCE.

UH, NEXT SLIDE.

UM, OKAY.

FOR ENTERTAINMENT, THEY HAVE, THEY HAVE PURCHASED TWO TRANSPORT VEHICLES WITH ADA LIFTS.

THEY HAVE AN ENTIRE SYSTEM OF ACCESSIBLE GO GOLF CARTS.

AND THE SUPER STAGE, WHICH IS AT THE RACE WHEN, WHEN THE RA WHEN THE CARS ARE DONE RACING FOR THE DAY, THEN THEY'LL USUALLY BRING ON A BIG ARTIST.

UH, THIS PAST YEAR IT WAS GREEN DAY ONE, AND I THINK IT WAS ED SHEERAN.

THE NEXT, THIS YEAR I BELIEVE IT'S GOING TO BE QUEEN WITH ADAM LAMBERT PERFORMING.

AND, UM, AND THIS IS JUST ABOUT THE BIGGEST CONCERT I'VE EVER SEEN.

THERE MAY BE, UH, I DON'T KNOW THE, THE NUMBERS, BUT PRETTY MUCH EVERYBODY WHO GOES TO THE RACE STICKS AROUND FOR THE CONCERT AND THEY HAVE SET ASIDE

[00:30:01]

SPECIAL PLATFORMS SO ADA PEOPLE CAN SEE THE EVENT.

UH, AND THEY ALSO, UH, PLACE ADA COMPLIANT RESTROOMS, UH, RIGHT ADJACENT TO THE PLATFORMS. NEXT, NEXT SLIDE.

SO FOR, UH, ALL EVENTS, THEY HAVE GUEST SERVICES BOOTHS ADJACENT TO THE ENTRANCE GATES, AND THEY'VE IMPROVED THE SIGNAGE TO MAKE THE SIGNS MORE VISIBLE AND MORE ACCESSIBLE.

I'VE SEEN THIS MYSELF.

UM, THEY, UH, NOT ONLY HAVE BOOTHS, BUT I, I WENT TO A CONCERT AT THE GERMANIA AMPHITHEATER AND AS SOON AS PEOPLE WALKED IN THE GATE, UH, THEY, UH, WERE ABLE TO GET RIGHT ONTO GOLF CARTS THAT TOOK THEM DIRECTLY TO THEIR SEATS.

UM, IN TERMS OF COMMUNICATION, THEY HAVE, UH, PRE-EVENT INFORMATION DELIVERED VIA EMAIL, PHONE, AND TEXT MESSAGE, UH, SPECI, UH, AN ADA SPECIFIC INFORMATION.

AND, UH, THEY HAVE A DEDICATED DIRECT TEXT MESSAGE ASSISTANCE AND CALL LINE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.

UH, I THINK THEY, THEY COVERED THESE ALREADY.

AND, UM, AND THEY'VE ALSO, IN TERMS OF THEIR TRAINING FOR ALL OF THEIR STAFF, THEY HAVE, UH, COMPANY-WIDE SENSORY TRAINING, UH, FOR ALL, UH, FOR ALL EMPLOYEES.

AND, UM, NEXT SLIDE.

SO FOR ALL EVENTS, THEY HAVE A GOLF CART TEAM.

UH, THEY HAVE, UH, SIGNAGE WITH HIGH CONTRAST, UH, LARGE FONT TO BETTER, I IDENTIFY WAYFINDING AROUND PROPERTY.

UM, THEY, UH, AND THEY'RE ALSO PLANNING, UH, FUTURE PROJECTS OF WHEELCHAIR RENTALS, THE SENSORY ROOM THAT WAS MENTIONED, AND TO CONTINUE TO IMPROVE PRE-EVENT COMMUNICATION, INCLUDING, UH, ACCESSIBLE ROUTES THROUGHOUT THE VENUE.

AND THAT IS, UH, THAT'S THEIR, THAT'S CODA'S PRESENTATION ON, ON WHAT THEY'VE DONE.

WHAT I HOPE TO SEE IS SIX MONTHS FROM NOW, A YEAR FROM NOW, A PRESENTATION COMPARABLE TO THIS FROM ALL OF THE VENUES THAT WE HAVE ADDED TO THIS TASK FORCE.

THAT SOUNDS GREAT.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THAT WITH US.

UM, DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS? NO, I JUST APPRECIATE ALL THE WORK YOU'RE DOING AND, UM, EXCITED THAT WE HAVE SOMEONE A PART OF IT.

SO THANK YOU, .

I'M, I'M HAPPY TO BE, UH, TO HAVE A PARTNER FROM THIS, UH, COMMITTEE.

SO DONNA, YOU AND I WILL GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER REAL WELL.

YES, I'M, I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT.

I'M LOOKING REALLY A LOT FORWARD TO THAT AS WELL.

OKAY.

UM, SO RELATED TO DISCUSSION RELATED TO THIS.

ONE IS THE NEXT ITEM

[5. Discussion and possible action to establish a working group to review music venues and entertainment venues in Austin for improvements for people with disabilities.]

ON THE AGENDA IS DISCUSSION IMPOSSIBLE ACTION TO ESTABLISH WORKING GROUP TO, UH, REVIEW MUSIC VENUES AND ENTERTAINMENT VENUES IN AUSTIN FOR IMPROVEMENTS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.

UM, DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANYTHING THEY WANNA ADD? I KNOW THAT THIS WAS KIND OF IMPORTANT TO JEREMY.

UM, SO I'M WONDERING IF WE SHOULDN'T, UM, INCLUDE THIS ON THE NEXT MONTH'S, UH, MEETING.

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANYTHING TO ADD ABOUT THIS DISCUSSION ITEM? UH, NO.

IT'S JUST .

I, I AGREE WITH YOU.

I THINK THAT WE SHOULD TAKE, PUT IT ON NEXT MONTHS CAUSE I KNOW THAT JEREMY REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO BE A PART OF THAT.

YEAH.

OKAY, GREAT.

SO, UM, I'M GONNA MAKE A MOTION THAT WE GO AHEAD AND TABLE THIS ITEM AND PUT IT ON THE AGENDA FOR NEXT MONTH'S MEETING.

IS ANYBODY GONNA SECOND IT? SECOND? YES.

.

OKAY, GREAT.

UM, SO ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE.

AYE.

AYE.

AYE.

IS ANYONE OPPOSED? NO.

OKAY, GREAT.

WE WILL, UM, PICK THIS UP AGAIN AT NEXT MONTH'S MEETING.

[00:35:05]

UM, LET'S SEE.

OKAY, SO THE NEXT

[FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS]

ITEM IS ANY FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANYTHING THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK ABOUT AT NEXT MONTH'S MEETING? THIS IS LIRA RAMIREZ.

I WANTED TO FOLLOW UP ON THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING, UM, A CITY REPRESENTATIVES SPEAK ABOUT, UM, I GUESS PEDESTRIAN ACCESSIBILITY AROUND AUSTIN, UM, SIDEWALKS AND ALL THE SUCH.

OKAY.

SO, UM, WOULD YOU, DO WE HAVE TO MAKE A MOTION, RIGHT? OH, OKAY.

SO JUST KIDDING.

UM, SO PUBLIC WORKS IS GONNA COME, THEY COULD NOT COME, UH, TODAY, BUT I BELIEVE THEY WILL BE HERE AT OUR NEXT MEETING.

IS THAT RIGHT? SOUNDS GREAT.

THANK YOU.

OKAY.

ALL RIGHT.

UM, AND THEN I HAD SOMETHING THAT I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT.

SO I AM A PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION USER AND I FEEL LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ARE ALSO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION USERS.

AND SO I HAVE, IT'S BEEN INCREASINGLY UNSAFE FOR ME.

AND SO I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A MOTION FOR THE NEXT AG UH, FOR THE NEXT MONTH'S MEETING TO HAVE AN AGENDA ITEM TO KIND OF START THE DISCUSSION ABOUT SAFETY AND ACCESS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES ON OUR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM.

SECOND, I'LL SEC.

YEAH.

YES.

OKAY, GREAT.

UM, ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE.

AYE.

AYE.

ANYONE OPPOSED? OKAY, GREAT.

WE WILL INCLUDE THAT ON NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA.

UH, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANYTHING ELSE THEY WANNA DISCUSS NEXT MONTH? NO.

OKAY.

UM, SO THAT, UM, THOSE ARE ALL THE THINGS ON THE AGENDA ITEM, I MEAN ON THE AGENDA.

THOSE ARE ALL THE ITEMS ON THE AGENDA.

SO, UM, WOULD SOMEONE LIKE TO MAKE A MOTION THAT WE ADJOURN? THIS IS KRISTA AND I MOVE THAT WE ADJOURN THIS MEETING.

I'LL SECOND THAT.

THIS IS J POWELL.

OKAY, GREAT.

UM, ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE.

AYE.

AYE.

AYE.

ANYONE OPPOSED? OKAY, GREAT.

LET'S ADJOURN AND WE WILL SEE EVERYBODY NEXT MONTH.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR, UM, TIME TONIGHT.

THANK YOU.

THANK YOU.

BYE-BYE.

BYE.

GOOD JOB.

I PULLED OUTTA A TRUCK STOP IN BIRMINGHAM, HOUSTON, 700 MILES AWAY.
