KING WHO'S RETIRED FROM THE STATE, WAS ACTIVE IN THE AUSTIN NEIGHBORHOODS COUNCIL AND OTHER COMMUNITY CAUSES.
KING WAS KNOWN FOR HIS KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY AS WELL AS HIS ABILITY TO QUICKLY IMMERSE HIMSELF IN A NUMBER OF POLICY ISSUES.
BEFORE COUNCIL, HE BRIEFLY SERVED AS PRESIDENT OF A NC BEFORE STEPPING DOWN TO SERVE ON THE ZONING AND PLANNING COMMISSION AS AN APPOINTEE OF COUNCIL MEMBER ANN KITCHEN, A C'S MARY INGLES HAD HER FRIENDSHIP WITH KING EXTENDED BEYOND CITY HALL AND A NC MEETINGS AS SHE WOULD OFTEN JOIN KING AND HIS HUSBAND LUIS GUERRERA FOR DINNER AND DRINKS AND LOTS OF LAUGHS.
HE SAID DAVID'S AMBULANCE AND HIS PASSION FOR ISSUES WAS UNLIMITED AND IT WAS UNSTOPPABLE.

THEY'RE TERRACE AND VEGETATE STEEP SLOPES PROVIDING LARGE PARKING LOT ISLANDS THREE THAT ARE APPROXIMATELY 17 FEET WIDE FOR IMPROVED TREE GROWTH AND PROVIDE ENHANCED TREE MITIGATION.
THERE'S ALSO FOUR ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION COMMISSION CONDITIONS I WANT TO ADD IN.
ONE IS PLANT NATIVE PLANTS AND TREES THAT ARE CONSISTENT WITH BLACKLAND PRAIRIE SPECIES THROUGHOUT THE PROPERTY, NOT JUST ON TERRACES AND SLOPES.
TWO, RETAIN AS MANY EXISTING NATIVE SPECIES TREES AS POSSIBLE.

UH, I'VE BEEN WORKING WITH COMMISSIONER PKI ON A RESOLUTION TO ALLOW SOME COMMERCIAL USES IN RESIDENTIAL ZONING.
WE'D LIKE TO BE ABLE TO BRING THAT TO THE COMMITTEE.
AND THEN IRONICALLY, WE'VE ALSO BEEN WORKING ON A RESOLUTION TO RESTRICT SOME COMMERCIAL USES ON IMAGINE AUSTIN CORRIDORS.
