OUR PURPOSE OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION IS TO ADVISE THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO SERVE THE POOR AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE WITH EMPHASIS ON FEDERALLY FUNDED PROGRAMS. UM, LET'S GET STARTED.

IT SAYS, BUDGET RECOMMENDATION FY 20 25 26 TO THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL.

AND I WILL BE READING IT.

SO THIS BUDGET RECOMMENDATION IS DUE AT THE END OF MARCH.

SO THIS IS THE ONLY MEETING THAT WE HAVE, UH, IN ORDER TO SUBMIT THIS.

SO IT'S IN YOUR PACKET.

UM, I WILL READ IT AND THEN, UH, WE'LL TAKE ANY QUESTIONS AND ANY SUGGESTIONS, AND THEN WE'LL TAKE A VOTE.

IT SAYS, UH, THE AUSTIN CITY, THE AUSTIN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION RECEIVED UNPRECEDENTED TESTIMONY FROM THE COMMUNITY SUPPORTING THE EQUITY OVERLAY.

AN EQUITY OVERLAY WOULD ALLOW FOR VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES TO HAVE A VOICE IN THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS IN ORDER TO DECREASE THE PRESSURES FROM GENTRIFICATION AND DISPLACEMENT.

OUR COMMISSION HAS BEEN UPDATED ON THE PROGRESS OF THE ONGOING EQUITY OVERLAY FEASIBILITY STUDY, AND WE ANTICIPATE A REPORT THAT INCLUDES RECOMMENDATIONS THAT THE AUSTIN CITY COUNCIL CAN MOVE TO IMPLEMENT.

THEREFORE, THE AUSTIN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION RECOMMENDS THAT THE AUSTIN CITY COUNCIL PLAN FOR THE BUDGET IMPLICATIONS THAT WILL COME FROM IMPLEMENTING THE RECOMMENDATIONS THAT WILL COME FROM THIS, FROM THE STUDY, WE RECOMMEND THAT THE AUSTIN CITY COUNCIL PROACTIVELY ALLOCATE APPROPRIATE FUNDING TO PROPERLY, PROPERLY PLAN FOR THE ANTICIPATED RECOMMENDATIONS.

SO OUR RECOMMENDATION IS TO PROVIDE APPROPRIATE FUNDING TO IMPLEMENT THE RECOMMENDATION FROM THE EQUITY OVERLAY OVERLAY FEASIBILITY STUDY.

SO LAST YEAR WE DID A, UH, RECOMMENDATION FOR INCREASING RENTAL ASSISTANCE.

THIS YEAR, I FELT LIKE THIS WAS THE TOPIC THAT WE HEARD A LOT FROM THE COMMUNITY.

SO THIS WAS BASED ON THAT.

AND THIS IS THE PROGRAMMATIC FINANCIAL REPORT THAT I DO MONTHLY.

THE COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT FUNDS THE DELIVERY OF SERVICES TO LOW INCOME TEXAS RESIDENTS IN ALL 254 COUNTIES FOR THE CITY OF AUSTIN.

THE GRANT PROVIDES FUNDING FOR THE DELIVERY OF BASIC NEEDS CASE MANAGEMENT, PREVENTIVE HEALTH, UNEMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SERVICES THROUGH THE CITY'S SEVEN NEIGHBORHOOD CENTERS.

OUR MISSION IS, UH, THE NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES UNIT IMPROVES THE LIVES AND HEALTH OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCING POVERTY BY PROVIDING PUBLIC HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES, AND CONNECTING RESIDENTS OF AUSTIN AND TRAVIS COUNTY TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES.

WE DO THAT THROUGH A VARIETY OF NEEDS, UH, THROUGH A VARIETY OF MEANS, BASIC NEEDS SERVICES, PREVENTIVE HEALTH, WHICH INCLUDES OUR PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING SERVICES, UH, CASE MANAGEMENT, UH, HELPING FOLKS GET BACK INTO THE WORLD OF WORK AND TRANSITION OUT OF POVERTY.

AND THAT INCLUDES EMPLOYMENT SUPPORTS.

AT THE BOTTOM OF PAGE ONE, YOU WILL SEE AN UPDATE ON OUR 2024 CONTRACT BUDGET.

WE GOT AN EXTENSION THROUGH MARCH 31ST FOR THAT BUDGET, AND WE ARE ALMOST FULLY EXPENDED.

UH, WE HAVE ABOUT 91% OF THOSE FUNDS EXPENDED, AND WE WILL EXPEND ALL OF THE REST OF THAT, UH, BEFORE THE END OF THIS MONTH.

AND I'LL MENTION AGAIN, JUST A REMINDER, OUR CSPG GRANT COVERS PERSONNEL COSTS TO BE ABLE TO DELIVER THESE SERVICES.

AND, UH, AS YOU REMEMBER, LAST MONTH, I REPORTED ON JANUARY THROUGH DECEMBER OF LAST YEAR, AND WE ACTUALLY ACHIEVED 43.

WE GOT RIGHT TO THE, UH, THE GOAL NUMBER.

SO THAT WAS GOOD NEWS FOR OUR CLIENTS WHO, UH, WERE ABLE TO FIND EMPLOYMENT AND MAINTAIN IT FOR A PERIOD OF 90 DAYS, UH, AT A LIVING WAGE.

UH, IF YOU LOOK AT, UH, THE TOP FIVE NEEDS, THEY'VE CHANGED FOR THIS YEAR, I, UH, REPORTED ON THE COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESSMENT LAST SUMMER.

AND, UH, WALER AND NICHOLS CAME AS WELL AND PRESENTED ON THAT.

UM, CNA, THEY DID.

UH, THE TOP FIVE NEEDS, UH, FROM ONE TO FIVE, UH, PER THAT CNA WAS, UH, HOUSING IS THE TOP NEED THAT WAS IDENTIFIED BY COMMUNITY MEMBERS, UH, STAKEHOLDERS, INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL, UM, UH, PARTNERS.

I THINK SOME OF YOU WERE INTERVIEWED FOR THAT AS WELL.

UH, NUMBER TWO IS BASIC NEEDS, WHICH INCLUDES FOOD AND OTHER BASIC NEEDS.

NUMBER THREE, EMPLOYMENT FOUR WAS HEALTH AND FIVE INCOME.

AND OUR, OUR, AT OUR NSU, THE NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICES UNIT, WE FOCUS ON TRYING TO DO SOMETHING IN EACH ONE OF THESE DOMAINS, UM, SO THAT WE CAN ADDRESS ALL FIVE.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE OUTCOMES, I LIKE TO FOCUS ON, UH, FOUR E THE HOUSEHOLDS WHO AVOIDED EVICTION.

UH, WE'VE HAD 38, UH, HOUSEHOLD TO AVOID EVICTIONS SO FAR THIS, UH, CALENDAR YEAR.

AND THAT'S THROUGH OUR, UH, RENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

WE DON'T GET A LOT OF FUNDS FOR THAT, BUT $775,000 A YEAR.

UM, BUT IT DOES GO A LONG WAY TO HELP SOME HOUSEHOLDS, UH, MAINTAIN THEIR HOUSING.

UH, YOU GO DOWN TO OUR FOOD DISTRIBUTION AGAIN, ADDRESSING, UH, FOOD INSECURITY.

UH, THE PEOPLE SERVED SO FAR THIS YEAR AS 8,108.

THAT'S DONE THROUGH A FOOD PANTRY, MASS FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS, LIKE FRESH FOOD FOR FAMILIES, THE WHOLE PROGRAM FOR THE ELDERLY, UH, MARKET, WHICH IS A FOOD RECOVERY PROGRAM.

AND, UH, SHOP FOR, WHICH IS ANOTHER PROGRAM THROUGH, UM, THE CENTRAL TEXAS FOOD BANK.

A YEAR AGO, YOU SEE, WE HAD, UH, ALMOST TWICE THAT I THINK THAT HAS TO DO WITH SOME OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTERS BEING CLOSED.

SO WE'RE STILL ABLE TO DO THE SMALLER, LIKE A FOOD PANTRY AND THE, UH, MARKETS, BUT WE HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO DO THE LARGER DISTRIBUTIONS AT THOSE CENTERS THIS PAST WINTER.

UM, AND LAST SPRING AS WELL, UH, WHEN THE FIRST CENTERS CLOSED, I THINK, UH, LAST SUMMER FALL FOR, UH, MAJOR HVAC RENOVATIONS.

WE ASSISTED 160 PEOPLE AND 74 HOUSEHOLDS AVOID EVICTION USING THESE FUNDS.

THERE'S A DISCREPANCY WITH THE NUMBER ON THE PREVIOUS PAGE 'CAUSE THAT SAYS JANUARY.

SOME DATA COMES IN, UH, TWO MONTHS LATE FOR US.

UH, AND THAT WAS ABOUT $218,382 IN, UH, RENT ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS PROCESS THROUGH OUR, UM, RENTING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.

UH, THE OTHERS, I'LL FOCUS ON NUMBER FIVE, THE NSC PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING.

YOU KNOW, WE'RE SEEING A LOT OF CLIENTS AT OUR HUBS AND COMMUNITY EVENTS.

UM, IT MENTIONS THERE THAT WE GO TO THE CONSULATE OF MEXICO, GU GARCIA REC CENTER, THE COLIN G**O SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTER, THE BAPTIST COMMUNITY CENTER MISSION, AS WELL AS HAVING HUBS AT OUR ACTUAL, UH, NEIGHBORHOOD CENTERS AS WELL.

UH, USUALLY DURING OUR FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS SO WE CAN CAPTURE MORE PEOPLE.

THEY PROVIDE FREE BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS, BLOOD SUGAR, CHOLESTEROL SCREENINGS, AND, UH, HELPING PEOPLE, UH, FIND A MEDICAL HOME.

IF THEY DON'T HAVE ONE, ANY INSURANCE QUESTIONS, UH, WE CAN REFER TO OTHER AGENCIES THAT PROVIDE THAT ASSISTANCE IF WE CAN'T AND IF WE CAN PROVIDE IT THAN WE DO.

UH, THE CDI JUST WANNA NOTE THAT THE CDC HAS CREATED A WORK GROUP TO CREATE A PROCESS FOR FUTURE CDC ELECTIONS.

NORTH AUSTIN, UH, NIKA, ARNOLD MONTOPOLIS, JOSE ELIAS, AND ROSA ZA BLACKLAND QUA BREWSTER.

UH, THESE FOLKS HAVE BEEN, THEIR NAMES HAVE BEEN SENT TO THE CITY CLERK'S OFFICE, AND THEY'RE IN THE PROCESS OF, UH, TRAINING ORIENTATION AND HAVING BEEN FILLED OUT ALL THE PAPERWORK BEFORE THEY CAN, UH, ATTEND THE MEETINGS.

SO I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY THE AMOUNT, BUT IT'S PRETTY LOW INCOME.

WHEN THOSE FOLKS COME AND, UH, ARE ASSESSED AND EXPRESS INTEREST IN BEING IN THIS PROGRAM.

THEY'RE, UH, ENROLLED IN THE SELFSUFFICIENCY CASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM.

AND THEY HAVE A SOCIAL WORKER WHO WILL WORK WITH THEM IN A VARIETY OF WAYS.

UH, THEY'LL DO LIKE A NEEDS ASSESSMENT.

THEY CAN DO SOME RESUME BUILDING INTERVIEW SKILLS, UH, JOB SEARCH, UH, REFERRALS TO TRAINING PROGRAMS, WHATEVER THOSE MAY BE.

UM, THE FOOD BANK HAS A CULINARY, UH, CERTIFICATE PROGRAM AS WELL THAT WE'RE TRYING TO GET FOLKS INTO.

UH, THEY MEET WITH THAT SOCIAL WORKER AS NEEDED, MAYBE ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH MORE IF NEEDED.

AND THEN THEY'RE BASICALLY GOING THROUGH THIS,

AND EVENTUALLY WHEN THEY DO HAVE EMPLOYMENT, UM, AND THEY MAINTAIN THAT EMPLOYMENT FOR UP TO THREE MONTHS, THEY CAN BE CONSIDERED, ACCORDING TO THE STATE, A TRANSITION.

SO WE KIND OF STICK WITH THE PERSON AND JUST WORK WITH THEM, UH, THROUGH THAT PERIOD OF TIME IF THEY NEED ASSISTANCE AFTER THAT, WE CAN DEFINITELY KEEP THE CASE OPEN.

A LOT OF FOLKS CHOOSE TO JUST SORT OF SAIL ON THEIR OWN AND, UH, THEY'RE EMPOWERED TO, YOU KNOW, COME BACK TO US IF THEY NEED TO.

BUT THAT'S WHAT THAT PROGRAM ENTAILS FROM, SOME FOLKS COME IN WITH UNDEREMPLOYED, UM, SO THEY WANT TO GET BETTER EMPLOYMENT.

UH, SOME COME UNDEREMPLOYED AND WITH NOT VERY GOOD BENEFITS.

SO THE GOAL IS TO FIND BETTER BENEFITS EITHER IN THE SAME JOB OR FIND OTHER EMPLOYMENT THAT HAS BETTER BENEFITS AND PAY.

SO THAT'S SORT OF THE THREE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FOLKS THAT WE GET.

SO EVERY YEAR IT'S A LITTLE OVER A MILLION DOLLARS, GIVE OR TAKE A FEW THOUSAND.

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL PROPERTIES.

JUST IN CASE YOU'RE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THESE THREE PROJECTS, THESE THREE PROJECTS WERE THE FIRST THREE PROJECTS BUILT PUBLIC HOUSING PROJECTS BUILT ONTO THE US HOUSING ACT OF 1937.

UM, AND THERE ARE THREE OF THEM BECAUSE FORTUNATELY IT WAS A TIME OF SEGREGATION.

SO CHALMERS COURTS WAS, WAS BUILT FOR THE WHITE FAMILIES.

ROSEWOOD COURTS WAS BUILT FOR THE AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILIES.

SANTA RITA COURT WAS BUILT FOR THE LATINO UH, FAMILIES.

AND SO THANK GOODNESS WE'RE PAST THOSE TIMES.

BUT THESE PROPERTIES ARE NOW 80, MORE THAN 80 YEARS OLD, COMING UP ON 90 YEARS OLD.

AND IT'S, WE KNOW THAT IT WAS TIME TO, TO DO SOME RENOVATIONS.

SO I WILL START WITH, WITH ROSEWOOD COURTS WHEN WE WERE LAST HERE.

THERE WE GO.

WHEN WE WERE LAST HERE, WE WERE JUST ABOUT TO CLOSE ON THE FINANCIAL TRANSACTION.

IT WAS GOING TO REDEVELOP ROSEWOOD COURTS.

SO IN THESE BUILDINGS THEMSELVES, WE HAD 124 UNITS AT ROSEWOOD BEFORE WE BEGAN THE REDEVELOPMENT IN JUST THESE BUILDINGS.

HERE WE HAVE 164 UNITS, FOUR STORIES WITH ELEVATORS, UM, IN, IN THREE SEPARATE BUILDINGS.

ALL THE MONITOR AMENITIES, SOLAR ON THE ROOF, UM, REALLY A, A DRAMATIC IMPROVEMENT TO QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS WHO CALLED, UH, ROSEWOOD COURTS HOME.

THE SECOND OH, AND I WILL POINT OUT, YOU GOT A LITTLE PICTURE OF THE WORK GOING ON THERE, IF YOU DRIVE BY TODAY, YOU'LL SEE IT LOOKS DIFFERENT ALREADY.

THIS WAS TAKEN A FEW WEEKS AGO AND THEY'RE REALLY MAKING PROGRESS ON GETTING THE IMPROVEMENTS TAKEN CARE OF.

THIS NEXT, UH, SECTION IS THE PRESERVATION RESTORATION SECTION.

THERE IS A DEEP SIGNIFICANT HISTORY TO ROSEWOOD COURT AND PART OF THAT HISTORY IS THE PUBLIC HOUSING THAT EXISTED THERE.

THESE BUILDINGS THAT YOU SEE HERE, THE, THE PROPERTY WAS BUILT IN TWO PHASES.

THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL 1939 BUILDINGS.

UM, WE DID A MANY YEAR PROJECT OF GATHERING COMMUNITY INPUT TO DETERMINE WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO HONOR AND COMMEMORATE THE HISTORY OF THESE PROPERTIES.

AND PART OF THAT AT ROSEWOOD COURTS WAS THE PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION OF THESE BUILDINGS.

SO WE TOOK OFF THE PITCHED ROOFS, WE REMOVED ALL THE MODERN, MODERN, UH, WINDOWS, DOORS, UM, AND WE ARE RESTORING THEM TO THE 1939 CONDITION UNDER THE, UH, ADVICE OF HISTORIC ARCHITECT.

WHAT YOU SEE HERE, IT'S HARD TO SEE ON THE SCREEN HERE, BUT WE ARE GETTING THE LAST LITTLE BITS OF LEAD BASED PAINT THAT HAD BEEN ENCAPSULATED SAFELY FOR MANY YEARS.

BUT NOW THAT WE'RE OPENING IT UP, WE'RE GETTING ALL THOSE LAST BITS OF LEAD BASED PAINT OUT OF THE PROPERTY.

UM, AND IN SIX MONTHS WE WILL BE ABLE TO, UH, OPEN THESE PROPERTIES UP FOR FOLKS TO MOVE INTO.

THE INSIDES ARE COMPLETELY SCOOPED OUT.

WHEN YOU WALK IN, THEY'LL LOOK EXACTLY LIKE ANY OTHER UNIT OF THE PROPERTY, BUT FROM THE OUTSIDE, IF LBJ WALKED BY, IT WOULD LOOK LIKE WHAT HE SAW IN 1939.

WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE PRESERVATION EFFORTS HERE.

AND SO THE CIRCLE HERE THAT YOU SEE ON THE EAST SIDE ALONG PAQUITO STREET ACROSS PAQUITO, IS MOSTLY SINGLE FAMILY HOMES.

IT'S A VERY SIGNIFICANT ELEVATION DROP FROM THE REST OF THE PROPERTY.

SO IT SEEMS LIKE A GOOD PLACE TO PUT HOME OWNERSHIP

THE HISTORY OF PUBLIC ROSEWOOD COURTS STARTED WELL BEFORE THAT.

UM, WE, IN, IN DOING THE RESEARCH FOR THIS PROJECT, WE WORKED WITH DONNA CARTER AND HISTORIC ARCHITECT HERE IN TOWN.

AND WE HAVE FOUND THAT THIS PROPERTY WAS ONE OF, WITH THE SITE OF ONE OF THE ORIGINAL EMANCIPATION PARKS IN EAST AUSTIN.

AND WE WANT TO RECOGNIZE THAT TO COMMEMORATE THAT THE, THE PROPERTY WAS ACTUALLY OWNED BY A GROUP OF AFRICAN AMERICAN CITIZENS OF AUSTIN AS A GROUP.

AND IT WAS TAKEN FOR THE PUBLIC HOUSING VIA EMINENT DOMAIN.

SO THIS PROJECT REALLY DOES TELL THE STORY OF THE HISTORY OF AUSTIN.

AND SO WE'RE, WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO HELP TELL THAT STORY.

WE GOT A HERITAGE PRESERVATION GRANT THROUGH THE CITY TO HELP PROGRAM WHAT WE'RE CALLING A WELCOME CENTER.

WE'RE GONNA COME UP WITH A BETTER NAME FOR NOW.

IT'S CALLED A WELCOME CENTER.

AND THERE'S A, UM, THREE QUARTER OF AN ACRE PARK IN FRONT ATIVE PARK.

AND THOSE TWO PLACES ARE GONNA BE A PLACE TO INVITE THE PUBLIC IN TO TELL THE STORY.

WE'RE WORKING WITH A NONPROFIT HERE FROM AUSTIN CALLED E FOUR YOUTH.

THEY WORK WITH KIDS.

SOME OF YOU'RE NODDING YOUR HEADS.

THEY WORK WITH KIDS TO TEACH TECHNICAL SKILLS TO YOUTH FROM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ALL THE WAY UP THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL.

THEY GIVE THEM TECHNICAL SKILLS THEY CAN USE TO THEN GET JOBS, BUT THEY CREATE VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY EXPERIENCES AND TELL STORIES THAT WAY.

SO THEY'VE ALREADY COMPLETED MANY INTERVIEWS WITH FORMER ROSEWOOD RESIDENTS, RESIDENTS VIEWS AUSTIN.

THEY'RE HOPING TO DOUBLE THE NUMBER THEY'VE DONE SO FAR AND BRING THAT ALL INTO A VIRTUAL REALITY, AUGMENTED REALITY PRESENTATION SPACE FOR THIS, FOR THIS WELCOME CENTER.

THEY OPERATE A HIGH QUALITY PRE-K AND DAYCARE OUT OF OUR MEADOWBROOK APARTMENT SITE.

UM, SO WE'RE GONNA TAKE THAT SAME MODEL AND PUT IT AT SANTA RITA.

THE, THE SANTA RITA AND HAKA FAMILIES WILL HAVE A PRIORITY AND THEN IT WILL FILL IN FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD AROUND.

WE'RE REALLY EXCITED TO BRING HIGH QUALITY PRE-K TO THIS PROPERTY.

UM, WE DO HERE IN THE CITY OF AUSTIN.

WE SENT A MEMO TO MARIN COUNCIL THE END OF

FEBRUARY OUTLINING, UM, SOME THINGS THAT WE WERE SEEING, UH, AND THAT EVERYBODY'S BEEN SEEING IN THE NEWS MEDIA, UM, ABOUT SPENDING CUTS AND STAFF CUTS.

THE THING THAT, UH, PARTICULARLY STRUCK US WAS NEWS THAT FOR THE US DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, HUD THAT PROVIDES, UM, A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF OUR FUNDING, UM, WAS GOING TO EXPERIENCE 50% STAFF CUTS.

AND THAT IN ONE PARTICULAR DIVISION AT HUD, WHICH IS CALLED THE COMMUNITY PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT, OR CPD, UH, THEY WERE PLANNING AN 84% STAFF CUT.

SO FOR CPD, UH, ACROSS THE COUNTRY, THERE WERE NEARLY A THOUSAND EMPLOYEES.

AND THE ARTICULATED GOAL WAS TO GET THOSE EMPLOYEES DOWN TO 150 EMPLOYEES.

THE REASON WE WERE TUNED INTO CPD STAFF CUTS AND THE, THERE HASN'T BEEN SPECIFIC CORRELATION OR MENTION OF FUNDING CUTS PER SE.

WE'RE TALKING ABOUT STAFF CUTS RIGHT NOW, BUT CPD IS WHERE, UM, THE BULK OF OUR HUD FUNDING LIES.

SO WE COME HERE AND TALK FREQUENTLY ABOUT CDBG COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT, HOME FUNDING, HOPWA, WHICH IS HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS AND ESG EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT.

ALL FOUR OF THOSE BLOCK GRANTS COME UNDER CPD, AS DOES OUR CONTINUUM OF CARE FUNDING FOR PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS.

TO GIVE YOU ALL A LITTLE BIT OF CONTEXT, UM, THIS YEAR OUR, THIS FISCAL YEAR, OUR FOUR BLOCK GRANTS, CDBG HOME, HOPPO, ESG, UH, REPRESENT ABOUT FOUR $14 MILLION THAT COMES TO THE CITY OF AUSTIN.

AND WE, UH, PROVIDE A RANGE OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES AND CONTRACT WITH A VARIETY OF ORGANIZATIONS.

UM, THAT INCLUDES FOR CDBG HOME REPAIR IS A MINOR HOME REPAIR WHERE WE CONTRACT WITH NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS.

WE ALSO, THROUGH AUSTIN PUBLIC HEALTH, HAVE, UH, OVER A MILLION DOLLARS IN WHAT WE CALL PUBLIC SERVICES THROUGH CDBG.

THAT INCLUDES MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, SENIOR SERVICES, UM, AND YOUTH SERVICES.

THAT'S ALL THROUGH CDBG.

WE HAVE THROUGH HOME, THERE WAS A MENTION OF HABITAT FOR HUMANITY AND OUR DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, HO THROUGH THE HOME PROGRAM WE PROVIDE.

LAST YEAR WAS CLOSE TO 30 DPAS DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE FOR LOW AND MODERATE INCOME HOUSEHOLDS.

WE ALSO DO TENANT, TENANT-BASED RENTAL ASSISTANCE FOR PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS.

UM, UH, HOPWA PROVIDES FUNDING TO A FOUR COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATION THAT SERVE PEOPLE WITH HIV AIDS AND ESG PROVIDES, UH, FUNDING FOR SHELTER OPERATIONS FOR PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS.

SO THESE ARE CRUCIAL, CRUCIAL FOUNDATIONAL PROGRAMS. UM, WE HAVE GRANT AGREEMENTS WITH HUD THAT WERE ASSIGNED IN THE FALL, IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN, FOR THIS FISCAL YEAR, FOR THAT $14 MILLION IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR.

THE $14 MILLION FOR OUR COC, OUR CONTINUUM OF CARE ORGANIZATIONS WAS ANNOUNCED, BUT WE DON'T HAVE SIGNED GRANT AGREEMENTS YET FOR THOSE, WE ARE KEENLY WATCHING WHAT IS, UH, HAPPENING, UH, AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL AS WELL AS AT THE LOCAL LEVEL.

WE, WE REPORT UP THROUGH THE SAN ANTONIO FIELD OFFICE.

UM, THERE ARE PARTNERS IN EVERYTHING THAT WE DO.

UM, AND, AND WE ARE CERTAINLY WATCHING WHEN STAFF CUTS COULD TAKE PLACE AND THEN WHAT THAT WOULD MEAN FOR ACTUAL PROGRAMS. UM, I WISH I HAD MORE CONCRETE INFORMATION TO PROVIDE YOU ALL, LIKE, WE EXPECT BY THIS DATE THIS WILL HAPPEN.

WE REALLY DON'T HAVE THAT INFORMATION.
