SINCE 2021 FOR THE PAST FOUR YEARS, CAP METROS TOD PROGRAM HAS MADE SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE CITY'S TRANSIT, HOUSING, AND LAND USE INITIATIVES. THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF AUSTIN, WE WERE AWARDED FIVE FEDERAL DISCRETIONARY GRANTS IN THE PAST FOUR YEARS, TOTALING 4.75 MILLION, INCLUDING FOUR CONSECUTIVE TOD GRANT FROM THE FTA TO SUPPORT OUR EFFORTS. THIS CULMINATED IN THE ETOD STUDY THAT PRODUCED A TWO 2023 COUNCIL ACCEPTED TO ETOD POLICY PLAN. THE 2025 COUNCIL ADOPTED STATION AREA VISION PLANS FOR TWO OF OUR TRANSIT CENTERS AT NORTH MAR AND SOUTH CONGRESS, AS WELL AS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE EAST RIVERSIDE CORRIDOR VISION PLAN AND REGULATING PLAN UPDATE. OUR POLICY FRAMEWORK PARTNERSHIP MODEL AND ENGAGEMENT SUCCESS WAS RECOGNIZED BY THE FTA AND REPLICATED BY PEER AGENCIES AROUND THE COUNTRY. IT'S BEEN 12 YEARS SINCE OUR LAST TO OD POLICY UPDATE. WE ARE NOW APPROACHING TODS WITH A BROADER PERSPECTIVE AND NEED TO CONSIDER TO OD OPPORTUNITIES ON A COMMUNITY AND REGIONAL LEVEL. WE HAVE NEW UPCOMING OD PROJECTS AND TOD CANDIDATE SIZE WITH VARIANCE DEGREES OF COMPLEXITY. WE ALSO HAVE MORE, WE'RE ALSO MORE MATURE IN THE TOD PROCESS WITH NEW FUNDING SOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTNER WITH BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS. TOO MUCH TIME WAS ELAPSING BEFORE THEY HAD MORE INTERACTION AND COMMUNICATION WITH THEIR CLIENTS. UM, YOU'LL SEE IN THE MEMO THAT THE UMO ADOPTION RATE IS INCREASING STEADILY. UM, WHAT THAT MEANS IS THAT MEANS THERE'S ALSO A LOT MORE TRANSACTIONS ON THE VEHICLES. UM, YOU'LL SEE TWO CHARTS IN THE MEMO AND IT SHOWS YOU HOW MUCH THAT'S BEEN INCREASING, WHICH ALSO MEANS THAT OUR CUSTOMERS WHO ARE BENEFITING FROM FAIR CAPPING IS INCREASING AS WELL. AND SO, UM, WE ACTUALLY ARE SO DEDICATED TO THIS PROGRAM THAT WE HAVE A SOCIAL SERVICE, UH, WORKER THAT WE ACTUALLY HIRE DIRECTLY AT CAP METRO TO BE THE PERSON WHO COORDINATES WITH ALL OF OUR PROVIDERS TO HEAR THEIR FEEDBACK, UM, AND HEAR HOW WE CAN CHANGE THE PROGRAM, MAKE IT EASIER TO USE, BUT ALSO TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE A FIDELITY TO THE PROGRAM. UM, ONE OF OUR LIMITATIONS INITIALLY WAS WE WERE, WE THOUGHT WE HAD THE ABILITY TO TURN OFF LOST CARDS AND IT TURNED OUT DUE TO SOME CODING THAT WE WEREN'T ABLE TO TURN THEM OFF WITH THE ORIGINAL SYSTEM. THAT'S PART OF THE REASON WHY WE REDESIGNED IT. AND THEN ALSO REALIGNED EXPECTATIONS WITH OUR SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS, UM, TO ENSURE THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE EITHER A LOT OF CARDS OUT THERE THAT WERE EITHER BEING MISUSED OR THEY WERE LOST. UM, UH, AND, AND THEY WERE KIND OF STARTING TO MUDDY THE WATER OF THE PROGRAM. SO WHAT HAPPENS NOW IS WE WORK DIRECTLY WITH SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS AND WE HAVE A ME MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING. AND I THINK IT'S WORTH NOTING THAT WE REALLY WORK WITH PROVIDERS THAT PROVIDE A LEVEL OF CASE MANAGEMENT. SO THEY'RE REALLY WORKING WITH OUR CUSTOMERS. UM, SO THAT TRANSPORTATION IS NOT A BARRIER TO OTHER SERVICES. UM, AND SO FOR OUR, OUR SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDERS THAT ARE PROVIDING THAT CASE MANAGEMENT, UM, THEY ALSO EXPRESS TO US THAT IT'S HELPFUL TO HAVE THE PAST GO FROM TWO YEARS TO ONE YEAR. UM, BECAUSE IT HELPS CREATE MORE CONNECTIONS TO THEIR CLIENTS TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE'S MORE COMMUNICATION INTERACTION. AND AND HOW MANY, HOW DO YOU DETERMINE HOW MANY CARDS TO ISSUE TO A A A GIVEN SOCIAL SERVICE PROVIDER? DO THEY REQUEST IT OR IS THERE JUST A, A, A FLAT NUMBER THAT WHEN YOU GET YOUR MOU BACK FROM THEM THAT YOU GIVE THEM LIKE A HUNDRED CARDS TO START WITH OR SOMETHING? NO, WE ACTUALLY LET THEM REQUEST HOW MANY CARDS THAT THEY NEED. UM, AND CURRENTLY IF THEIR DATA GOING BACK TO TALKING ABOUT THE ONE PERSON ONE CARD, UM, IF THEIR DATA MATCHES UP, THEN WE WILL GIVE THEM EXACTLY AS THEY ASKED. UM, WE ARE ALL ALL IN ON TRYING TO MAKE SURE THAT FOLKS KNOW HOW TO DO BUSINESS WITH US, BUT ALSO KNOW HOW TO PARTNER WITH ONE ANOTHER BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT WE'RE, UM, YOU KNOW, LAST MAN STANDING TO AWARD A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IT SEEMS IS GONNA HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING AN AVAILABLE CONTRACTOR. SO WE'RE ALL WORKING VERY HARD AND VERY COLLABORATIVELY TO MAKE SURE THAT AS A REGION WE'RE READY TO DO THAT. UM, NEXT UP, UM, SOME FANTASTIC NEWS. WE PROVIDED AN UPDATE AT LAST MONTH'S OPERATIONS COMMITTEE MEETING, UM, AND AS WELL AS SOME PICTURES OF THE FULL BOARD MEETING LOOKING AT THE, UM, DAMAGE THAT, THAT WE, UM, WITHSTOOD DURING, UM, THE 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND FLOODS. UM, UH, WHEN THE SAN GABRIEL RIVER, UM, CRESTED AT BASICALLY JUST BELOW THAT HIGH AERIAL BRIDGE YOU SEE THERE IN THAT PHOTO. UM, WE HAD OVER 25 LOCATIONS ALONG OUR FREIGHT RAIL RIGHT OF WAY, UM, THAT SUSTAINED DAMAGE. AND I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE FULLY RESTORED OUR FREIGHT SERVICE, UM, TO A NUMBER, TO THE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS UP IN THAT AREA. UM, SOME OF OUR LARGEST SHIPPERS, UM, ARE IN OUR NORTHWEST AREAS, THE AGGREGATE, UM, COMPANIES UP THERE THAT SHIP LOTS OF ROCK AND SAND AND OTHER STUFF, UM, AND WENT ABOUT A MONTH WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO RE UM, RECEIVE FREIGHT SERVICE. SO, UM, MANY KUDOS TO WACO WHO OPERATES OUR FREIGHT RAIL FOR US, UM, FOR REALLY MOBILIZING QUICKLY TO HELP US, UM, MAKE THESE MINI REPAIRS AND GET THINGS BACK READY TO GO. UM, AND THEN, UM, LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THIS PAST WEEKEND, IN FACT JUST SATURDAY NIGHT, UM, WE WERE THRILLED TO JOIN A NUMBER OF ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COMMUNITY AT AUSTIN'S ANNUAL PRIDE PARADE. YOU SEE THERE, OUR BEAUTIFUL PRIDE PARADE BUS, UM, FEATURING BARBETTE. UM, BARBETTE WAS ACTUALLY A LOCAL, UM, LEGEND THAT I HAD NOT HEARD OF UNTIL WE DECIDED, UM, TO DO THIS BUS. SO, UM, BARBETTE WAS, UM, A GAY TRAPEZE AND TIGHTROPE ARTIST THAT WAS RAISED IN ROUND ROCK, TEXAS. UM, FASCINATED WITH THE CIRCUS AS A LITTLE BOY. HE BEGAN HIS CIRCUS CAREER AS AN AERIALIST, UM, AT THE AGE OF 14 AND CREATED A SOLO ACT FOR VAUDEVILLE THAT HE TOOK ON THE ROAD ON THE, UNDER THE NAME OF BARBETTE IN THE 1920S AND 1930S. UM, HE PERFORMED AS WHAT WAS THEN, UM, CALLED A FEMALE IMPERSONATOR, UM, ALL AROUND THE GLOBE. UM, HE IS AN ICONIC FIGURE WITHIN THE DRAG COMMUNITY AND, UM, AMONG HISTORIANS OF VAUDEVILLE IN THE CIRCUS. AND AS A LOCAL LEGEND, WE THOUGHT WAS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY, UM, FOR US TO CELEBRATE CAP METRO. UM, DURING THE PRIDE PARADE, WE WERE ALSO THRILLED TO BE, UM, JOINED BY BOTH THE NIECE AND GRANDNIECE OF BARBETTE, UM, WHO WALKED WITH US, UM, AND RODE WITH US DURING THE PARADE, UM, ON SATURDAY NIGHT. UM, AND AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE SHORT VIDEO THERE, WE ALSO HAD A LOT OF FUN, WHICH WE ALWAYS DO EVERY YEAR AT THE PRIDE PARADE. UM, AND THEN LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I THINK, UH, COMING UP ON THE NEXT SLIDE IS OUR, UM, CUSTOMER SERVICE, UM, STATS FOR THE MONTH. UM, OVERALL OUR CONTACT VOLUME CONTINUES TO BE, UM, TO RANK IN SOME OF THE HIGHEST EVER MONTHS. UM, THE MONTH OF JULY WAS OUR FOURTH, FOURTH HIGHEST MONTH EVER, JUST LIKE JUNE WAS JULY ACTUALLY KICKED JUNE OUT OF THE FOURTH HIGHEST EVER SLOT. UM, IN TERMS OF CALL VOLUME AND CUSTOMER CONTACTS. UM, WE CONTINUE TO GET A LOT OF QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CHANGES TO OUR FAIR SYSTEMS ABOUT CARDS THAT AREN'T AREN'T WORKING, HOW YOU GET THEM, HOW YOU RELOAD THEM. UM, WE'VE ALSO HAD SOME, UH, INCREASED CALL VOLUME. WE EXPERIENCED SOME, UH, MAINTENANCE NEEDS AT OUR NEW TRANSIT STORE LOCATION, UM, THIS MONTH AND HAD A, A TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THAT FACILITY.
