SHE'S JUST JOINED US ABOUT A MONTH AGO, SO IF YOU WANNA YES, THANK YOU.

AS RAJIV MENTIONED, I'VE BEEN WITH THE CITY FOR 14 YEARS.

UM, I STARTED AT AUSTIN PUBLIC HEALTH, WORKED IN FINANCIAL SERVICES, AUSTIN WATER, AND THEN ULTIMATELY I WAS AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR AT WATERSHED PROTECTION DEPARTMENT OVER BUSINESS ENTERPRISES.

UH, REALLY EXCITED TO BE HERE, ESPECIALLY NOW WITH THIS, UH, GROWTH THAT WE ARE GOING HAVE FOR A US.

SO HAPPY TO SUPPORT, UH, RAJIV AND, UH, PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION TO YOU THAT YOU MAY NEED.

UH, SO JUMPING INTO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR AUGUST, UM, THE, WE HAD SOME GOOD NUMBERS ON OUR STATS AND IN PLACEMENTS, AS YOU SAW, IT WAS A 3.2% GROWTH YEAR OVER YEAR ON FOR AUGUST.

SO THAT WAS A WELCOME, UM, NUMBER COMPARED TO WHAT WE'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING IN THE PRIOR MONTHS, WHICH WAS EITHER FLAT GROWTH OR, YOU KNOW, SLIGHT YEAR OVER YEAR DECLINES.

SO AUGUST WAS A GOOD NUMBER FOR US.

UH, YEAR TO DATE, WE ARE STILL DOWN ABOUT 3%, BUT, UM, YOU KNOW, THE, I THINK IT LOOKS LIKE THOSE LOSSES HAVE KINDA LEVELED OUT AND WE ARE DOING A LITTLE BIT BETTER THAN THAT YEAR OVER YEAR.

RECEIVE ANY MICRO OR MACRO EXPLANATION FOR THAT GOOD TREND? NOT REALLY .

YEAH, I MEAN, WE WERE KIND OF PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BECAUSE, UM, I SAW A REPORT, UM, YEAR TO DATE, UM, ALEX, AT LEAST CALENDAR YEAR TO DATE.

UM, I THINK THE TSA NUMBERS, UM, NATIONWIDE WAS DOWN ABOUT 2%.

SO IT WAS, I WAS KIND OF GLAD TO SEE THAT AUGUST WE ACTUALLY DID KIND OF BETTER OR IS KIND OF IMPROVING.

SO, BUT COULDN'T REALLY SPECIFICALLY TIE TO ANY PARTICULAR EVENTS OR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENED, SO IT WAS JUST, UM, YEAH, WE'LL TAKE IT.

YEAH, WE'LL TAKE IT.

YEAH.

UM, ON THE, ON THE FINANCIAL SIDE, UM, I WANT TO KIND OF POINT OUT THAT, UM, UH, YEAR OVER YEAR ON THE REVENUES, WE ARE UP 10% FOR, FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST.

UM, AND AGAIN, MOST OF THAT GROWTH IS DRIVEN BY US.

AS YOU'VE SEEN IN THE PAST, THE AIRLINE REVENUES, UM, EXCEEDING, UH, LAST YEAR'S BY ABOUT TWO, UH, $1.9 MILLION AND THEN NON AIRLINE REVENUES BY ABOUT A MILLION DOLLARS.

UH, ONE THING TO KIND OF POINT OUT IN THIS FINANCIAL STATEMENTS THAT WE MADE A CHANGE, AND I HAD ALLUDED TO THIS BACK ABOUT TWO OR THREE MONTHS AGO, WAS THE, YOU KNOW, WE HAD THAT EXCESS IN THE DEBT SERVICE RESERVE FUND THAT WE HAD, UH, TRANSFERRED INTO THE DEBT SERVICE FUND.

AND I SAID THAT, YOU KNOW, WE WOULD MEET WITH THE BOND COUNCIL BECAUSE THE BOND ORDINANCE CALL FOR IT TO MOVE TO THE REVENUE FUND.

AND WE MADE THAT ADJUSTMENT IN THE, IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST.

SO WHAT YOU WILL SEE IS, YOU KNOW, AT THE BOTTOM YOU'LL SEE THAT NINE AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS SAYS TRANSFERRING FROM THE DEBT SERVICE RESERVE FUND.

THAT AMOUNT WAS SITTING AS A CREDIT IN THE DEBT SERVICE REQUIREMENTS.

SO IT'S JUST GOT MOVED OUT AND SEPARATED.

THE INTENT OF THAT FUND, THE EXCESS FROM THE DEBT SERVICE RESERVE FUND WAS NEVER TO BE REALLY USED FOR OPERATING EXPENSES AND IS NOT REALLY OPERATING REVENUES BECAUSE WHAT WE ARE REFLECTING HERE IS REALLY OPERATING REVENUES.

SO THAT EXCESS IS REALLY GONNA GO TO OUR CAPITAL FUND TO, TO FUND OUR CIP PROJECTS.

SO THAT IS JUST SHOWN AS A SEPARATE LINE AND IT JUST SHOWS YEAR OVER YEAR THAT, YOU KNOW, IT INCREASES THE NET TRANSFER THAT WE ARE GONNA DO AT THE END OF THE YEAR TO THE CAPITAL FUND VERSUS THE PRIOR YEAR, BUT VERSUS BUDGET.

SO, UM, I MEAN, JUST, I'LL JUST TALK TO THE OTHER NUMBERS.

UM, SO YOU CAN SEE, UM, OPERATING EXPENSES, UM, IT SHOWS WE ARE UP ABOUT, UH, 20% YEAR OVER YEAR, BUT

YEAR TO DATE WE ARE UP 11% IN LINE WITH WHERE WE BUDGETED.

UH, THE, ONE OF THE REASONS, MAIN REASONS FOR THAT IS, UH, AUGUST WAS A THREE PAY PERIOD MONTH AND SO WAS THE PRIOR YEAR, AUGUST AT THREE PAY PERIOD MONTHS.

SO THAT WAS KIND OF CAUSING THAT ANOMALY THERE VERSUS BUDGET.

UM, YOU CAN SEE THE REVENUES WE ARE TRACKING VERY CLOSELY WITH WHAT WE BUDGETED.

WE ARE ONLY OFF ABOUT $86,000 VERSUS WHERE WE BUDGETED AND WHEN WE EXPECT SEPTEMBER TO COME IN LINE TOO WITH WHAT WE BUDGETED.

SO WE EXPECT TO BE IN LINE WITH WHAT WE BUDGETED IN TERMS OF OPERATING REVENUES, DESPITE THE FACT THAT, YOU KNOW, IN PLACEMENTS WERE LOWER THAN WHAT WE HAD BUDGETED ON THE OPERATING EXPENSE SIDE.

ON THE, UM, ON THE AIRPORT SIDE, YOU'LL SEE THERE'S A $1 MILLION FAVORABILITY VERSUS BUDGET AND WE EXPECT THAT TO BE, AND ALSO IN LINE WITH, UH, WHEN THE SEPTEMBER NUMBERS COME IN, WE EXPECT TO BE ROUGHLY THE SAME, SO YEAR OVER YEAR, UM, YOU CAN SEE IF YOU GO TO THE SECOND PAGE, UH, YEAR TO DATE, 82 MILLION, 82 POINT AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS IN TERMS OF SURPLUS REVENUES VERSUS $78.9 MILLION VERSUS LAST YEAR.

SO IT'S ABOUT $3.6 MILLION IMPROVEMENT.

MOST OF THAT RELATED TO THE NINE AND A HALF MILLION FROM THE EXCESS RESERVE FUND DEFICIENCY.

WHAT, WHAT VERSUS WHAT WE BUDGETED THAT IS ABOUT $11 MILLION HIGHER THAN WHAT WE BUDGETED, AGAIN, DUE TO THE NINE AND A HALF MILLION.

SO ONE THING I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE, UH, ON THAT FIRST PAGE IN THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, THAT NINE AND A HALF MILLION DOLLARS FROM TRANSFERRING FROM DEBT SERVICE RESERVE FUND IN THE VARIANCE COLUMN REALLY SHOULD BE REFLECTED AS A POSITIVE NUMBER.

IN THIS ONE.

IT IS INCORRECT AS IN SHOWN AS A NEGATIVE NUMBER, BUT, BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS CORRECT MM-HMM .

SO IT WAS JUST HARD CODED IN THERE.

UM, SO THAT'S REALLY THE, THE ALL I HAD FOR IN TERMS OF THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT AND, AND JUST TO BE CLEAR AND YEAH, MAYBE FOR MY BENEFIT AND FOR THE COMMISSION'S BENEFIT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT BOTTOM OF PAGE 14 IN OUR SLIDE DECK, THE NINE AND A HALF MILLION THAT IS DISCUSSED THERE YES.

IS REALLY TO THE POSITIVE AND NOT THE NEGATIVE.

SO IN THE OCTOBER 9TH CITY COUNCIL AGENDA, TREASURY IS GONNA BRING UP A RENEWAL ON THAT PARAMETER ORDINANCE TO GO AHEAD AND AGAIN, EXPLORE THE REFUNDING OF IT.

RIGHT NOW WE ARE PLANNING TO PRICE IN OCTOBER, IN NOVEMBER, MID-NOVEMBER.

YOU KNOW, THE INTEREST RATES HAVE MOVED FAVORABLY AGAIN FOR US TO PURSUE IT, SO JUST KNOW THAT THAT'S ON THE CITY COUNCIL
