SO WE, WE LOOK AT A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT TOOLS AND OPTIONS. THERE'S A, A TECHNOLOGY ONE FORTHCOMING THAT WILL HELP NAVIGATE THROUGH STOPLIGHTS, UH, UH, IN A FASTER FASHION. SO WE'RE EXCITED TO SEE WHEN THAT GETS UP AND RUNNING IN FULL FORCE, HOW THAT'LL HELP US WITH OUR RESPONSE TIMES. WE'VE ALSO HAD, UH, A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT WITH EMS AND THE, UH, MEDICAL DIRECTOR ON, UH, MAKING SOME APPROPRIATE ADJUSTMENTS TO WHO RESPONDS TO WHAT TYPE OF CALL. AND SO YOU'LL SEE A LITTLE DIP IN THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CALLS WE HAVE THIS YEAR COMPARED TO LAST YEAR THAT, UH, MAY BE RELATED TO THAT. IT'S ONLY BEEN IN PLAY FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. SO WE'LL SEE OVER THE COURSE OF TIME, UH, HOW THAT AFFECTS OUR CALL VOLUME. AND WHERE THAT PLAYS INTO, INTO EFFECT IS, IT'S NOT UNCOMMON FOR A UNIT TO BE ON A CALL AND THEN ANOTHER CALL COME IN THEIR TERRITORY. SO A UNIT FOR MUCH FURTHER AWAY HAS TO, TO, UM, RESPOND TO THAT, AND THAT OBVIOUSLY WOULD TAKE A LONGER TIMEFRAME. SO THESE ADJUSTMENTS MIGHT HELP TO MINIMIZE SOME OF THAT AND HELP US WITH OUR OVERALL RESPONSE TIME. SO WE'RE LOOKING AT A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT MECHANISMS THAT, THAT WE CAN, UH, USE IN AN APPROPRIATE FASHION TO HELP US WITH GETTING TO THE CALLS IN A TIMELY FASHION. RIGHT. UH, NEXT SLIDE PLEASE. SO, VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE CITY'S EFFORTS IN HELPING OUR FACILITIES. UH, WE'VE HAD A NUMBER OF, IN ADDITION TO THE FIVE STATIONS OVER THE PAST SIX OR SO YEARS THAT WERE BRAND NEW BUILDS. WE'VE ALSO HAD THE CITY INVEST A LOT OF, UH, EQUITY INTO, UH, THE EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE. AND SO WE'VE GOT SOME STATIONS THAT HAVE BEEN RECENTLY COMPLETED, UH, WITH A VARIETY OF, UM, REFRESHMENTS DONE TO THEM AS FAR AS THE, THE, UH, UH, COMPLETE REBUILD, WHICH IS THE STATION 25, THAT THEY HAD A NUMBER OF ISSUES TO IT, TO OTHER THINGS WHERE THEY JUST GONE IN AND, AND MADE MINOR ADJUSTMENTS. WHEN I SAY MINOR, IT DIDN'T REQUIRE PERMITS TO BE PULLED TO BE DONE. SO IT WOULD BE A, A THOROUGH CLEANING OF THE STATION, UH, PAINT, MAYBE NEW CABINETS, UH, COUNTERTOPS, FIXTURES, THOSE SORT OF ITEMS. UH, IN FACT, STATION 17, UH, THEY JUST STARTED THAT TODAY, AND THAT'LL BE ONE OF THOSE WHERE THERE'S NO PERMITS REQUIRED, BUT, UH, THEY'LL DO A LOT OF ADJUSTMENTS TO REFRESH IT. THOSE, THESE, UH, FACILITIES YOU CAN IMAGINE ARE WELL LOVED OVER THE YEARS WITH BEING LIVED IN 24 7, NEVER UNOCCUPIED. SO, UH, THINGS DO WEAR OUT OVER TIME, AND WE'RE VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE CITY'S INVESTMENT IN, IN, UH, MAKING THEM, UM, FUNCTIONAL FOR OUR FOLKS. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. UH, AUTOMATIC AID. I'VE SHARED WITH YOU BEFORE, WE HAVE MOST OF TRAVIS COUNTY AND SOME OF WILLIAMSON COUNTY THAT ARE PART OF THE AUTOMATIC AID. AND JUST THE BENEFITS THAT THAT COME WITH THAT IS THE CLOSEST UNIT RESPONDS AUTOMATICALLY. THERE'S NO CALL TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE. SO IT HELPS WITH THE, THE QUICKEST, UH, UH, POSSIBILITY OF THE RIGHT UNITS BEING ON SCENE IN A TIMELY FASHION TO MITIGATE THE INCIDENT. AND HERE'S AN EXAMPLE. THERE WAS A BRUSH FIRE, UH, IN WHAT WAS, UH, THE PETALS AREA. THEY HAD OVER 15 UNITS RESPOND TO FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS. AND, AND AS FAST AS THOSE BRUSH FIRES CAN MOVE, GETTING THOSE ON ON SCENE IN A TIMELY FASHION, ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL TO MINIMIZE THE, THE EFFECT THAT THOSE FIRES COULD HAVE ON OUR, OUR COMMUNITIES AND OUR MEMBERS. AND TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE, WE'RE WORKING SUCCINCTLY. WE DO A LOT OF TRAINING AND [00:10:01] DRILLING TOGETHER TO PRACTICE TO MAKE SURE THAT WHEN WE SHOW UP ON SCENE, WE'RE WORKING AS ONE, UH, UH, WELL-OILED MACHINE VERSUS A VARIETY OF DEPARTMENTS THAT ARE COMING TOGETHER IN AN AD HOC FASHION. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. THIS ONE IS ONE THAT YOU GET FROM EMS AS WELL, UH, ON A REGULAR BASIS. SO JUST PROVIDING HERE WHAT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT DOES AS FAR AS, UH, DRUG OVERDOSE CALLS. AND YOU CAN SEE CHANGES OVER TIME TO THAT WE'LL SEE IS, AS I KNOW EMS IS DOING A PHENOMENAL JOB WITH THEIR OUTREACH AND, AND OUR FOLKS DO A GREAT JOB IN THEIR, UH, RESPONSES, WHAT THAT'LL DO OVER TIME. NEXT SLIDE. UH, ARSON INVESTIGATIONS. UH, SUPER PROUD OF OUR FOLKS HERE, UH, THAT THE, THEIR CLEARANCE RATE IS, IS SO MUCH HIGHER THAN THE NATIONAL AVERAGE, AND THEY'RE VERY BUSY GROUP. UH, AS A HIGHLIGHT HERE, THERE WAS, UH, AN INDIVIDUAL WHO WAS SETTING FIRES IN A, UH, UH, WILD WILDFIRE AREA, UH, IN THE, IN THE FOREST, UH, IN A NEIGHBORHOOD. AND, UH, THROUGH SOME PAYING ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS OF WHAT'S GOING ON, SEVERAL MEMBERS JUMPED IN TO RECOGNIZE BY COMMUNICATION THAT THIS IS AN AREA THAT'S HAD MULTIPLE FIRES TO IT. A DIFFERENT UNIT HAPPENED TO RESPOND ON THIS GIVEN DAY. UH, BUT, UH, A A, UH, ONE OF OUR ASSISTANT CHIEFS WHO WAS KEEPING AN EYE ON THIS RECOGNIZED THAT CALLED OVER THE RADIO TO LOOK FOR SOMEONE IN THAT AREA, JUST IN CASE THEY WERE STILL LINGERING AROUND. AND, AND THROUGH THAT COLLABORATIVE EFFORT, WE'RE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE INDIVIDUAL WHO'D BEEN SETTING THOSE FIRES AND WAS, WERE ABLE TO, TO GET THEM OFF THE STREET AT LEAST FOR, FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, UM, TO, TO MINIMIZE THOSE FIRES FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. SO THE, AS YOU KNOW, THOSE WILDFIRES CAN, CAN MOVE QUICKLY AND INTO COMMUNITIES. SO, UH, WORKING COLLABORATIVELY TOGETHER AND, AND, AND PAYING ATTENTION TO WHAT'S GOING ON, UH, ON A DAILY BASIS, SURE DID PAY OFF IN THIS, THIS SITUATION TO AVOID SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A FAR WORSE SITUATION. NEXT SLIDE. OUR WILDFIRE DIVISION, WHICH YOU'RE GONNA HEAR FROM HERE IN JUST A LITTLE WHILE WITH THEIR, THEIR BIANNUAL UPDATE, UH, STAYING VERY, VERY BUSY. UH, ONE THING THAT LISTED ON HERE IS THE, UH, UM, UH, FORGIVE ME, I'M DRAWING A BLANK ON, ON THESE, UH, THE SIZE. SO THE STRUCTURE IGNITION ZONE EVALUATIONS, UH, THOSE, UH, AFTER WHAT HAPPENED IN IN LA UH, MOST CERTAINLY DREW ATTENTION HERE AND THEY'VE GOTTEN A, A, A HUGE VOLUME OF REQUESTS FOR THOSE. SO, KUDOS TO THEM FOR THAT. UH, FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW, THEY'VE BEEN WORKING ON A CENTRAL AWARENESS TOOL. UH, IT'S A, IT'S A SOFTWARE, UM, TOOL, IF YOU WILL, THAT HELPS US TO, TO SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING ON A PARTICULAR SCENE, NOT ONLY WHERE UNITS ARE, BUT HELPS WITH A VARIETY OF OTHER THINGS. IF THERE'S A MAJOR WILDFIRE ISSUE AND WE'RE HAVING TO EVACUATE COMMUNITIES, IT GIVES A, A, A, UH, MECHANISM TO TRACK WHERE THINGS, WHICH STRUCTURES HAVE BEEN CHECKED, WHICH ONES WE KNOW THE PEOPLE ARE GONE FROM, THAT THOSE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF. IT, IT, IT HAS MULTIPLE LAYERS TO IT, AND IT IS SUPER, SUPER HELPFUL FOR US IN, IN ADDRESSING ONE OF THOSE LARGE SCALE INCIDENTS WHENEVER THEY MAY OCCUR AGAIN, UH, ALONG WITH A HOST OF OTHER THINGS THAT THEY'LL BE GOING INTO HERE IN A LITTLE WHILE. VERY GRATEFUL FOR THE, THEIR TEAM AND THE HARD WORK THAT THEY DO. NEXT SLIDE. UH, FIRE MARSHAL'S OFFICE DOES A VARIETY OF THINGS. YOU THINK OF THEM DOING ITEMS LIKE, UH, UH, NEW, NEW STRUCTURE BUILDS AND MAKING SURE THAT THE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS, ALARM SYSTEMS, ALL THAT WORK EXITS ARE, ARE, UH, IN THE RIGHT SPOT AND HAVE THE RIGHT, UH, MECHANISMS FOR FOLKS TO GET OUT QUICKLY. THEY ALSO DO PRE-EX, UH, UH, UH, ALREADY EXISTING BUILDINGS SUCH AS THIS ONE TO MAKE SURE ALL THE, THE, THE, UH, SAFETY FEATURES ARE OPERATING PROPERLY. THEY ALSO DO SPECIAL EVENTS AND THE, UH, THE IMPORTANCE. YOU SEE, THE VARIETY OF THINGS THAT THEY DO BUSY NEARLY YEAR ROUND WITH CERTAIN MONTHS HAVING A HIGHER UPTICK TO 'EM. UH, BUT SOME OF THE BENEFITS HERE, UH, AS WE HAD BETWEEN ACL AND F1, ALMOST A MILLION PEOPLE, 450,000 OVER TWO WEEKENDS AND 400,000 FOR F1. UH, THERE WAS ON ONE OCCASION WHERE ONE OF THE FOOD TRUCKS CAUGHT FIRE. THANKFULLY, THEY'RE ABLE TO STEP IN AND, AND ADDRESS IT WITHOUT IT BECOMING A MAJOR ISSUE. UH, BUT JUST THE, THE, THE, THE, THE FANTASTIC WORK THAT THEY DO IN PREPARATION OF, SO THAT PEOPLE CAN MILL ABOUT SAFELY, GET OUT SAFELY IF THEY NEED TO, AND ALSO TO HAVE THE RIGHT RESOURCES ON SCENE. UH, VERY CRUCIAL BECAUSE GETTING INTO ONE OF THOSE EVENTS IS MOST CERTAINLY VERY CHALLENGING IF YOU'RE ONE OF THE, THE, THE, UH, THE PATRONS, LET ALONE TRYING TO NAVIGATE THROUGH IN A LARGE FIRETRUCK. AND, UH, THE, THANKFULLY, THE INDIVIDUAL THAT WAS IN THAT COOLER WAS ABLE TO, TO SELF EXTRICATE. BUT BY HAVING THE RIGHT U THE PEOPLE ON SCENE WITH THE RIGHT DETECTORS AND ALL THAT, WERE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM, MITIGATE IT IN A TIMELY FASHION. AND THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED THROUGH THAT. AND AGAIN, UH, THIS CAN BE BROKEN OUT BY COUNCIL DISTRICT FOR FOLKS TO LOOK AT WHERE THIS MOST OF OUR WORK'S BEING DONE THERE. UH, THEN AS FAR AS FUEL MITIGATION, UM, IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS WE HAVE PARTNERED WITH, UH, UH, OTHER AGENCIES, PARTNER AGENCIES ON SEVEN PRESCRIBED FIRES FOR OVER 500 ACRES. UH, IT'S AN, I THINK, A VALUABLE PART OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT'S MISSION ALSO TO, UM, SUPPORT OUR FIRE USE PARTNERS AND LAND MANAGEMENT AGENCIES. UH, IT'S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO, UH, PROACTIVELY MANAGE THE LANDSCAPE AS WELL AS HAVE FIREFIGHTER TRAINING ON THE LIVE FIRE ENVIRONMENT. UM, AND OUR STAFF ALSO, UH, CONTINUES TO WORK WITH THOSE PARTNER AGENCIES IN WHATEVER CAPACITY WE CAN TO ADVISE AND COORDINATE FOR OTHER TYPES OF LAND MANAGEMENT TREATMENTS FOR FIRE MITIGATION. AND THEN NEXT IS THE NUMBER OF TRAINING HOURS RECEIVED AND CONDUCTED IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS. SO WE HAVE CONDUCTED 859 HOURS OF WILD WILDLAND MITIGATION TRAINING. UH, WE'VE RECEIVED NONE. WE DID HAVE TO, UH, PUT A MORATORIUM ON SOME OF OUR TRAINING WITH SOME OF THE BUDGET CONSTRAINTS THAT WE HAD EARLIER IN THE YEAR, BUT WE WERE, WE DID MANAGE TO COMPLETE 859 HOURS OF TRAINING. AND THEN, SO WE DID SEE A DECREASE FOR QUARTER THREE AND FOUR FOR, UH, BEING ABLE TO SEND PEOPLE OUT OF THE CITY TO RECEIVE OTHER TRAINING. BUT WE'VE ALSO BEEN WORKING ON OUR OWN CAPACITY TO DELIVER THOSE CLASSES IN-HOUSE, WHICH MEANS THAT WE'RE, WE'RE GETTING PEOPLE WITHIN OUR WILDFIRE BATTALION AND OUR WILDFIRE DIVISION WITH HIGHER QUALIFICATIONS SO THEY CAN TEACH SOME OF THOSE HIGHER LEVEL CLASSES FOR US. SO ANYTHING THAT GOES THROUGH OUR DISPATCH REPORTED AS A SEX CRIME IS INCLUDED IN THIS DATA HERE. AND THEN WHEN WE WHITTLE IT DOWN TO JUST SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES, AND THESE ARE ADULTS ONLY, NOT INCLUDING CHILDREN, YOU CAN SEE THAT WE HAVE THAT, THAT BIG GAP BETWEEN THOSE YEARS OF 2023 OR 20 22, 20 23, 20 24. AND THEN 2025 IS THAT ELEVATED LINE. AND THAT'S BECAUSE OF THE DATA INTEGRITY PROJECT THAT WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON. SO I'VE GOT A LITTLE BIT MORE TO EXPLAIN ON THAT. BUT YOU CAN SEE THAT IN OCTOBER OF 2024 IS WHEN WE STARTED THAT WORK. AND SO THERE WAS THAT SHARP INCLINE AND WE'RE NOW STARTING TO BALANCE OUT. WE'RE GOING BACK TO 2019 BECAUSE WE WANNA UPDATE AND CORRECT THAT DATA AND MAKE SURE THAT IT IS ALL REFLECTIVE SO THAT WE HAVE FROM 2019 TILL PRESENT. AND AS YOU MIGHT IMAGINE, THAT'S PRETTY CONFUSING FOR A PATROL OFFICER WHEN THEY GO TAKE A REPORT AS TO WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO TITLE IT, WHICH IS WHY WE HAD THIS INFORMATION TITLE CODES TO HELP THEM TO MAKE SURE THAT REPORTS ARE ROUTED PROPERLY. BUT NOW WE'RE SEEING THAT WE NEED SOME CLEANER DATA AND WE'RE HOPING THAT WE CAN CONSOLIDATE THOSE THREE UNDER JUST SEXUAL ASSAULT. AND IN DOING THAT, IT'S MORE CONSISTENT WITH WHAT OUR TRAINING IS CURRENTLY, WHAT TEXAS PENAL CODE SAYS. SO WE'RE WORKING IN THAT, UM, HOPING TO GET THAT OFF THE GROUND SOON. AND SO FAR WE ARE SEEING SOME POSITIVE RESULTS TO THAT, UH, RESPONSE TIMES RATHER AND UPDATING OUR GENERAL ORDERS. WE'RE IN THE PROCESS OF THAT AS WELL AS SENDING OUT, WE'VE ALREADY SENT OUT OUR FIRST TRAINING BULLETIN RELATED TO THAT CHANGE. THE ANNUAL CASE REVIEW THAT AVOW HAS BEEN CONTRACTED TO DO, THEY JUST COMPLETED, UH, THEY'RE STILL IN THE PROCESS THAT'S GONNA BE FOR CASES FROM 2023 TO 2024. SO THEY'RE STILL IN THE PROCESS OF, OF COMPLETING THAT REPORT, AND WE'RE HOPING THAT THEY'LL GET THAT FINAL REPORT TO THE AUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT IN 2026 FOR US TO REVIEW. UH, SO THAT'S, THEY DID NOTE, UM, THEY CAME OUT, I BELIEVE IT WAS A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND MET WITH EXECUTIVE STAFF AND AS WELL AS WITH SEVERAL OTHER MEMBERS, UH, WITH THE SEX CRIMES UNIT DID. AND THEY HAD SOME POSITIVE FEEDBACK FOR US FROM, FROM THIS REPORT. SO WE'RE GRATEFUL FOR THAT WORK THAT THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO CONTINUE TO DO. AND THEN TO TOUCH REAL BRIEFLY ON OUR SEXUAL ASSAULT REDUCTION PROGRAM, UM, THIS IS CALLED SARP IS WHAT WE CALL IT. UH, THIS WAS WHERE WE HAD OFFICERS THAT WERE GOING OUT INTO BARS. SO THE CONCEPT BEHIND THIS WHOLE PROGRAM IS SEXUAL ASSAULTS TEND TO HAPPEN IN A RESIDENCE. THEY HAPPEN BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, UM, BUT THE SUSPECT MIGHT BE MEETING THE VICTIM AT A BAR. SO IF WE HAVE THAT POINT OF INTERVENTION WHERE WE HAVE BAR OWNERS OR BOUNCERS WHO SEE [00:50:01] A FEMALE BEING CARRIED OUT BY THE, OUT OF THE BAR BY SOMEONE WHO, AND SHE'S UNCONSCIOUS, THAT'S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THEM TO INTERVENE AND ENSURE, DO YOU KNOW THIS PERSON? ARE THEY WITH THE SAFE? ARE THEY GOING TO A SAFE PLACE? UM, SO THEY WORKED ON THIS PROJECT AND THROUGH COLLECTION OF DATA AND HAVING THESE PLAIN CLOTHES OPERATIONS IN THE DOMAIN, THEY DID SEE A SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION IN SEXUAL ASSAULTS THAT WERE REPORTED OUT OF THE DOMAIN. THE PROJECT IS STILL ONGOING. IT IS WRAPPING UP. IT WAS RELATED TO, TIED TO A GRANT. SO, UH, THAT IS WRAPPING UP. BUT WE'RE, WE'RE HAPPY TO SEE SOME OF THE RESULTS FROM THIS. AND THEY ARE WORKING ON A VIDEO, UM, THAT WILL BE USED FOR EDUCATION IN THE BARS THAT THEY CAN USE WHEN THEY'RE DOING, UH, ORIENTATION WITH THEIR EMPLOYEES. SO WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT THAT PROGRAM THERE. AND ALSO EXCITED ABOUT OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE TRAVIS COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE. UH, WE'VE SEEN AN UPTICK IN OUR, IN OUR, UH, STAFFINGS, UH, FROM 70 AND QUARTER TWO UP TO 86 IN QUARTER THREE. SO YIELDING POSITIVE RESULTS, WE'RE HAVING OUR MONTHLY MEETINGS, DISCUSSING POLICIES, EVIDENCE SHARING. UM, WE'RE HAVING REALLY OPEN, HONEST COMMUNICATION ON HOW WE CAN BETTER SERVE OUR COMMUNITY FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE PROCESS, THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. SO WE'RE REALLY GRATEFUL FOR THE PARTNERSHIP THAT WE HAVE WITH THE TRAVIS COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE. AND, UH, WE'RE ALSO WORKING ON A TRACKING CASES. SO THIS TRACKING PROCESS WOULD ALLOW OUR DETECTIVES TO HAVE VISIBILITY WITH THE CASES AS IT MOVES THROUGH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. SO I THINK IT GIVES THEM MORE, A LITTLE MORE OWNERSHIP TO IT AND IT ALSO HELPS THEM WITH THAT UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT'S HAPPENING NEXT, UM, WITH THOSE CASES. SO THAT'S, THAT IS ALL IN PROCESS THERE. TRYING TO THINK ANOTHER POINT ON THE, UM, ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY IS GOING TO BE EMBEDDED INTO OUR CHILD ABUSE UNIT AS WELL. I BELIEVE THAT'S HAPPENING TODAY. TODAY, TODAY WAS THE FIRST DAY. ONCE A FORENSIC NURSE AVAILABLE WAS AVAILABLE, I LOOKED INTO THAT DATA AND WE, UH, OFFERED SOMETHING ABOUT THREE HOURS LATER, UM, TO A HOSPITAL. BUT AT THAT POINT, THAT PERSON WOULD WANTED TO HAD DECLINED. UM, OUR SERVICES, AGAIN, IT'S ONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT WE LIKE TO TRACK AND MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE, WE'RE DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE IN MAY. WE, UM, WE DID LOSE A PATIENT TO A FOLLOW UP AND I LOOKED INTO THIS ONE. WE DID HAVE A SEXUAL ASSAULT ADVOCATE THAT WAS BEING, UH, READY TO GO TO A RESPONSE, BUT BY THE TIME THAT COORDINATION HAPPENED, THE PATIENT HAD BEEN DISCHARGED. THEY DID GET THE SAFE LINE NUMBER. SO WE'VE BEEN REALLY GOOD ABOUT, UM, TALKING TO SOCIAL WORKERS AND, UM, CHARGE NURSES AND FACILITIES TO ENSURE THAT THEIR SAFE LINE NUMBER IS PASSED ALONG EVEN WHEN THESE, UM, MISSES DO HAPPEN. UM, AND THEN I THINK THAT'S ALL I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT IN THAT ONE. AND YOU CAN GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE. SO IN, UH, Q3, AGAIN, THE DATA IS KIND OF SIMILAR TO Q2, LIKE HOLLY SAID, BACK KIND OF UP, UM, TO OUR PRE PANDEMIC NUMBERS, 126 EVIDENCE COLLECTION EXAMS AND, UM, SEVEN MEDICAL CARE ONLY. AND THAT'S KIND OF WHY WE TALKED ABOUT THE NONE OF THE ABOVE. 'CAUSE SOMETIMES WHEN PEOPLE HEAR ABOUT WHAT WE CAN DO, SOMETIMES IT'S NOT A GOOD, UM, A GOOD TIME FOR THEM. WE ALSO REALLY INFORM OUR PATIENTS, UM, ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO DECLINE OUR SERVICES. SO WE LEAN REALLY HARD ON INFORMED DECLINATION SO THAT PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND. UM, MAYBE RIGHT NOW IS NOT GOOD, BUT MAYBE TOMORROW MIGHT BE BETTER. SO, UM, JUST MAKING SURE THAT Y'ALL KNOW THAT THOSE NUMBERS ARE REFLECTED IN ALSO A SERVICE DELIVERY, BUT, UM, MAYBE IT WAS, IT JUST WASN'T GOOD AT THE TIME. UM, WE'LL GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE. SO THAT HAS BEEN, UM, A BIT OF A CHALLENGE THAT WE'RE ANTICIPATING TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW WE CAN IDENTIFY MORE FUNDS, UM, CREDENTIALING AT HOSPITALS. SO LIKE PAULA MENTIONED, OUR NURSES ARE ABLE TO GO TO SETON AND ST. DAVID'S FACILITIES. IT'S A REALLY DIFFICULT PROCESS TO GET OUR NURSES APPROVED THROUGH THOSE HOSPITALS. AND EVEN WHEN WE DO GET THEM CREDENTIALED, SOMETIMES WE ARE STILL HAVING OUR NURSES TURNED AWAY AT THOSE TIMES. UM, WE'RE INCORPORATING THAT INTO SOME OF OUR CONTRACT RENEWALS THAT, UM, I'LL TALK ABOUT AS OUR SUCCESSES AS WELL. AND THEN AGAIN, JUST WE'VE BEEN, UM, OH, SORRY, WE'RE, WE'VE BEEN COORDINATING WITH THE HOSPITALS TO STREAMLINE THAT PROCESS. IT'S JUST AN ONGOING, ONGOING EFFORT. UM, THANK YOU. THANKS ALLISON. SO WE'VE BEEN WORKING WITH THE C-S-C-R-M PROJECT QUITE A BIT ON SOME OF THE PATROL RESPONSES, ESPECIALLY THAT WERE MENTIONED EARLIER. THAT'S BEEN A HUGE SUCCESS. UH, WE'RE ALSO WORKING ON, OR HAVE ESTABLISHED A PROCESS WHERE SAFE RECEIVES FEEDBACK FROM ALL SURVIVORS WHOSE CASE HAS BEEN CLOSED WITH TCDA. UM, AND SO ANOTHER AVENUE FOR SURVIVORS TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK THAT WE THEN SHARE WITH, UM, THE DA'S OFFICE. AND THEN LASTLY, WE HAVE REALLY GOOD STAFF RETENTION. THERE'S A LOT OF EXPERTISE ON OUR TEAM. WE HAVE A LOT OF NURSES WHO'VE BEEN WORKING IN THIS FIELD FOR 10 YEARS PLUS, WHICH IS PRETTY RARE, UM, ESPECIALLY IN FORENSIC NURSING. SO WE'RE PRETTY PROUD OF THAT. AND A LOT OF THAT IS JUST A DEDICATION TO TAKING REALLY GOOD CARE OF OUR STAFF, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE ARE SEEING A REALLY HIGH CENSUS, UM, IN THESE REALLY BUSY MONTHS. UM, FOR EXAMPLE, IN OUR MOST RECENT, UM, ROUND OF HIRING, WE JUST DID NOT RECEIVE MANY AT ALL. UM, BILINGUAL CANDIDATES WE'RE OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS FOR, UM, WAYS TO INCREASE THAT RECRUITING POOL. SO TWO YEARS AGO WE EMBEDDED A PROSECUTOR IN THE SEX ASSAULT UNIT THROUGH A GRANT. UM, THE GRANT EXPIRED AND WE ARE NOW FUNDING HER INTERNALLY SO SHE CAN STAY THERE. UM, ALONG WITH IT, WE HAVE THE MONTHLY LEADERSHIP MEETINGS WHERE WE REALLY WORK THROUGH, AS CHIEF JONES MENTIONED, THE HARD ISSUES. WE LOOK AT CASES FROM THE EYES OF THE PROSECUTION, WHAT WE NEED TO PROVE A CASE BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT. UM, SO WHILE WE'RE STAFFING CASES, WE SPEND A LOT OF TIME TALKING ABOUT WHAT WE NEED AT TRIAL, THAT'S JUST GREATLY CHANGED. NOT ONLY OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH A PD, BUT THE KIND OF CASES THAT ARE COMING THROUGH TO OUR OFFICE. UM, I THINK BOTH SIDES AGREE AS WELL. IT'S BEEN A LOT BETTER FOR THE VICTIMS BECAUSE THEY'RE GETTING CONSISTENT COMMUNICATION FROM BOTH AGENCIES AND THEY'RE NOT BEING TOSSED BACK AND FORTH. UM, AND THAT'S BEEN HUGELY EFFECTIVE.
