THIS IS MY FIRST TIME ATTENDING A PLANNING MEETING, SO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HAVING ME.

UM, I'VE LIVED AT 9 1 9 POST OAK FOR 15 YEARS.

UM, I LOVE THE CITY OF AUSTIN AND I LOVE LIVING ON POST OAK STREET.

UM, ACTUALLY FOR 11 YEARS I WAS A MEMBER OF THE ELKS LODGE AND THEN THE HIGH ROAD ON DAWSON.

UM, I LOVE THAT PROPERTY.

IF YOU'VE EVER BEEN TO THE SWIMMING POOL AND SEEING THE VIEW OF DOWNTOWN AUSTIN, IT'S ONE OF THE BEST IN THE CITY.

IT'S SUCH A GORGEOUS PROPERTY.

UM, BUT LET'S GET OPEN MY PHONE HERE.

UM, I'M HERE REPRESENTING MANY OF THE NEIGHBORS WHO LIVE DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THIS VENUE.

WE LOVE AUSTIN AND WE LOVE BEING A PART OF THIS CITY THAT SUPPORTS SMALL BUSINESS AND LIVE MUSIC.

WE REALLY DO.

BUT WHAT WE'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING IS NOT A HEALTHY BALANCE BETWEEN A BUSINESS AND A NEIGHBORHOOD RIGHT NOW WITHOUT THIS PRIVATE CLUB PERMIT, THIS VENUE IS ALREADY OPERATING LIKE A FULL BLOWN LIVE MUSIC SPOT.

MULTIPLE NIGHTS A WEEK, OFTEN LATE INTO SCHOOL NIGHTS.

THE NOISE IS EXTREMELY LOUD, DEEP BASS AMPLIFIED SOUND HOUSE IS VIBRATING.

THIS ISN'T BACKGROUND MUSIC ON A PATIO.

IT'S CONCERT LEVEL VOLUME THAT MAKES IT HARD TO SLEEP, WORK, OR JUST RELAX IN THE HOME WE PAY TO LIVE IN.

ON TOP OF THAT LATE NIGHT ACTIVITIES SPILLS INTO THE STREET, HEADLIGHTS SHINING INTO BEDROOMS, CARS CIRCLING FOR PARKING, LOUD CONVERSATIONS CARRYING INTO THE EVENING.

OUR QUIET RESIDENTIAL BLOCK HAS BECOME AN EXTENSION OF THE VENUE.

AND THIS IS IMPORTANT.

THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THE TERRY BLACK'S ORGANIZATION HAS SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTED THIS NEIGHBORHOOD.

A DECADE AGO WHEN THE SMOKE FROM THEIR BARBECUE OPERATIONS CAUSED CONSTANT AIR QUALITY ISSUES, NEIGHBORS HAD TO FIGHT LONG AND HARD FOR RELIEF.

IT TOOK YEARS FOR THAT SITUATION TO IMPROVE.

WE REMEMBER THAT EXPERIENCE AND UNFORTUNATELY MANY OF US FEEL LIKE WE ARE RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED DEALING WITH MAJOR DISRUPTIONS.

ONLY NOW IT'S NOISE INSTEAD OF SMOKE.

THE PATTERN IS CLEAR.

EXPANSION HAPPENS FIRST AND THE BURDEN FALLS ON RESIDENTS TO FIGHT FOR BASIC QUALITY OF LIFE LATER.

WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN.

IF THIS BUSINESS WERE OPERATING RESPONSIBLY, COMMUNICATING WITH NEIGHBORS, KEEPING NOISE RESPONSIBLE, PREVENTING SPILLOVER ONTO THE STREETS, MAYBE THERE'D BE ROOM FOR A DIFFERENT CONVERSATION.

BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT'S HAPPENING AND THERE'S NO INDICATION GIVING THEM EVEN MORE FREEDOM.

LATER HOURS, MORE EVENTS AND MORE ALCOHOL WOULD MAKE THINGS BETTER FOR THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE.

EVERYTHING WE'VE SEEN POINTS TO THE SITUATION GETTING WORSE.

WE'RE NOT ASKING FOR ANYTHING UNREASONABLE AND BELIEVE YOU ME, I'D LOVE A POOL ACROSS THE STREET AND A PRIVATE CLUB TO GO TO.

I WOULD, WE JUST WANT PEACE AND QUIET, UM, THAT ANY HOMEOWNER EXPECTS AT NIGHT.

WE WANNA FEEL LIKE THE CITY WE LIVE IN VALUES THE NEEDS OF RESIDENTS AS MUCH AS THE DESIRES OF A BUSINESS.

UM, THEN THE COMMISSION AND COUNCIL, UM, CAN ASK QUESTIONS, BUT THERE WILL NOT BE ANY ACTION TAKEN AT THE JOINT PUBLIC HEARING.

UH, THE NOTICE WILL ALSO INCLUDE THE DATE FOR THE NEXT, THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING WHERE ACTION CAN BE TAKEN AND THEN THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING AS WELL.
