UM, I'D LIKE TO CONGRATULATE, UH, RAJIV THOMAS ON HIS PROMOTION TO DEPUTY CHIEF OF FINANCE.

AND, UM, AND ALSO CONGRATULATIONS ON THE, THE, UH, NUMBERS.

SO GOOD AFTERNOON COMMISSIONERS.

UM, I'LL START WITH THE, THE, UH, THE REVENUE FOR NOVEMBER, UH, 2023.

SO THE OPERATING REVENUES CAME IN AT 26 MILLION, UH, COMPARED TO 22.6 LAST YEAR.

UH, SO THAT WAS A $3.4 MILLION INCREASE VERSUS LAST YEAR NOVEMBER, AND A 15.2% INCREASE YEAR OVER YEAR.

UM, AND VERSUS BUDGET, UH, WE ARE ALSO, UM, TRACKING BETTER THAN BUDGET RIGHT NOW FOR THE, THE TWO MONTHS, OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER, UH, FISCAL YEAR TO DATE, UH, WE ARE ABOUT 5.8 MILLION HIGHER THAN WHAT WE BUDGETED.

SO THE REVENUES ARE TRACKING VERY WELL, UH, VERSUS BUDGET.

UH, ON THE OPERATING SIDE, UM, YOU'LL SEE THAT THE OPERATING EXPENSES FOR THE AIRPORT SEEM A LITTLE HIGH.

UH, THERE'S A COUPLE OF REASONS FOR THAT.

UM, IT'S 13.38 MILLION IN NOVEMBER VERSUS 8.8 MILLION LAST YEAR.

SO THAT'S A $4.6 MILLION INCREASE.

PART OF THAT WAS LAST YEAR.

THE GAIN SHARING PORTION OF, UM, OF THE PAYOUT HAPPENED IN DECEMBER OF 2022 VERSUS NOVEMBER LAST YEAR.

SO THIS YEAR WE PAID IT OUT IN NOVEMBER.

SO THAT'S ABOUT $1.6 MILLION.

THAT IS, UH, CREATING THAT VARIANCE OF THE, OF THE 5.4 $0.6 MILLION INCREASE.

UH, OTHER ITEMS, YOU KNOW, THAT ALSO ARE, ARE, UH, LEADING TO THE INCREASES.

WE HAVE A HIGHER HEAD COUNT THAN WE HAVE LAST YEAR.

UH, WE HAVE ABOUT ALMOST 80 FTES MORE THAN WE HAD NOVEMBER IN OF 2022.

UH, PLUS WE HAVE ON THE CONTRACTUAL SIDE, WE HAVE A NEW VANDERLANDE CONTRACT, UH, THAT HAD STARTED, UH, THIS FISCAL YEAR THAT IS ABOUT $400,000, UH, MONTHLY THAT WE DIDN'T HAVE LAST YEAR.

AND ALSO THERE ARE OUR EXPENSES RELATED TO, UM, A F WHICH IS OUR, OUR OUR, UM, UM, A FD OR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.

CAUSE UH, THERE WAS A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT, UM, THAT WAS APPROVED BY COUNCIL NOVEMBER OF LAST YEAR.

A LUMP SUM PAYOUT RELATED TO THAT HIT IN THIS MONTH IN NOVEMBER.

SO THAT'S ALSO, UH, LEADING TO THE INCREASE, UH, YEAR OVER YEAR.

SO THOSE ARE LIKE THE MAIN ITEMS THAT ARE CAUSING THE OPERATIONAL EXPENSES INCREASE.

UH, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, UH, WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE SURPLUS OR THE NET REVENUES, UH, IT WAS $5.8 MILLION IN NOVEMBER OF 2023 VERSUS $7.9 MILLION LAST YEAR.

BUT YEAR TO DATE, WE ARE ABOUT 1.3 OFF OF THE PACE OF LAST YEAR.

MOST OF THAT IS RELATED TO THE DEBT INCREASE IN THE DEBT, WHICH WAS ABOUT $1.1 MILLION.

SO, YEAR TO DATE, WE ARE TRACKING VERY WELL WITH LAST YEAR IN TERMS OF THE SURPLUS REVENUES.

COMMISSIONERS, DO WE HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FOR MR. THOMAS? UM, I WOULD LIKE A DEFINITION OF WHAT GAIN SHARING IS.

THE AIRLINES ARE CERTAINLY PAYING ATTENTION TO US.

WE CAN TURN LEFT OR RIGHT AND THE WE'RE ALWAYS IN THE NEWS FOR SOMETHING ADDED OR FOR SOMETHING SUBTRACTED.

WE ARE STARTING TO SEE THE EFFECTS OF, UM, AMERICAN AIRLINES RATCHETING BACK THESE NEXT FEW MONTHS.

AND YOU CAN SEE THAT IN THE 24 TO 23 CAPACITY CHANGES WE'RE DOWN 10% WITH SEATS JANUARY 24 COMPARED TO JANUARY 23.

BUT IF YOU COMPARE JANUARY 24 TO PRE COVID, WE'RE STILL UP 39%.

I JUST ALWAYS WANNA HIGHLIGHT THAT.

UM, LAST YEAR WE ENDED ON A REALLY GOOD NOTE.

THE BUSINESS JOURNAL SAID THAT WE WERE NUMBER TWO IN THE COUNTRY IN TERMS OF CAPACITY ADS VERSUS PRE COVID.

WE WERE JUST BEHIND ORLANDO WITH THE NUMBER OF ORIGINATING FLIGHTS INCREASING 42%.

THE BIGGEST NEWS IN THIS REPORT IS DELTA AND DELTA RAMPING UP IN AUSTIN, TEXAS.

THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THEY'LL BE CONNECTING AIRCRAFT PASSENGERS RATHER THROUGH AUSTIN.

THEY'VE ADDED THREE NEW DAILY FLIGHTS.

THEY ADDED A ROUTE TO NASHVILLE, THEY ADDED A ROUTE TO MIDLAND AND A NEW NONSTOP FOR AUSTIN MACALLAN.

AND, UH, THIS OF COURSE JUST COMES OUT A MONTH AFTER AMERICAN AIRLINES PULLED SOME SERVICE BACK HERE.

SO IT'S TERRIFIC TO SEE DELTA ADDING HERE.

AND IT'S ALL THE BUZZ WITH THE INDUSTRY.

UM, THEY HAVE A CALCULATED RISK IN ADDING TO AUSTIN, AND WE WISH THEM GREAT SUCCESS.

SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UPCOMING NEW NONSTOPS AND NEW ROUTES FOR AUSTIN.

IN FACT, I ADDED A CHART, A NEW CHART, SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO COMING IN MARCH THE NINTH, SOUTHWEST MONTEREY, MEXICO BY VIVA ABOS BACK IN AUSTIN, MARCH 22ND, YEAR ROUND MACALLAN ON DELTA THAT STARTS APRIL 22ND.

MIDLAND, DELTA AND NASHVILLE, DELTA, MONTREAL ON AIR CANADA, MAY 3RD, EUGENE, OREGON ON ALLEGIANT, MAY 31ST, AND BOSTON ON SOUTHWEST SEASONALLY.

WHEN WE COMPARE JANUARY 24 TO 23, OUR NONSTOP DESTINATIONS ARE DOWN BECAUSE OF THE PRIMARILY AMERICAN AIRLINES RATCHETING BACK.

OUR NONSTOP DEPARTURES ARE DOWN AND OUR NONSTOP SEAT DEPARTURES ARE DOWN YEAR OVER YEAR, BUT SUCCESSFULLY UP SINCE PRE COVID.

SO WE'RE SEEING THESE CROSS CONNECTIONS, THESE CROSS CORRECTIONS FOR AUSTIN.

UH, RECENTLY ALASKA PULLED BACK ON BOISE, WHICH, UM, WAS PUT IN DURING THE SUMMER OF 21.

THE AIRLINES KEEP IN MIND WE'RE LOOKING FOR, UH, ROUTES THAT WERE LEISURE FOCUSED AND OUTDOOR FOCUSED.

AND BECAUSE THEIR HUBS HAD NOT QUITE COME BACK TO WHERE THEY WERE, THEY NOW NEED AIRCRAFT BACK INTO THEIR HUBS.

AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES, WE DID LOSE THAT ROUTE ON ALASKA.

AND SPEAKING OF ALASKA, YOU'VE ALL BEEN READING PROBABLY ABOUT THE MAX NINE ISSUE AND THE GROUNDING OF THAT ISSUE.

WE ARE DEFINITELY AFFECTED IN AUSTIN.

ALASKA, UH, HAS CANCELED A FEW FLIGHTS EVERY DAY.

THREE FLIGHTS OUT OF THEIR APPROXIMATELY EIGHT PER DAY HAVE BEEN CANCELED THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS.

UNITED ALSO FLIES THIS AIRCRAFT AND THEY'VE HAD JUST A HANDFUL OF CANCELLATIONS.

WE'RE HOPING THAT THAT GETS REMEDIED WITH CHANGES IN AIRCRAFT AND OF COURSE, THE INSPECTIONS.

WE HOPE THAT GOES WELL FOR THE INDUSTRY AND, AND MOVES ALONG.

UH, ONE OTHER THING I WANNA MENTION IS THAT, UH, AUSTIN HOSTS AIRPORT AND AIRLINE CONFERENCES FROM TIME TO TIME.

AND IN JANUARY WE'LL BE HOSTING AN AIR SERVICE DATA CONFERENCE.

THIS IS HELD EVERY TWO YEARS BY ONE OF OUR PRIMARY TRADE ORGANIZATIONS CALLED AIRPORTS COUNCIL INTERNATIONAL.

THIS ATTRACTS PRIMARILY SMALLER AIRPORTS THAT WANNA LEARN, UH, HOW TO DO AIR SERVICE DEVELOPMENT, AND PARTICULARLY THE DATA THAT THE AIRLINES LOOK AT WHEN THEY'RE MAKING DECISIONS ON WHERE TO FLY.

SO THERE'S ALL KINDS OF DATA THAT, UM, AIRLINES USE.

THEY USE MOBILE LYTICS AND WEB DATA.

THEY USE HISTORICAL PATTERNS.

THEY WANNA KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE COMMUNITY, AND THAT'S WHERE THIS TRAINING WILL OCCUR IN AUSTIN.
